A Happy Ending

As James instructed, Mirae removed her blindfold. She blinked trying to adjust to the bright light before seeing what was in front of her. When she had completely adjusted her eyes to the light, she opened her mouth wide in surprise to see a beautifully decorated living room, her friends, a table with a cake and also James kneeling down beside her with a ring in his hand.

Mirae covered her mouth with her hands being surprised. She gave a bright tooth flashing smile as James asked while holding her hand "Miss Eun Mirae, will you take this chance to be my wife?"

Mirae chuckled and gave a nod. "Yes, I do!"

James inserted the ring in her finger and stood up. Pulling her in a embrace, he lightly kissed her and whispered "Tonight, I shall eat you till the morning comes!" He bit her earlobe and Mirae slapped his chest.

All the available guests cheered and applauded for the new couple.

"Ooooo! Look at you! You are glowing, babe!" Soo-Ah teased while glancing at Mirae. As Mirae lowered her eyes, Ga-Eun stepped forward and tickled her. "What's there to be shy, huh? You look so cute and radiant!"

Mirae blushed at their words and her eyes fell on the ring which James inserted in her finger. While she was looking, her friends also peeked in and chimed "That is a limited-edition diamond ring. I bet it comes with a set."

"To think that Mr. James would choose something this lovely... Ahhh!!! I'm too much envious!"

"How about a toast, soon-to-be-Mrs. Park?" Ga-Eun raised her wine glass asking for a toast. Mirae took the wine glass from the table nearby and the three of them clinked their glasses with smiles on their faces.

As that was done, Soo-Ah and Ga-Eun both hugged her and rubbed her back. "We are glad that you found your missing piece, Mirae. Stay happy as always. We both love you!"

"Aigoo! Just stop! Do you want me to cry or what?" Mirae pushed her friends and lightly slapped their shoulders. "Stupid girls! You guys are speaking as if I'm going far away from you."

While talking with his parents, James stole glances at Mirae who was talking with her friends with a delighted smile on her face. He was happy to see her happy. He slowly walked towards her so that he could show her another of his surprise which he had arranged just and just for her.

"Sorry to disturb you, but I need my would-be-wife for a while." James smiled after wrapping his hand around Mirae's tiny waist and took her with him to his parents.

Mirae had already met his parents through a video call. She bowed to them and James took her to a corner.

Mirae knew where this was going so, she held his hand and stopped him. "How about we do it when the guests are gone?" She took a glance at the people who were scattered here and there in the hall and suppressed her smile.

"Do it?" Although James understood what she meant, he began to tease her.

Realizing that James had nothing of that sort-of intention, Mirae immediately shook her head and pushed her fallen hair strands behind her ear.

James laughed and took Mirae to his room.

"Stay here! I have a surprise for you."

"Surprise? What surprise?"

"Just stay here! I will come in a minute."

James insisted Mirae to stay inside the room and he walked out. To be precise, he had been planning on this since a long time but then he was never getting the perfect timing to do so. And today, when he was proposing her, he thought it would be way better to surprise Mirae today.

This surprise which he arranged for her, it took James a lot of courage and support from Mirae's friends and his parents. He was really afraid and nervous to meet Mirae's parents, all by himself.

But there was nothing to be nervous about. Mirae's parents were extremely happy to meet him and they were happy for their daughter to meet a lovely man like him.

So, after meeting with them, James decided to make Mirae and her parents meet.

"This way, mother-in-law, father-in-law!" He took her parents towards the room. After knocking on the door and receiving Mirae's approval, he walked inside.

"Where did you go without saying anything, huh?" As Mirae stood up to talk with James, she noticed an old couple walk after him. She recognized them at once and rushed to hug them.

"Mom! Dad!" Mirae cried as she felt her parents' embrace after a long time. She missed this hug and this touch. She really missed her parents. "I missed you so much!"

"We missed you too!"

Her mother caressed her hair and Mirae told them to sit. "How did you guys come here?" She asked while touching her mother's cheek and rubbing her father's hand.

"Son-in-law bought us here."

"Son-in-law?" Mirae blankly repeated the word and then looked at James who was smiling. Instantly, she hugged him and cried "Thank you so much for bringing them here! This is the biggest thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you so much, James!"

"I'm happy that you like it!" James patted her head and smiled.

After having a long conversation with her parents, Mirae finally was at ease. It had been a long time since she had met her parents and she was happy to have met them. She was relieved, really relieved.

Later in the night, Mirae hugged James who was soundly asleep. She brushed his lips and combed his hair roughly with her hands.

"I think you are the best thing that has ever happened to me, Mr. James Park!" She leaned over and kissed his already swollen lips and smiled.

"You truly are the best person whom I ever met and I'm glad we became one!"

A woman needs only three things in her life – family, happiness and love! Mirae always thought that she had a bad life or her destiny wasn't always with her.

But her thoughts all changed when she started to get entangled with James, somehow and then fell in love with him. This man, who was a complete foreigner… Mirae fell in love with him all the while knowing what risks she was taking.

And she was glad that she fell in love with James! Because for her, James was the one who provided those three things without which a woman feels empty!
