The First Wave (5)

As soon as he feels the flesh and muscles of his shoulder being torn apart by the monster's teeth. Icarus grits his teeth, feeling frustrated that he's let his guard down again. Due to being focused on dodging and defending against the attacks and slashes of the spears and swords, he ended up forgetting an important detail – he was dealing with a monster.

It doesn't matter how similar the beings in front of him are to humans and other rational races, either in appearance or even in intellect. In the end, nothing changes that in essence the Wererats are monsters. Beings that instinctively are used to fighting depending only on their own body be it their claws or teeth

The sound of his flesh being crushed becomes louder and louder as the monster's bite grows stronger with each passing second

With a quick glance, Icarus notices that apart from the monster attached to his shoulder, there are no other monsters within three meters of him.
