A Strange Misunderstanding

Rem was let in by this old man.

She first looks around the place.

First impression, this is a place where they steal other people's stuff that they may be selling. Just like Miss Mimilia's Insignia.

Speaking of Insignia. She looks at the old man who just finished drinking.

He puts down his drinking cup.

Rem: "This is really a scary sight…"

Old Man: "Are you saying that I'm a threat you? If you think an old man drinking alcohol just wasting his life is intimidating, then you should consider changing your habits girl."

Rem shakes her head and looks at the old man with calmness in her eyes.

"No sir. Something happened and it is what it is. I'm sorry that I was knocking on the door violently. I was just concerned about something."

Rem says with a guilty expression.

The old man raises an eyebrow.

"Concerned?" He asks. "For what? Or for who? From my days of living here, I've never seen you even once."

Rem nods.

"I understand that, but let me just ask a question."

The old man looks at her. Rem coughs and she breathes in and out.

She looked at the side.

"I know this may sound crazy and I fully understand if you might think of me as crazy, but…"

Rem looks at him.

"Did you recently die?"

Rem stays quiet after asking.

The old man holds his head and laughs.

Rem wasn't expecting that response, but she did just say if he recently passed away, even though he's right here, breathing right now.

"I know in my time that I will die, but you can clearly see it's not my time yet, so there's no death inside of me."

He looks drunk when saying that.

Rem: "If that's so, have you seen a young face who has a sword and wearing a butler outfit, or a silver haired girl that is really cute?" Rem really had to add the extra details.

He looked at his cup then to her.

"I didn't see anyone that caught my attention here. So then no."

Rem touches her chin with a concerned expression on her face.

"Then that means they're alive. But they're somewhere right now. I should've known this was a checkpoint thing… I should really start thinking smart, my intelligence is slowly decreasing everytime I get dumber."

She thinks that in her head, still thinking about what happened in that last time. She wondered who sliced her abdomen off the floor and why so.

The old man looks at her and asks.

"So what are you doing here, why are you disturbing my drinking?"

Rem looks at him with concern on her face.

"You must be very old sir. Stop drinking alcohol if you're planning to live longer."

She shakes her hand, swiping off what she just said.

"A-Anyways about your question."

She gulps as she sighs.

"Do you perhaps have something that's named "Insignia" by any chance?"

She asks as she fixes her jacket.

Rem continues.

"It belongs to that silver haired girl I mentioned. I want to return it to her, by buying it of course."

She holds her chin looking to the side.

"I'm not sure why, but it's very important to her and she's going to need it for something."

She looks at the old man.

"It's a small thing, like this."

She shows the size of it by her fingers.

"It has a gemstone in the middle as well."

She puts her hands down and tilts her head.

"Any chance you might have it here for sale…?"

The old man rubs his chin as he tries to recall what she just said.

"Insignia huh…"

He looks at Rem.

"Sorry, but we don't have it here, nor have one here."

Rem: "Oh…"
