Ambush

While all the letters were getting delivered, King Ambrus already had all the troops in position including the ones sent by King Zephyr. The troops were lined up in the middle of the forest waiting for an order, while the forbidden army was waiting at the outside of the forest still within their territory, also waiting for an order. Queen Maralah as well had sent some troops to stand and wait outside the forest until told otherwise. Her expansion project was still continuing, not once did she believe King Ambrus, thinking he was just talk and only placing troops there to try and intimidate her. The troops waited for three days without anything happening besides a random bear attack where no one got hurt. After three days Queen Maralah finally got Queen Mira's letter.

"Queen Maralah, Queen Mira has accepted our alliance and in two days she wants to meet at the eastern border."

"Very well get everything needed for the trip prepared. Also, I want ten of our strongest soldiers to accompany me as well as my usual guards."

After a day of getting prepared for any occasion and even bringing along someone who looked like the queen, they were finally ready and headed out.

Since it will take Queen Maralah one more day than queen Mira to reach the border, Queen Mira was still getting ready.

"I want my usual guards to come along, as well as twenty extra soldiers." "Oh and get me my best piece of clothing ready, I want to look fabulous, and distract her guards with my eternal beauty."

"As you wish ma'am, a splendid dress will be prepared for you." Darya said with an annoyed expression which could not be seen as she had her head lowered.

To the west and the east Kings Ambrus and Zephyr had already met up and were talking about their strategy. King Zephyr informed King Ambrus that both queens will be meeting up in two days to discuss their strategy. King Ambrus still enraged became even more enraged after finding out about the two queen's alliance said,

"Lets get rid of Queen Maralah, I will send ten of the men in the forest as well as a mage capable of hiding their presence to go around her troops and intercept her on the way to the border."

King Zephyr knowing Queen Maralah took a double along with her agreed to the idea.

"King Zephyr I request more troops be sent to the front line and eastern forest. I myself will be sending an extra 200 men to the front lines and an extra 300 to the eastern forest, as well as placing explosives along the eastern forest."

King Zephyr, knowing he was going to ask for more men already had 400 men on the way as well as some explosives and food supplies. Their meeting ended, and they each went their ways, as soon as they turned their backs to each other they both had a grin on their faces. A day later Queen Maralah got ambushed, a whoosh sound was heard followed by a deafening explosion aimed at the very middle of their convoy. The mage had shot a fire ball at them, the guards not knowing where it came from, panicked and dispersed then ten men wielding swords came out from the trees. The queen's guards started fighting them, all that could be heard was the clashing of swords and men's grunts and screams as they got pierced by swords, there was blood splattering everywhere. The mage concealing his presence inspected the blown up carriage, after ensuring the queen was dead, he ordered the remaining men to retreat and concealed their presence as well. The road was stained red, like a field of roses, men lying dead and a crater in the middle of the road as the explosion was quite big. The remaining guards inspected the bodies and found a fire symbol on one of their shirts. A week had passed and nothing had happened, there was no new news and everything was still the same, except for Queen Maralah's expansion which had now stopped, but King Ambrus left his troops on standby just in case.
