The storm passed

We walked hand in hand on the streets of Kinshasa city, my right hand gripping the fingers of a little man about six years old, we finally found Paki in the residential area around the back of the restaurant after a long wait.

Hafsa took me to a market known as the Marche des Voleurs, a market with wooden stalls on the ground, where small Congolese handicrafts were sold. Being in this market made me realize that Congolese people are creative and artistic people. There are lots of various wooden handicrafts in the form of sculptures of animals, traditional masks, small bronze statues, bronze jewelry, copper-coated wall paintings, bronze ashtrays, voodoo masks, and rare objects that are hard to find. Everything was quite interesting, except for a few stalls selling genuine leopard skins, or crafts made from elephant ivory, although they looked artistic, they are still criminal acts, related to the protection of endangered species.
