Lapse

"I am Savannah, nice to meet you all."

Violet looked stunned as she watched Savannah give a polite curtsy.

"I hope you ca-"

Violet leaned in towards me, whispering into my ear, "Why is the student council president here?"

"Um... I'm-"

Jordan snapped her fingers and pointed, whistling to get our attention, "Is she the girl you helped?"

I nodded, "Yeah... uh... she's the one."

Naomi scooted her seat close to mine and leaned in, "And you didn't know it was the council president?"

"W-Well no, I never paid attention to those things." I paused, "Never had a reason to." At the time I didn't know it was her but that wouldn't have stopped me from helping her out -- It'd fuck me up if I didn't help her out then.

Quickly though, I couldn't help but become uncomfortable with what I was looking at. Savannah, standing there in front of us all, progressively became lewder and lewder visually, staring me down like a lioness who had found their mate. I felt my fight or flight activate and I retreated, stumbling out of my chair and pressing my back against the wall behind me. Violet looked confused but Jordan and Naomi seemed to understand immediately what was happening.

"Woah, woah, woah-- why are you looking at me like that?"

It looked like she realized what she was doing as she immediately began slapping herself on her face before taking a deep breath, going back into her nervous yet polite disposition not even a second ago.

"Wh-What, what are you all on about?" Violet glanced between us and I butted in.

"Let's move on from t- actually no, what was that, Savannah?"

"It was nothing."

"No-no-no, that was definitely not 'nothing' what was that, why'd you look at me like that?"

Her face became flushed and she seemed to have retreated some, "W-why do you keep pressing...?"

Now I feel bad. "S-sorry." I don't get women very much... fuck that kind of brought back some memories from a couple of days ago fuck what do I do about that, Naomi hasn't said anything but... let's not think about it.

"Savan!"

"U-uh, yeah?"

"Thank you for saving me!" She lowered her head to me.

"What is this, Japan!? You don't need to do that!"

"I CAN BEG ON THE GROUND IF YOU WANT ME TO!"

Silence-- it was deafening. Everyone including me could only just stand or sit, staring at this seemingly known to be innocent girl say something absolutely absurd with anticipation spread across her face. After realizing what she had said, she ran out of the room, hands covering her face which was as red as an apple. I whipped my head around to look at the other girls around me, pointing at myself.

"W-Why... w-...?" I paused, "U-unrelated... I just realized that I don't know any guys... or am friends with any guys."

Violet nodded to herself about something, getting up from her seat before wrapping an arm around my shoulders, "I can't tell if you're lucky or sad my friend."

"Wow... I think that's the first time you've actually insulted me."

"How did I insult you?"

"You called me 'sad.'"

"W-Well," She pressed her lips together, ruminating in her thoughts for a second, "It is pretty sad that you only know girls," Her face became passionate for some reason, like some sort of Shojo character giving a romantic speech, "Can't fuck 'em either."

"Oh my god, okay," I shook her off, heading out of the clubroom like Savannah, "Don't wanna talk about it."

I don't know how to handle girls talking about stuff like that especially when there is one in the same room as me that I just kissed not even that long ago. We really need to speak about that, it hurts not talking about it, all it does is makes me more and more confused about my feelings and her feelings about it all. I know she didn't mind it, but... why... am I just suddenly getting lucky? Is this whole ghost thing a karma thing? Like, the bad karma of seeing and experiencing these spiritual phenomena is offsetting my general karma or whatever making me lucky in my social life?

I bumped into something as I was exiting the door, retreating a bit as the person in front of me mumbled, "Oh, shit..." The voice sounded familiar. I looked up and stared into the abyss and the abyss looked back at me. That was a joke but something on the equivalent of that actually did happen. (Someone that I hate appeared)

"Motherfucker..." I mumbled.

"H-Hey... Savan."

*

I found myself back in my seat, staring down the young man in front of me - tension in the air.

Violet spoke up, "So... aren't you, Dominic?"

"Oh~," Jordan leaned into the back of her seat, "You're Dominic Lockhart."

Dominic nodded, "Y-yeah."

Dominic was a handsome young man with short brown hair, the type of guy to be popular, in fact, he is one of the more popular people in the school. Almost every girl knows about him, even the ones who aren't even interested know of him, speaking of which.

"You seemed familiar with Savan," Naomi leaned forward, her eyes giving a cold expression, "What's with that?" She glanced at me.

"Uh... yeah," Dominic sighed, "Yeah... I know him. We were friends in Middle School."

I chuckled, "He's one of the guys who orchestrated that false campaign against me."

"Hey! I didn't know!" Dominic lunged forward, slamming his hands on the table that separated us before quickly calming down, awkwardly sitting back down in his chair. "S-Sorry..."

Violet butted in, "So, what do you need?"

"Uh... yeah. I wanted you guys to look into something for me."

"What is it?"

"I wanted you to see if my girlfriend is cheating on me or not."

Violet looked disappointed as am I. "Who-Who, is your girlfriend?"

"Her name is Jesibell Marks."

"Mind specifying some things?"

"What do you need to know?"

"What makes you suspect her?"

"O-Oh... well... I just think," He sighed, "She's been very distant from me lately. It wasn't really anything too weird at first but then she started canceling dates left and right and... I just... I don't know what to think."

"How long has this been going on?"

"Well, the distance began a month after starting High School but I didn't think of it as anything at first then once we got into our second year, that's when she started canceling dates and the like."

"Got a photo of her?"

Dominic nodded, taking out a printed-out picture which was folded to be small enough to fit in his pocket. He unfolded the picture, placing it on the table. A short young girl with hair that barely reached her shoulders with red highlights lined on the right side of her hair. "That's her."

Violet sighed, "Well... we'll help...?" She scanned the room and nobody seemed to disagree with her, "Yeah," She nodded, "We'll help."
