"Momma." A young voice woke her up from the past. She looked around, she was in the hospital, still sitting on the bench. She looked around and saw Michal, standing beside her, looking at her puzzled about what happened to her.
She took some deep breath, wiped away the cold beads of sweat from her forehead, and smiled at him. She carried him in her arms and made him sit on her lap.
"Why did you come out?" She asked in a caring and gentle voice. She can't give them their father, because of her past mistake but no matter she will try her best to give them the best of her, she doesn't want them to go through a nightmare, not till she is alive. She knows they will need their father soon but can they forgive her after knowing the truth.
"I wanna go home." Michal pouted his lips and told him with teary eyes.
He missed them. Every day in the hospital it is just him missing them. He wants to be a good boy and doesn't want to cause more trouble for his mother, but misses them. He snuggled around her chest, wrapped his small arm around her.
She sighed, she felt bad but she really can't do anything. He needs to get treatment and can't leave the hospital. She patted his back and pecked on his hair before carrying him on her arm and getting up from his place.
Her eyes went to the person in front of her, her eyes went from the floor slowly upwards.
On seeing who it was, her eyes were about to pop out of shock. She took a few steps back in astonishment. No, it can't be true. She was too dumbfounded to say anything, seeing her acting Michal moved his head to see what it was.
He was shocked to see it was none other than his father. His father? The one who never appeared during all this year was standing in front of them. Can it be true? Why has he returned now?
He looked up at his fears, he could see cold beads sweets forming around her neck and forehead. He could see the terror in her eyes.
She was scared of him.
"Momma, What's wrong? Are we not going to your room?" Michal ignored Michael and acted as if he didn't recognize him. Sara wakes up from her thoughts on hearing him. She looked at Michal and tried to calm herself, for a second she thought he would run into Michael's arm knowing that he is their father but seeing he didn't recognize him, calmed her mind.
She took a glance at Michael, who was still standing there speechless, she can like her son but what will she say to him? She can't fool him with lies again. For now, it was better that she leaves before he comes back to his senses and questions him.
She ignored him and walked past him towards Michal's room and she didn't dare to look at him, in fear of being asked something.
She fastened her pace and walked to Michal's room. She closed the door and put him down. She stayed close to the door, trying to hear if he followed them but because of the noise around, she couldn't hear anything.
Michal was more confused seeing his mother act like that, she looked scared. He pulled her index finger, to make her notice him and he was successful.
Sara looked down at him and bent down to be at the same height as him. "Can you go and get some rest, my love. I need to go back to work." She tried to act normal and smiled at him.
Michal knew something was wrong, maybe their dad was not like his mom said to them otherwise why would she be scared, and try to hide it. He didn't want to create more trouble, even if he was curious, he would listen to his momma.
"Mm" he nodded to her, hiding his eyes about to tear up, and his cheeks pouting a bit. He walked to his bed and lay down, turning to another side, to not show her his tears. But Sara already knew he was sad but this was not the right time. The more she was worried now about what to say to him. She needs to meet him again and she can't ignore him. She needs him.
She took a deep breath and finally opened the door, and as she expected he was there, standing with no expression on his face.
"Come with me. I will tell you everything." She spoke out before and dragged him with her by holding his wrist.
He had no words to say, nor he had ways to think. He was a mess. It was true, their child was alive but why did she hide him? Why she lied to him. Was she that desperate to leave him?
His whole brain was a mess. Which was right which was wrong? Should he be happy, that his child is alive or cry on being foolish and not knowing that or should he hate her for doing this to him. He doesn't know
