A Plan and a Surprise
Before Advaith could say anything, Ira's voice cut through the line, her tone urgent. "Advaith, I want to say something to you about Bivian as well," she said. "Can you please come home? I need to talk to you in person."
But Advaith was already one step ahead. "I already know what you did to Bivian," he said, his voice firm. "And I know as well that he proposed to you last night and you told him you don't love him, you love me. Do you have anything to say about it, Ira? Do you have any idea what was going to happen to him last night?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Advaith wondered if he had lost the connection. But then Ira's voice came back, hesitant and unsure.
"Advaith, I...I don't know what to say," she stammered. "I know I hurt Bivian, and I'm sorry for that. But I couldn't help how I feel. I love you, Advaith, and I couldn't pretend to love Bivian just to spare his feelings."
