a mundane day

a prison cell.

Leofwin Hampton wakes up. there is a man on a nice uniform on the other side of his prison cell.

the man is in his mid-thirties. his clothing seems to be nice, but if you look closely you can tell that his clothing is old. he has some common eyeglasses frame. his whole hair seems to be made of plastic for the excessive amount of gel.

that man has a freshly shaved face. he seems to be nervous and worry at the same time. he has one of those typical nice guy faces you see as the background characters of dramas with a MC living on a poor neighborhood with nice people.

if his appearance wasn't enough. well yes he is a lawyer, to be more precise a recently baked one with little experience on the field.

his name is Jonathan White and he is in here to see Leofwin. yes the lawyer has awareness about the kind of relationship that Leofwin has with Maxwell.

"do you know where is Mr. Altham?"

asked the lawyer on a serious tone of voice.

Master Leofwin didn't answer to that question. the only thing that he did was to look at a wall as he was pretending to ignore the lawyer.

the lawyer was about to say something. he closes his mouth and he looks around of him to make sure that no one is looking at him. he then looks directly at the eyes of the old man. there was some metaphorical fire on the eyes of the lawyer.

"don't say anything. I know that you know about his location and that is enough."

said Jonathan White as he is trembling.

"I supposed as his lawyer you wanted to find him. is nice to know that you support him, even when it isn't so legal."

said Master Hampton refusing to look at the eyes of the lawyer.

"you tell me, what am I suppose to do when he is a wanted man. you and I know that he is innocent. we know that in this world been innocent doesn't mean anything when the evidence, real or not indicates otherwise. they are going to kill him if he ever comes back. so please tell him to never come back."

at first yielded the lawyer with all his strength, but then he said with a weak and almost broken voice.

"you are too weak. the world will eat you if you aren't stronger."

"I, I became a lawyer to defend the innocent. I choose this job to protect the innocent, not to see them been send to a cage and then be killed like animals."

Jonathan's words was evidence of a weak man trying to be strong for others and for his beliefs. Leofwin was afraid of the future of a man like that. is he going to survive in this world? this is a social jungle that eats the weak, is he on top or under the food-chain?

the old man stayed on his old cell for some time in silence thinking about the past and thinking about the future. when the present isn't relevant nor important, you can think about the future you want to build or the past that couldn't be.

a few hours passed, but inside of the prison cell felt like seconds. a hour or day, even a month can be gone and Leofwin wouldn't know how long has been since the last time he count the time.

after some time passed Jason Thompson walks forward. he stops face to face with the old man. Leofwin recognized the face of the young man in front of him.

Jason is about two years older than Maxwell. he seemed more mature. Jason has black hair, so black that it is bright. he has a scar under his under lip. he has thick eyebrows. he is so white he almost seems pale. he is devilish attractive.

"hello old, old friend."

said Jason in a sarcastic tone of voice.

"be aware that I cut off the tongue of the last kid who wasn't respectful with his elders."

said Master Leofwin Hampton in a intimidating tone.

Jason felt offended by the arrogance of the old man. he thought that it was stupid to be treat like that by a person who is less important than him. he felt so much superior with his job.

he is a young powerful man. he has the job and money to be called an important person. he is now the second most important person on the company for which he works. he blackmailed the CEO in order to make sure that he is never mistreated nor kicked out of the job.

"I see, you are the same old man. thanks for your sacrifice. I am only going to warn you once, if you don't tell me where is Maxwell Altham. with all due respect, but less charming guys are going to interrogate you."

said Jason with malice.

he laughs in a not so natural form that he sounded more like an animal making love to another animal and less like a human laughing.

it was clear that he wanted to make sure that the old man will know that he is 'the bad guy.' and that he doesn't care about the old man's safety, even if they knew each other on their past. he didn't care, not even when Jason owns his freedom to the old man.

"I can't believe how far from the righteous path had you walked. sooner or later, but at some moment you are going to suffer the price for walking on darkness with no care for your actions."

said Leofwin Hampton feeling disappointed to see the horrible fate that Jason has build for himself. he feels pity for the horrible end that awaits someone as rotten as is the young man that is leaving right now.

Jason keeps walking on the corridors of the prison as he leaves following a guard. he looks at the multiple prisoners on the prison. Jason asks if it is true that there is a serial killer with 'cry' or 'sorrow' for nickname.

the guard looks at him in the same way a person looks at something that is irritating. the guard tells him that it is 'tear' the word he was trying to find. the guard affirms that such monster is one of the many prisoners.

Jason keeps asking about dangerous prisoners like Dionicio Juarez or Marcus 'Italian-Gun' Marino; those two are some of the most powerful and dangerous Gangsters on the whole world. those two are the only two prisoners that are heads of the mafia.

Jason asks about the most dangerous prisoners. the guard is silent. not because he can't think of anyone dangerous, but because most of the prisoners can be consider as the most dangerous.

the guard tells him to not worry about those prisoners. Jason asks about Maxwell.

the guard is silent and he feels nervous. Jason with suspicion asks once more about Maxwell. he asks about how probable can be for someone like Maxwell to escape from a prison that has some prisoners that are even more dangerous.

in few words Jason wanted to know if a nobody like Maxwell used help from some guards to escape. Jason wanted to understand how can someone with no power nor strength can escape when stronger and more powerful figures are behind bars.

the guard tries to change the topic. Jason keeps insisting about talking of the first guy to escape from that prison. no one has escape from there since it was build. well no one until Maxwell did it few days ago.

Jason kept talking to the guard on his way out.

walking on the opposite direction is a man who seems to be in between his forties-fifties.

this stranger has a long grey beard. he has a black mustache. he has some old fashioned hair style, the natural color of his hair is black, but for age or whatever reason he had many grey and white hairs which made his hair seem gray-ish or brown-ish. his right eye is on a golden color and his left eye is blue.

this gentleman is wearing clothing from the eighteen hundreds. on his left hand he has a golden watch.

for some particular reason the appearance of this man brought the attention of Jason who looks at him and he stops him. Jason asks for his name.

the man looks at Jason for a moment. the man is frowning as he looks at the guard who seems to be tired. the man smiles in a gentle way.

"sorry gentleman, but I am no one. if you are interested on me, I am just a writer working on the beginning of his most important work. it may not be famous, but it will be majestic."

said the stranger on a hoarsely voice.

"may I know the title of your previous work?"

asked Jason out of interest.

"all the copies had been already sold. I have a feeling that you are going to really love my next work. I am going to make sure to give you a copy once it is done."

said the stranger with a sinister smirk.

Jason ignores the stranger as he keeps walking with the guard at his side.

once outside of the prison Jason walks around of the parking lot. there is a feminine voice calling for his name. he looks around. he looks at Rose in front of a limousine. Rose is the name of Maxwell's fiancee.

with a huge smile Jason walks towards the lovely lady in front of him. she puts her arms around of Jason's shoulders. she looks at him with desire dress as love.

he kisses her lovely crimson red lips. he whispers on her ears telling her that her lips are red as blood. jokingly he tells her that her lips are a representation of her poisonous true-self. she feels uncomfortable at first, but then she forces a smile.

"in a year we will be officially husband & wife. aren't you enthusiastic? because I am."

said Rose with an angelic soft voice.

Jason laughs hysterically. in his face it shows how much disgust he feels about the idea of having for wife a woman who slept many nights on Maxwell's bed.

"are you really going to have a white dress? I mean. don't take it the wrong way, but I had never heard about a whore wearing white for her wedding."

said Jason intentionally trying to humiliate her with his words.

many may question if Jason really loves Rose, the truth is that he loves her on his own twisted way. he loves her, but he can't surpass the idea of thinking that Maxwell slept with her many times, he saw and had a taste of her skin.

Jason fears the idea of Rose comparing him to Maxwell on silence. he is afraid that she is going to compare him to Max on bed. his inferiority complex is bigger than his ego.

Jason gets inside of the limousine. he calls Rose's name. she enters inside of the car. she is looking at the floor feeling sad & tired of Jason's hostility towards her.

Rose is trying to understand him. he was the one who told her/ forced her to seduce Maxwell. she never wanted to sleep with another man nor pretend to love him, it was Jason's idea and jet she is the one who is taking the blame.

Jason touches Rose's face and lips. he kisses her. he tells her some nice things on the ear. he asks her to forgive him. Jason admits that he was wrong and he justifies his actions by saying that it is because Maxwell escaped from prison.

Jason calls to some Gangsters and he asks them to search for Maxwell on the whole city. he offers many millions for Maxwell's head on a stake.

"do you really think that he will be so stupid to no run out of the city? I mean he can't be that stupid when you are so powerful."

said Rose on a seductive tone of voice.

"do you think that I care? if I want him dead is to recover my pride as a man. the pride that I lost when he was so happy sleeping with you. this is not for you, this is for me."

said Jason with so much rage that he almost sounded like yielding.
