introduction of the Becker Family.

on the Martyrium Kingdom there are many important noble families. one of those many families is the Becker family; the head of the Becker Family is the Baronet Acton Becker the 4th.

the Becker Family used to be one of the most respectable families on the Kingdom. but their prestige ended with Archduke Acton Becker the 3rd.

the former leader of the family, he took the choice of helping the former King Ronald Cromwell. the Archduke used his power and resources on a civil war which costed his life. it also costed the social status of the Becker Family which is now on 'ruins.'

now the actual head of the Becker Family is helping Logan with everything that he can. he didn't just used his resources, but he also helped Logan Cromwell to get assassins inside of the Kingdom. he allowed assassins to get closed to the king. and he even helped Logan to meet other nobles who were willingly to betray the king.

the Becker family is in 'ruins' technically, but they still have the connections, they still have the resources, and they still have the power to influence aristocrats whom owned their lives or money to the Becker family.

Baronet Acton Becker blamed the king for the struggles of his family. his first wife died by an unknown illness. the Baronet has three children, two boys and a girl. it was his desire to rebuild their honor what pushed him to take part on this fight. he thought that by helping Logan, he was creating an opportunity for his 'children' to have a future.

today the Baronet Acton Becker is having a meeting with other nobles. among all the nobles there are four important figures on the meeting.

Count Eadley Acker, a nobleman who belongs to an old aristocrat family that has been serving for the Cromwell royalty since the beginnings of the Kingdom.

Duke Edred Stone, a nobleman who achieved his status after fighting in a savage war, in which he was General and he fought at Ronald Cromwell's side.

Count Delfino Sidney, a nobleman who's ancestors made a fortune by working under the Cromwell royalty's shadow. the Sidney family started doing the dirty work for the Cromwell family, but they eventually became wealthy & powerful enough to get the status of Counts. not everyone acknowledge the Sidney family as nobility, but they all do respect them.

Duke Lucan Whitby, the Whitby family is infamous for their ways of achieving power. it is common knowledge that the 'first' Whitby killed his own brother in order to get his social status. ever since the first Whitby, they teach to their successors to be greedy and to do anything for power & glory. they are not people to be trusted.

Baronet Acton Becker was having this meeting in secret. not even his servants nor his children knew about this secret meetings.

Logan Cromwell went to the Becker residency for a quick visit. there are things that he needs to talk about with the Lord of the castle. there is a job they have to finish.

Logan Cromwell walks inside of the garden. he sits next to Baronet Acton Becker. there is a long silence for a moment. none of them seems to be ready to talk first.

"sir Logan Cromwell. I am grateful for your sudden visit. I have the knights you requested ready for your Lordship's use. I am working with a merchant on the price for the poison. soon I will have it on my hands, a poison that can kill someone with drops."

said Acton Becker feeling proud.

"thanks, thanks to you, our plan is moving faster than I anticipate it. but are you ready to pay the price if you are found guilty of treason by the loyal's of the crown. the eldest prince may even execute your whole family."

said Logan testing Acton's loyalty.

there is no trust in between them. the only thing in between them is a mutual wish to eliminate every member of the Manley royal family.

the last name of the royal family used to be Cromwell. but the king before Bradley left his Kingdom on hands of his bastard son, a man who didn't carry the Cromwell last name. some noblemen & noblewomen were unhappy with the choice, but no one oppose the king Bradley Manley, not when the other choice was Ronald Cromwell.

Logan Cromwell has no title nor power. for that reason not everyone treats him with respect. Acton Becker the 4th knows how hard is losing the respect of others. so he is respectful towards Logan.

Logan is only pretending to be nice to Acton. the truth is that he is only using him like a pawn, if anything goes wrong then Acton can be thrown away. Acton knows that, and he accepts it without doubting.

"how is your daughter doing? I think we can use her on our favor."

said Logan while drinking tea.

Sir Acton Becker takes a dagger out of his pockets. he aims the dagger at Logan's throat. the dagger makes a small cut.

"don't you ever dare to drag my daughter into this labyrinth of treason & blood. I am doing this to reclaim my kid's rightful place, I wish for them wealth & health."

said Acton feeling rage.

Logan smiled as he lets him know that he was just joking. Acton puts his dagger away. Logan looks at the precious rocks on it. it sees that the dagger was made with gold and silver. Logan asks if it is a family treasure.

Acton nods. he smiles as he talks about the history behind the dagger. the dagger belonged to a previous patriarch of the family who saved a princess. the dagger was a gift to him. later the princess became his bride, that was how the Becker family acquired the title of Archdukes.

"I will be back soon. remember that the only poison that we seek is 'Retoño Divino', also known as the poison that can kill Gods."

said Logan with a creepy smile.

Acton drinks tea with a peaceful smile. Logan gives him some news about their chase after Alice. Acton doesn't like the sound of the news. they need to kill every Manley as soon as possible.

Logan starts to talk about his brother and his allies. Logan is afraid that his brother is too weak to continue with his job. he fears that Thurstan won't be able to follow this war till the end. he fears for his brother.

Logan stands up. he says goodbye before leaving. he is followed by four hooded men, those men are working for Logan as his guards.

Holly Becker, the only daughter of the Baronet Sir Acton Becker. she was walking around of the castle. she saw Logan leaving the castle. she enters inside the garden curious to know in what is her father working.

Holly knows that her dad only goes to the garden for two reasons. he is either there to think or he is there to work on his secret business.

Holly feels joy to see her dad. Acton may not be a great man, but he is an excellent father. he has done everything on his power to take care and guide all his kids.

Acton is worry for his daughter. she was engaged to a young lord from an important family, but he left her for another woman, because the Becker family lose their reputation. ever since then, Acton has been trying to find a proper husband to his daughter.

"father I don't need of a prominent, rich, heroic husband. I am happy for my brothers to be happy with their wives. all my joy comes for taking care of the castle, and my sweet father."

said Holly with a sweet smile.

"oh honey, papa is only trying to give you the place you deserve. I only want my children to be recognized by the world as the descendants of royalty. our family's story begins with a princess and a knight of a noble heart. it can't end like this."

said Acton with an honest smile.

Acton may be playing with fire, but inside of his heart, he believes to be doing the right thing. he believes that he can save the reputation of his family. he wants to give so much to his children.

"father, I don't care if we are no longer nobility. I don't need of a place among aristocrats. I am the happiest when I am with you, and my brothers. our family is perfect as it is."

said Holly with all the joy of her heart.

Holly stands up. Acton looks by accident at a scar on her left leg. Acton feels awful. his first wife was Holly's mother. she is the one who died by the illness. she died when Holly was just a baby.

his second wife was a woman of a better social status, who was obsessed with Acton. he married her for power. with her he had his two sons. it was later that he learned that she wasn't right of the head. she was violent with his daughter.

till this day he regrets with all his heart the mistake that he committed, by not been able to protect his daughter. his second wife is at the moment on a mental hospital.

Holly has never blamed her father for anything. she knows that every decision, good or bad. every decision he makes is for the family. she also knows the weight of his guilt.

"oh my little girl. I hope you don't blame me. I was selfish enough to start a civil war. I helped to start a war on name of our family's honor. I am a bad father, and a terrible man. I don't deserve none of my kids."

whispers Acton Becker feeling guilt.

a butler comes close to him. the butler has some news for the Baronet. Acton listens to the news about the struggle between the families, those that are loyal to Cromwell and those who are loyal to Manley.

things aren't so good. in the first few days, the nobles who were on Cromwell's side had the advantage of the surprise, but now after some days. are those who are loyal to the crown, whom are having the advantage. there is a mutual struggle at both sides.

those who are neutral on this civil war are the ones who are on the best position. Acton knows that if he is exposed as a traitor, his whole family will be on danger. he is thinking about sending his 'children' away. the victory is not as evident as he thought it could be.

"I need to hide my children now. old man Schmidt, you know better than anyone that I am taking part on something dangerous. is time for me to take this game serious."

said Sir Acton Backer as he directs his words to the butler.

the Baronet goes back inside. his eldest son is away with his wife. the second son is on the castle with his fiancee. Acton Backer is thinking about keeping his 'children' away for some time until he wins or loses the war.

"father you had been all the day so nervous. I hope that you aren't doing anything wrong. I am worry for you father."

said Alice with sadness on her face.

"don't worry my child. trust me, your father is no fool, your father will never commit a stupid mistake twice. no mistake that can affect our family."

said Acton with a fake smile of hope.

a butler informs the Baronet that a merchant is asking for him. the merchant seems to wish to make a deal, a deal about some exotic poison. Acton laughs loudly when he thinks well about which poison it is.

Holly asks to her father if it is really that important. she asks him why does he needs the poison. Acton ignores the questions and he hugs her. then he kisses the forehead of his daughter. he turns around. he goes to see the merchant.
