It was a quiet day in the student council's meeting room the classes have just finished the classrooms are empty and the fields were filled with students trying to hack at each other with swords as the student council president watched from their meeting room a cup of tea in hand
Sitting across from her was her always practically emotionless peace officer eating cake with a passive expression plastered on to her face
Shiro Yamada sighed in bliss. It was one of the quieter days of the council, one without the shenanigans of the committee and only the sound of battle from outside
It was peaceful
"president this is urgent!!!" the door slammed open revealing the vice president Takiko seemingly alarmed
Or… maybe… not?
"let me guess, it's either the Madog or the president of the committee?" Shiro Yamada asked in a bored drawl
"precisely president, those cretins tried to start a campaign to raid the council!!!" she all but shouted
"Why aren't any of you reacting!!!" she asked looking at the bored expression on Shiro's face and the usual emotionless one on Shinoe's
"Let it be, Sagara would reign them in," she said taking a tentative sip of tea "this happened before, I just forgot to tell the council" she added
"What!?!?" Takiko shrieked "what do you mean those idiots did it before?! and that you forgot to tell us?!" she asked
"oh it's nothing to be worried about" she waved the problem aside "it was just a civil war between 3 factions," she said calmly
Takiko sweatdropped
"How can you be so calm about this!!" she asked angrily
"Sagara will take care of it" surprisingly it was Shinoe that answered still nibbling her slice of cake
"what would that unmoving lousy-" she stopped mid-rant as a fork of silver was thrown right beside her head embedding itself in the wall behind her
A knot of dread began to tie itself in her stomach as Takiko craned her head slowly to the source of the projectile
She shivered
On the couch, previously emotionless was Shinoe a subtle frown on her face and an aura of annoyance like a cloud of miasma radiating from her person with a promise of pain if she dares continue speaking
"don't talk badly of my friend," she said the barest hints of anger in her voice
That alone made Takiko shiver, Shinoe has never shown this much expression before in front of… well, anyone.
"Oh… it seems you've gotten close to Kosuke?" Shiro asked suddenly breaking the tension in the room as Shinoe's face went back to being emotionless "when did that happen?" she arched an eyebrow
"not telling" Shinoe looked to the side in a pout
FLASHBACK
Shinoe Yuki wandered around the school barely noticed
It was Lunchtime and she slowly weaved her way into the cafeteria, people barely batted an eye at her
She'd always liked her low presence and short stature. it helped her get by the general populace undisturbed
She turned a corner and accidentally bumped into someone causing her to fall on her backside left wondering if she'd turned too early
"Yuki?" she heard a voice call out to her uncertainly. She looked up to a tall menacing figure wearing a green shirt with the written words in english that she didn't understand with his blazer tied to his hips black framed glasses bared down on her
Sagara Kosuke her peace officer counterpart of the committee
She immediately tensed anticipating an attack bringing her hands out in front of her one out to deflect blows and the other at guarding the neck and chin
This was when Shinoe joined the council as a first-year and the relations with the committee were still on the terms of "Kill on sight", every encounter with them was a fight at the time
Shinoe knew she couldn't engage in direct combat. That wasn't her style, she prefers staying on the sidelines taking her enemies by surprise and knocking them out silently
And at the time Sagara Kosuke was feared because the others feared him. he was a man surrounded by myth and Legend with details so fuzzy people couldn't make heads or tails about which was real
In some stories,, he was depicted as the trump card of the committee almost never appearing out in the battlefield
In others, he was depicted as a fighter so skilled he finishes the fight before people knew it even started. explaining why he's never on the battlefield
Anyways to Shinoe, it was clear that fighting him on even footing would result in nothing but her defeat
Tensing when he reached a hand out to her she felt fear grip her as she closed her eyes anticipating the pain
Shinoe Yuki was not like the others. She didn't like fighting, she only did when she has too and unlike the others, she wasn't used to the pain that came with the violence
Instead of a painful blow or a painful attack, she felt a hand clasp at her shoulders bringing Shinoe to her feet before a warmth engulfed her head as she felt she was being… patted?
"are you ok?" she opened her eyes to see her committee counterpart leaning down to pat her head "don't worry I don't attack like the others" he smiled reassuringly at her
"you don't?" she asked emotionlessly but inside she felt a relief
She felt her shoulders relax with the presence of Sagara exuded… well it was more so the fact that his face stayed stoic like her's too most of time
"that's right, I don't" he smiled and stopped patting her his green eyes flashed with something akin to sorrow "I keep the peace," he said standing and walking away from her
Shinoe stared at his retreating figure wondering what he meant by keeping the peace. Suddenly piquing her interest she followed when he turned the corner
Peering down the empty hallway her eyebrows rose as Sagara leaned on the wall for support clutching his leg left
He was injured?
Why did he hide it earlier?
Did he perhaps think she'd attack him in such a condition?
NO, she rationalized. Sagara Kosuke was never seen in the battlefields it was as if he hated the fighting and he said so himself he didn't want to fight her he wanted to uphold the peace… whatever that meant
"Sagara!" she flinched as a voice broke her reverie. a voice that caused a knot of dread to form in the pit of her stomach as Sagara straightened his posture
It was Ashima Asahi. The hellraiser himself clad in his black uniform like Sagara's but opened the buttons of the blazer letting it hang by his sides where his hands swung stiffly in their metal-studded gloves his white hair sticking out the most
Shinoe felt her knees weaken from the fear she felt. Ashima was a merciless fighter he would no doubt find her in the corner and attack her
"about that ramen place I was talking about-" the hellraiser began before he turned his gaze sharply to Shinoe narrowing before charging at her with a fist reared back
"sneaking up on Sagara are you?" he said as Shinoe waited for the punch to land her mind wanting her to run but her legs just won't move!
Suddenly there was a flash of green and a second later she saw the hellraiser Ashima the rampaging demon, merciless demon king, the brawler of the committee,
Flat on his face an arm behind his back and a knee on his neck. Specifically Sagara's knee
