Awakening

it was an autumn afternoon, that Saturday was a day like any others, Jack was returning from school, exhausted physically and mentally by PE and math test, Jack was a mediocre person neither clever nor athletic if there is a vote on every person in the world then from 0 to 10 his vote is 5.

walking down the street the autumn wind blow on his face, bringing little chill as winter is near, the falling orange leaves bring a kind of nostalgic feeling but suddenly

"Jack!"

"Woah! oh, it's you, Theo, you scared me"

his name is Theodore a child wood friend of Jack and his neighbor, they were very close as they spend most of the time together and for Jack, Theo was like a big brother always by his side in the time of need.

the two boys chatted jokingly as they went home.

"... hahaha that was so stupid, ok then I had still things to do, see ya, Theo"

"mhm! see you tomorrow at the usual place!"

Jack opened the door, no light in the silence and lonely house, his parent work oversea and monthly send him money so he has to do all the chores by himself after launch he played videogames until night, so like any other Saturday he had to go to the supermarket and then prepare the dinned

he went out, the sun was setting, the sky was dyed of orange and dark blue as the sun was leaving the sky for the stars and moon the street light start to light up as he walks down the street as the nightfall, the temperature starts to drop too.

then suddenly the sky light up brighter than the morning, Jack looked up and on his face, it was like it was written fear, up in the sky there was an apocalyptic view, thousand of little light falling from the high, normally a small asteroid should be disintegrated by the atmosphere but these light don't look like to being affected at all they just keep falling and then

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

the explosion sound was deafening, it's like an air raid during a war, the tall building far away starts falling on themselves like a Jenga tower, explosion everywhere, even though he doesn't know what he has to do but guided by his instinct he starts running to find something to save his life but...

*BOOOOOOM!*

then nothing, only black.

but after an unknown amount of time, a sudden sound ringed in Jack's mind.
