#WHEN THINGS GO SIDEWAYS#

Mythias.

Before Ryan could get up he falls drowsily back onto the sofa bed. Mythias bends down and picks up the tranquillizer that Ryan pulled out before he fell unconscious.

"Got to love this but I will kill you for another time, preferably when your conscious" He says slightly chuckling to himself as he waits for me to follow.

"A trank gun?" I question.

I hear a knock on the door and knew it wasn't the time to make conversation so I follow him out the way he came. The car ride was quiet for a long time as we finally reach his mansion on the other side of the world. Just kidding but it was pretty far.

"Why did you bring me here Mythias?" I question him feeling goose bumps on my legs because of the cold. He holds my hand and silently pulls me to the former room I used though the door that had broken down was now replaced accordingly.

"Heard you found the shooter." He says while shutting the door.

"I can't take all the credit now can I?"

"I knew Madeline would be the perfect bait but what you did after-"

"There was a reason. She betrayed The Black Anarchy. I just did the dirty work for you!" I was getting angry at him for bringing it up but he seemed to be masked with a blank face. I didn't exactly kill her just enough to make her bleed in pain.

"Didn't know you were a part of The Black Anarchy" He says while walking closer to me.

"No one's innocent in this world. It's real hard to find those who are loyal these days. Isn't it?" I say as he grits his jaw.

"Dorsten. Luke Dorsten. He's dead isn't he? Though my father would've killed him anyway." I say while nearing Mythias seeing him look away as I remember the time Luke saved me from Oliver. Luke was part of The Red Knights but worked alongside of The Black Anarchy and must've gotten attached to The Black Anarchy-

This chase seemed a bit easy and something was off, I thought to myself...

"I killed him. Before the ceremony." He says. I take it into consideration as Mythias seats on the bed and holds his head in his hands. If it wasn't Luke who pulled the trigger, then who?

"He said you're honest and loyal. You were about to accept his offer weren't you?" He says while looking towards me while rubbing the ink on his left hand, 'trust 'n' loyalty'.

Though all I was searching from him was the truth. I was too deep in thought as he stands and walks away leaving me to myself.

The answer to his question was not easy. I was thinking of accepting but when he arrived I felt myself hitch a breath. I was never affected by anyone but this man was so infuriating and confusing that I don't know what it is.

I don't hold a symbol of a knife or an anchor but I know that I'm a Night Fallen.

A Night Fallen just like his Grandmother, as it was the last words that escaped her lips...barely above a whisper.

MYTHIAS' POV...

Earlier that night, I had stationed Grey Well as the shooter to aim at a very specific person. I didn't want to just take the life of my target but first I wanted to take their happiness away, their hard work and most of all, what made them want to live.

As soon as I fled from the hall I rang one of my most trusted men; Dan.

"Boss. Everything's gone sideways." Dan said hurriedly. He couldn't have made it more obvious. "Grey Well's down."

At that point anger got the best of me and I couldn't wait to see who my next victim was. They better brace themselves I thought.

I went straight back to my mansion and ordered some of my men to fetch Grey Well and leave as soon as possible since the security for the 'Luxor' building was top notch. Breaking in a person was easy but pulling out a dead body isn't as easy as it sounds.

That night I studied the weapon; the snipper. I knew a single bullet was missing from its pocket. The bullet that went through my mother's chest.

I couldn't get much out if it and neither could Jake since the fingerprints were cleaned off or the person must've been wearing gloves. Though deep down I know not everyone slips away as clean as they would like to. The answer lay in front of me but I couldn't put my finger on it. Most mafia's did their jobs and were gone but this was a double ambush.

After leaving Alex I knew I would be a little calmer if she were here for some reason.

"Who do you think did this?" Dan asks as I look from him to Jake. The three of us were assembled in my office taking in every scenario.

"The question we should be asking first is 'Why someone would want her dead'" I say while zoning out.

"That doesn't help. Literally everyone wants her dead, or wanted her dead?" Jake says as I narrow my eyes at him.

"Then why are we sitting here and staring at the weapon." Dan says as I slowly begin to agree with him.

"Grey Well. Take me to him. Now"

The three of us made our way to the morgue and stand still by the lifeless body. Jake picks up the report that was of Grey Well's and scans through it.

I stare at Dan and Jake as they make their way out the back and I motion for them to leave. On hearing the approach of footsteps I set my face into a neutral expression and turn on hearing his voice.

"Is this a coincidence that we meet yet again?" Ryan Rekes says as he enters through the doors with buff boys behind him standing in a pyramid like order.

"Once an incident. Twice a coincidence. And now it seems to have become a pattern." I state while placing one of my hands above the other in a bodyguard stance.

"There seems to be a significant person missing whose whereabouts you most likely hold."

"And which significant person might that be?"

"My Fiancé!" Rekes shouts as his men cower away when I flip the lighter and set the morgue to burning ashes.

Didn't want anyone getting close to finding the person who murdered my mother. Can't be too sure now can I?
