Chapter Nine - I Got No Place To Go Will It Be Alright?

"Emily... Emily... Honey... Wake up it's Billie..." Billie said whispering in my ear.

I opened my eyes; I regarded it was night. "Oh, what do you want? Do you have to do your 'work'?"

I asked angrily, groaning, forcing my head into my pillow. "No, I don't have any 'work', I finished all of it... I'm sorry if I made you mad or anything earlier. I should have listened to what you had to say, Emily. Instead of being a complete a**hole. If you don't like your school in a month, I'll try to do something, y' know? Do you forgive me?"

I looked at Billie's emerald eyes for a moment, I watched him as he sat down in my bed beside me, "Err mmm... I guess so." I replied.

"Well, oh okay. What movie is this?" Billie asked while looking at my TV.

I replied, "Ordinary World, well, I watch it every night, it helps me sleep."

"Oh, why do you watch this... EVERY... F**KING night?" Billie asked laughing.

"Whenever mom and Jason would fight or when I have trouble falling asleep, I watch it... Well, more like fall asleep to it. I suppose 'cause it has you in it," I acknowledged.

Billie laughed, "'Cause, it has me in it? That's the funniest sentence I've probably ever heard."

Then he took his phone out and went to the camera, then snapped a few pictures of both of us. "Emily... Do you mind if I ask you something? Am I a good dad? Like a GOOD DAD?" Billie said, looking at the pictures of both of us.

"YES, you are. You are better than Jason, obviously. Well, I didn't know my biological dad very well... Mom or Lynn said he died in a car crash when I was like 4 or 5," I acknowledged Billie.

"Well... Oh, nevermind. Emily, you have a tragic past. Kid, you remind me of myself when I was about your age. I lost my dad when I was ten. That was probably the worst day of my life. I mean, your parents, that's the only thing we have to raise and to take care of us, y' know?" Billie answered.

"Yeah, I suppose so," I replied.

Billie asked, "Well, what do you want to watch? How do you work this thing?" Billie said having trouble with the Xbox controller while I was laughing.

"Uh... Well... What would you want to watch?" I asked while Billie was handing me the Xbox controller.

"I don't know... Maybe Stranger Things? Bullet In A Bible? Cuatro? I don't know," Billie said while he started typing in Cuatro.

"Well, have you seen Cuatro?" Billie asked.

I answered, "No."

"I guess, 'cause it has me in it, you will go to sleep," Billie said laughing. I fell asleep. That was the last thing I remembered. I looked at my phone it was 10:55, then I noticed Billie sleeping beside me, with his glasses, shirt, and pants off. I stared at him for a moment in complete utter shock and discomfort. He was sleeping with his mouth open, with drool coming out. I didn't want to wake him up, I went into the living room where I saw Adrienne sitting on the couch.

"Hey, Emily. Where the f**k is Billie? After he went in there and apologized he didn't come back in the bed." Adrienne said worriedly.

"Well... I know where he is. Come here," I said while guiding her into my room.

She and I laughed at Billie sleeping in my bed, "We'll just leave him alone, he is exhausted" Adrienne told me.

About an hour later, we noticed Billie walk out of my room.

He said yawning, "Hey, I didn't notice I fell asleep in your bed last night. It was so comfortable, I also didn't want to wake you up." Billie sat down beside me on the couch.

"Emily, I snapped a few pictures of Billie sleeping," Adrienne whispered and she laughed.

"What are you laughing at, Eighty?" Billie asked.

"Oh, nothing, Billie. Just a funny picture of something," Adrienne replied.

"Well, if it's so funny... Can I see it?" Billie asked.

Adrienne sent the pictures to Billie on Instagram and she said, "Well... This is what I was laughing at. I would not post them or anything, Billie." Adrienne said smiling.

"Oh, dam, I look so funny when I'm asleep," Billie said laughing.

A few weeks later, it was a month since I arrived at my school; I didn't seem to enjoy it that much. My grades were also starting to show it, I made C's or D's on the tests and quizzes. One day, I and Billie arrived home from school,

"Hey, Emily... We have to talk about some things, I'll wait for Eighty to get in here," Billie acknowledged me and I noticed they were agitated.

"Okay, it looks like she is here. Come here, sit down." Billie said sitting at the kitchen table.

"Well... We've got a call from your school today, it appears like your NOT making that good of grades. Is there something going on, is someone bullying you? C'mon, tell us," Billie said disappointed.

I started crying, "Yes, there is something going on... I DON'T LIKE IT THERE! I'm being treated differently than EVERYONE ELSE, I only go there for Nick, and I don't have any friends," I said bawling my eyes out.

As I could tell, it appalled Billie. "Oh my f**king god, why didn't you TELL US? Wait... Who's Nick?" Billie asked.

"I don't know, it's probably because you're always busy. I feel like I won't be listened to," I acknowledged Billie and Adrienne.

"Y' know, that's NOT TRUE, Emily! We would listen to you whenever you have trouble. Well... You still haven't told us about Nick. Who's that?" Billie said.

"Oh... Nick... UMM... A boy I have a crush on..." I acknowledged Billie.

I locked myself inside my room, then I sat down on the floor. Then I heard Billie and Adrienne starting to disagree about something.

I heard Adrienne say," Oh, c'mon, Billie. Joey and Jakob made it through PUBLIC SCHOOL!"

Then Billie fought back, "Well... Adrienne, she's different from them. She has been through so much emotional trauma."

Tears started rolling down my face because I remember when Jason and mom would fight.

I cried myself to sleep, I woke up to Billie knocking at the door, "C'MON EMILY! UNLOCK THE F**KING DOOR!" Billie screamed.

I unlocked the door then Billie barged into my room.

"Sorry, you had to hear us fight. We barely do it. I was thinking, if you don't like your school within a few weeks, I might enroll you in a home school. I don't know, honey. I'll leave you alone... Well, you might not go to school tomorrow, 'cause all the stuff you witnessed earlier and I'm taking you to a doctor, to probably get you some medication for all those issues, like your anxiety, ADD, insomnia, and depression. Don't worry, honey. Everything will be okay trust me. Do you want to hear a song I wrote for you, it's called Drama Queen?" Billie asked while holding an acoustic guitar in his hand.

"She is my drama queen, she is so wild and reckless she is my drama queen she dangles from her necklace daddy's little bundle of joy out of a magazine everyone's drama queen Is old enough to bleed now... Aye, little drama queen From here to San Francisco everyone's drama queen I think she's going psycho Daddy's little bundle of joy..." He sang.

"That's off of Tré, how could that be about me?" I wondered.

"Well, Lynn and me, we were great friends. Well... You wouldn't believe it, she went to a Green Day concert before I met Eighty. She was my uh... girlfriend..." Billie said.

"You got to be kidding me, she was your girlfriend?" I asked it surprised me that my mom was Billie Joe Armstrong's girlfriend, I never would have guessed.

"You look just like her. You have those beautiful sea-blue eyes and her blonde hair. I bet you wouldn't believe this, uh... how can I put this? She wanted us to be your godparents. That's one reason why we could adopt you," Billie said looking at the ceiling.

"What were the other reasons?" I asked Billie.

"Oh... Don't mind that, just ignore what I just said," Billie said like he was trying to keep something from me.

"Well, I'm going to bed, goodnight," Billie said shutting the door. I kept thinking about Billie, keeping the reasons for how he could adopt me.
