Coffee

Yuna went to her room and prepared herself for slumber. She stripped off her clothes and placed them nicely on top of her nightstand. As she removed her clothing she remembered what the king told her about getting new clothing. "Right, I need to go shopping before I go on the mission tomorrow." She said to herself, making a mental note. She got in the bed and pulled the covers up around herself. "I guess this is my life now." She said as she drifted off to sleep.

Morning came and the sounds of a busy inn echoed through the walls. The noise woke Yuna up. When she opened her eyes, she saw that she was still in the same room where she went to sleep. She was still in the other world that she was transported to. "Still here I guess." She sighed as she got out of bed. She picked her clothes up and put them back on. "Guess I will go see Peter about breakfast and then find Elvin." She stopped to think for a moment. "Of course, I don't have to bring Elvin with me."

With that Yuna left the room and went to the main hall of the inn. Peter was standing behind the counter like he always does. "Good morning new blood!" Peter shouted at the sight of Yuna.

"Too early to be loud." She said, still groggy from her sleep. "You don't happen to have coffee, do you? I really need some coffee."

"I don't know what that is." Peter stated. "Is that a food or a beverage?" He asked.

"I am going to kill the king." Yuna said plainly. "He is a dead man."

"Coffee that important to you huh?" Peter asked. "Tell me what it is and I will see if I can whip something up similar."

"It's a drink made from beans." Yuna explained. "Ground up beans and ugh I don't know! I just drink it, and I NEED it."

"A drink made of beans?" Peter said. "That sounds interesting. Well I don't have anything like that but I can give you this." Peter slid a drink over to Yuna. "Drink that and tell me if you feel a little better."

Yuna just eyed the cup, sad that it did not contain her lifeblood beverage. She decided she would humor Peter and give it a try. She was shocked at the flavor. It was fruity yet smooth. A sweet flavor with a bit of a tang. With every drink she could feel energy flowing into her body. By the time she finished the cup she was full of life and refreshed. "I don't have a clue what that was Peter, but you are an amazing man."

"Oh stop." Peter said. "Just doing my part as innkeeper. Can't have you going off and murdering the king, no matter how much he deserves it. Here catch." Peter throws her a muffin with assorted berries in it. "Muffins are included in your stay. That drink though will be one bit."

"Well worth it." Yuna took her coin pouch out and gave Peter a bit. "Please have one of those ready for me every morning."

"I can do that." Peter said. "So, you going to that mage's house today?"

"That's the plan." Yuna said while playing with her empty cup. "First, I have to buy some clothes, I stick out like a sore thumb right now. That is not something I enjoy."

"I agree." Peter said. "Oh, that reminds me. I am sure you already found the bathroom in the hall, but there is a bathhouse out back, we do have it divided by gender. We have male, female, and other. So make sure you go into your appropriate bath. As for your laundry, if you place it in a bag and give me a bit I will have it washed and returned to you by the end of the day."

"Is there anything you can't do Peter?" Yuna teased.

The man lying on the ground began to stir. "Ugh my head." He grabbed the giant knot on top of his head. "What the hell happened?"

"Good morning there sir." Peter said. "I am afraid you did not pay your bar tab last night, and you stayed the night without paying first. So, I am going to need ten bits from you, right now. If you don't want to pay me, you can take it up with my gal here?"

Yuna looked down at the man and cracked her knuckles. "Oh shit I remember you." He said. "I'll pay!" The man pulled his coin pouch out and paid Peter the ten bits that he owed. After that the injured man stumbled out of the inn.

"Great job playing along there new blood." Peter said. "Here, for your trouble." Peter then handed Yuna three bits. "If you want a job as my enforcer, consider yourself hired." Peter smiled.

"I will think about it." Yuna said. "For now I need to leave and go clothes shopping. Where is the best store?"

"I would recommend the ones next to the guild hall." Peter explained. "They are run by other worlders such as yourself and tend to have the best selection."

"Thanks for the tip." Yuna said.

"Yuna!" Elvin shouted out as she entered the room. "Are you ready to leave for your mission?!"

"Oh hey Elvin." Yuna said. "I need to do a little bit of shopping first."

"I love shopping!" Elvin cheered. "I will take you to the best shops!"

"No." Yuna said plainly. "If you want to come, follow me."

"Oh right!" Elvin said. "I forgot about yesterday, sorry about that."

"I worry about you Elvin, I honestly do." Yuna said. "Well Peter, this is goodbye for the day. I will see you when I finish my mission."

"They call them quests here." Peter replied. "I will see you when you return. Safe travels!"

Yuna and Elvin make their way to the door and exit the inn. The sun is shining and the sky is a wonderful shade of blue. "Come Elvin, let's go shopping!" Yuna said excitedly.
