A TOUR OF HENRY'S MANSION

Peter was given the honors of showing us around. We followed him as he rattled off names and dates that I could not recognize while Henry sauntered along with us, a hand in his pocket. We were on his turf.

Henry's turf was huge!

"How long does it take for you to get to the dining room?" I wanted to know.

Henry chuckled, "I've never timed it, but we seldom have formal meals. I usually take most of my meals in my suite."

"What's a suite?" Jasmine asked.

"Like a personal apartment." I told her.

"Do you have a suite too?" Pearl asked.

"Not yet." I said. "But dad said I can have the Penthou..." I stopped at the look on Pearl's face.

"Anyway, I don't. I share a room with my sister." I said quickly.

Then I caught the look on Peter's face. On one hand, I'm trying to be just Sam, on the other, I needed to represent my pack.

Shouldn't those two be the same thing?

I shook my head, "Ah... Forget it! Living with family is the best!" I announced.

Jasmine nodded and smiled, "Yeah. I'll miss my parents if I had to live on my own."

Peter showed us the winter gardens, the tennis court, and the pool.

There was a roof top garden with a jacuzzi.

Henry's family collected paintings so their hallways looked like the inside of a museum.

Henry's garage had 6 cars for various uses. They were all dark red, except for the town car and limo. Their garage was very long so that the limo could fit.

Actually the entire mansion looked like a fancy version of our packhouse, except that the only other people in it besides us were the servants.

Henry's Mum and Dad were on a business trip.

"Your home is amazing." Jasmine told Henry, "I don't think there is anything like this in our pack."

"Does this place have a dungeon?" I asked.

In the basement, there was a games room with a pool table, and video games. It even had a bar table.

We should do this in our dungeon once the rogues stop trespassing.

"Is your home like this too?" Pearl asked me.

I thought of my mum and dad and Savy, "Nope, it's really different."

"Is it bigger? You don't look impressed at all. You didn't even look impressed at the cars or anything." Pearl said, "I guess you see this kind of thing everyday too, huh?"

I shook my head, "No way."

You'd have to be a Lorent Alpha or Beta family member to live like this back in my packlands.

"You guys can come over and see sometime." I said, "My home is really different."

"Really? You're inviting us?" Marcus sounded surprised.

I grinned, "Yeah, why not?"

Killion smiled too, "Shall I arrange for a playdate?"

Playdate! Hahaha, "Yeah, okay."

"I bet your home is huge!" Pearl said.

"Nope." Actually now that I thought about it, we were all cramped in the penthouse... "But I like it. It's really normal."

We had reached the end of my tour and were at the foyer.

Killion and Maxwell who had disappeared together halfway through the tour had magically reappeared with our coats and cars. I guess it was time to go home.

"Is that your car?" Henry spied the dark blue coupé at once. He walked over to it. Henry looked over it appreciatively, "Nice."

My car had just been Alpha Henry approved. I felt like it deserved some kind of ribbon for that.

"No wonder you weren't impressed by fancy cars." Pearl said.

"No, hey, my home is very normal okay?" I insisted.

"So is mine." Henry smirked.

"This is only normal for you." I waved at the hulking mansion behind me.

"Ditto, princess." Henry crossed his arms smugly.

I flared then, "Show me your training hall, let me punch you."

Peter looked alarmed, but my friends just laughed. What? Did they think I wouldn't?

Marcus sighed, "Sam..."

"I'd like to see how your pack manages with an Alpha like you." Henry smirked.

Was that a challenge?

"At least I don't make my betas cry!" I yelled.

"Everyone else cries though." Quipped Killion with a wink.

"Sam is going to be the Alpha?" Jasmine sounded surprised, "But she's a girl, shouldn't she be the Luna?"

"She only looks like a girl." Henry explained, "She's actually a monster."

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Don't agree to something like that, Sam!" Marcus laughed.

"But it's true. Ki should know, right?" Henry asked jokingly.

Ki smiled serenely, "Goddess is exactly what she looks like."

"What the hell." Marcus said.

But then I think they looked at me again, in my blue dress coat, standing on the stone porch, my dark blue hair waving in the breeze, my blue eyes laughing with them, and their expressions changed.

"What the hell." Marcus said again.

What? I stopped laughing. The two guys adverted their gaze and then Henry started asking Killion about the car. He had liked it but it was way below his budget. Killion nodded, totally understanding this train of logic. He also explained that while it was below the usual budget for a collector's car, it was still considered a luxury car and was rather comfortable for everyday driving, very low engine noises, handled well... Killion should be a car salesman. By the time he was done, not just Harvey, but Marcus, AND Peter had decided to check this car out the next time they went car shopping.
