chapter 33

Even though Alex told me there was no weight limit it still took me another 3 hours before I finished packing. I wanted to make sure that everything that I took with me I actually liked and wasn't simply taking up space like those ghastly pink monstrosity's. I shuddered as I binned the growing pile of clothes, god knew I didn't have the money to go shopping willy nilly now, even more so that I had to save up for an apartment. Even though Alex told me that I would be living with home for the first month, I still had to find a place for the remaining months so I had decided to do a quick google search and almost fainted. Why on earth was it so expensive to live in New York? It honestly put London to shame with the rental market, I figured I'd need to at least have a room mate maybe two, especially if I was gonna find a place near the office. I groaned at the thought of trying to convince Alex to let me get flat mates, it would be an uphill battle and after my last experience with flat mates, one I didn't really fancy the prospects of.

Dragging the two suitcases down the stairs was a struggle, my height and lack of muscle strength being major contributing factors and I almost fell face first several times on my descent down but some how made it down only to be stopped by a set of black shoes. Looking up I was met with a very amused Alex.

'You managing by yourself pumpkin? Or do you need help?' He asked me almost mockingly, ' Because our plane has a time slot it needs to leave in and we ain't got all night .'

I shot him a withering glare that seemed to do nothing and pursed my lips as he let out a grin before taking my suitcase from me and marching up to the car waiting for us outside. The journey to the airport was quiet but quick and this time I made sure to keep my mouth shut as we went through security unless Alex translated for me. Getting on the plane I quickly sat near the window so I could have something to lie on when I slept. Propping the pillow against the window I tried to get myself comfortable but someone kept tapping my shoulder and then my cheek. Growling I tried to bite the offending limb but it narrowly escaped.

'What do you want! I'm tired and hungry, leave me alone!'

'You sure your not still on your period?,' he grumbled as he put his hand away before smirking, ' I was gonna tell you there's s bed on the plane but clearly you don't want to know so...'

'Shut up and tell me where it is,' I grumbled as I stood up with my pillow in my hand. He simply shook his head and lead me to the room. It was small but all I cared about was the double bed calling my name. Pushing past him, I launched head first onto the bed. Quickly pulling the cover over me and sighing in content.

'Females and their periods,' I heard him grumble as he went to to the other side of the bed, no doubt stripping from yummy suit he'd worn all day that had me fighting my drool even in my hungover state.

'My period ends on the third day, you should know you had your fingers in me,' I grumbled back annoyed, 'now hurry up and cuddle me, I'm tired.'

After What felt like a few hours later, I woke up to Alex strapping me into the chair informing me that we were landing soon. I felt the beginnings of excitement trickle into me as I watched out the window as we glided over New York, I could see the Statue of Liberty far in the distance and let out a gasp of excitement.

'Don't worry, I'll give you a tour of New York once we get you settled home,' Alex said from behind me, his smile evident in his voice.

Turning to him, I merely raised an eyebrow before snorting, 'you said that about Paris and look how that ended. No thanks, I'd rather do it myself, don't need another city on my bucket list tainted.'

His face instantly fell into a deep frown but I couldn't care less, he had purposely hurt my feelings and broke his promise even if he tagged along with me and Daniel. I wasn't gonna forget it that easily, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

We soon landed and made it through security surprisingly quick, a wonder what speaking the same language does to you. Now crammed into a car with Alex, a tense awkward silence stretched between us and I itches to say something, say anything to make it go away but I refused to be first to break. The ball was firmly in his park, however I didn't expect the next words to come out his mouth.

'We need to set some ground rules,' He suddenly said, lips in a straight line.

'What do you mean ground rules? I already agreed to your shitty contract rules, what more do you want?' I asked entirely bewildered.

'No this is different. These rules will be regarding our living arrangements,' he said tensely, I stiffened in response, I already knew I wasn't gonna like it.

'Well if your putting ground rules, so am I, ' I announced raising my eyebrows in defiance, daring him to object, 'otherwise you can forget about it.'

He narrowed his eyes to that of a slit and a scowl crossed his face before grunting and looking away.

I smirked in victory barely containing my laugh, I'd finally won.
