Vetala's Back

I woke up hanging upside down.

"Uh..." I groaned.

I felt my head and it was swollen up.

"That's the second time I've been knocked out" I thought. "I really should tone down the pain factor." I thought.

As my vision cleared I looked around and saw Aurora and Max hanging upside down too. They obviously were hit on the head for good measure. Usually when logged out your character should also disappear but if your travelling as a party and one member hasn't logged out yet then your character will remain until they log out.

To put it simply I should have logged out faster.

I looked around again to see if I could spot our captors but there was no one there. Only a campfire burning.

I struggled and tried to break free of the rope binding my hands but it was of no use.

I then tried to equip my daggers but only got a notification telling me that I can't equip anything because I was binded.

I gritted my teeth.

I cried out. "Hello, is anyone there?!".

No one responded.

"If it knocked us out and tied us up it must have some level of intelligence" I thought.

I decided to wait and see.

Hours passed and I couldn't simply log out either. I started to panic and a million questions filled inside my head.

"Stay calm and take deep breaths" a voice in the back of my head.

"Who's there?!" I shouted. I felt nauseous.

"I said stay calm" the voice said. Suddenly I felt calm and I heard a notification.

-Ability activated: Vetala's Intuition. Calming Effect Applied.

"What?" I muttered.

At my side was a spirit. A man with long hair and for some reason no shirt.

"Who are you and more importantly why do you have no shirt?" I asked.

"Your order of importance is extremely strange but it makes sense why you wouldn't remember me." he said.

"Remember? I don't even know who you are!" I shouted.

"Calm down. You've never met a spirit before?" he asked me in a way that indicated he knew the answer.

"Well, I mean I have. One spirit but there's no way that's..." I was cut short by him smiling.

"Oh god it's you." I said.

He sighed, "Yes it's me vetala, the spirit who kidnapped your friends. Took you long enough" he said.

"But your creepy! And weird.. and definitely didn't look..." I paused and looked at his abs.

He raised his eyebrows. "I was possessing a corpse. And when I do that I get a bit... weird." he said. He continued, "I departed the area after giving your friends back, but then suddenly I got sucked into a portal and next thing I know I'm standing here with you panicking."

"That would be because of my ability" I responded.

"Whatever, now I'm stuck with you" he said.

I was going to respond with something clever, but before I could I heard loud footsteps.

A giant, deformed man walked in front of me.

"Dinners ready" It said.
