Chapter 16: Brother Yen

After the audition, Shen fie walked over to her and hugged her like her life depended on it .

    " Bie bie dear guess what"

    " What?" Xi bie asked with a bored expression.

   " You've been chosen for the role of the empress"

     " Really?" Xi bie was quite happy with herself.

   Seems like her effort his gone to waste after all.

She initially did not have any hope as her first audition was ruined but now she felt a lot better.

    " Oh dear it's really nice to see you smiling" Shen fie teased

    " Whatever, let me treat my humble manager and best friend to a meal"

Shen fie:" Really? Aren't you afraid I will leave you bankrupt?"

Xi bie rolled her eyes" it's my treat okay?"

   " Fine let's go" Shen fie said and dragged her to the car.

They went to a restaurant not really far from expensive and popular but it had a feeling of trust and contentment.

After ordering for their dishes, they were laughing and talking until Shen fie's phone rang cutting off their conversation.

Shen fie saw the caller ID and her body stiffened.

     Why his he calling me at this time.

Xi bie noticed her change in attitude and tried to ask her but Shen fie brushed it off and brushed it off and cut the call.

Not long after, Shen fie's phone rang again but this time, it wasn't a call but a text message.

           You dare to miss my call

          Aren't you bold now miss Shen

            Quit playing with fire

         I give you ten minutes to reach here          or you and your families with hate the                 reason for your existence.

Shen fie felt all her souls have been sucked up by this six lines of text message. Her face turned pale and it looks as if she had aged two times her normal age.

" Xio fie is everything alright?" Xi bie asked curiously.

Shen fie jolted out of nightmare, she stood up abruptly .

  " Erm..erm.. am fine bie bie am sorry I have to go, I have something urgent to deal with, if you don't mind maybe another day.

Immediately after saying this Shen fie Carried her bag and ran out of the restaurant.

Xi bie stared at her best friend curiously .

  What could have made this fearless best friend of hers this scared. She clearly saw her reaction towards the call and the text message but she still managed to keep a calm demeanor.

    What exactly is she hiding.

After spending few hours alone surfing and fiddling with her phone . Xi bie carried her bag and went out of the restaurant after paying her bills. By then the whole cloud was dark except for the reflection from the shadowed moon which seems to be appearing slowly.

   Seems like it is the full moon already.

Xi smiled sadly, she really missed her master.

     SWOOSH!!!

A force hit her suddenly and she lost her balance.

   " What the.." she was cut off by the man.

  " Sorry...sorry..sorry miss" he said and ran off.

Soon after some men also ran by and Xi bie quickly cut their attention.

   " Miss did you see any man just now, where did he pass?"

Xi bie thought about it, if she told them she hadn't seen anyone they might go to the right way and catch the man, and they might not even believe her so it was good to just give them a wrong direction but what if the person they are after is an evil person. She shook her head of the thought and just followed her instincts.

   " Over there" she said pointing to the wrong direction.

They didn't even bother thanking her as they ran off.

  " Fools" Xi bie sneered as she ran towards the direction the man they were after went.

A man sat in a secluded corner groaning an cursing out in pain.

It was almost full moon and the orb must be delivered safely to the hands of his master else if the orb gets to the wrong hand, then the entire universe will be doomed.

He sat and prayed earnestly for help. Seems like the gods heard his plea as he heard a light footstep from afar.

He was naturally born a fighter, so he could recognise the footstep of danger as well as good intentions.

He was still pondering when he heard a woman's voice.

    " Where is he? Hope they didn't kill him?"

Xi bie said looking around.

  " Miss!  miss!" The man shouted as he struggled in pain, holding tightly the orb case in his hands.

Xi bie heard the voice and startled for a while.

The voice sound so familiar.

Before she could reply, she saw the man trying to stand up and she quickly ran over to help him.

The direction of the light flashed on the man's face and Xi bie's body stiffened.

    " Brother yen?"

What the hell is brother yen doing in Z city.

     " Brother yen! Brother yen!" Xi bie called out hurriedly.

Yen gu was shocked that a woman from Z city can recognise him.

     How come?

  " Brother yen it's me, Xi tan" Xi bie said almost at the verge of tears.

Yen gu looked shock" Xi tan? How come? Xi tan is a guy".

" No brother yen it is just a disguise so other disciples wouldn't see me as a weakling" Xi bie said as she felt warm liquid in her hands.

   BLOOD!

" Oh my God brother yen you are bleeding, quick let's go to the hospital" Xi bie said trying to lift him up.

   " No no they are searching everywhere for me just take me to a safe place please".

Just as Xi bie was about to speak, something glowed from the bag Yen gu was holding.

Yen gu smiled bitterly, it's happening already. The night of the full moon. It orb power needs to be released.

Xi bie curiously opened the box and before Yen gu could stop her, she already had the orb in her hand.

The moon light shone on the orb and Xi bie screamed loudly. She felt a huge connection to the object in her hands, she felt like she in hell, external darkness trying to strive to light, her body was on fire, an extraordinary aura emitted around her, she felt her body was been restructured.

The process went for about thirty minutes before it stopped.

         " No!" Yen gu screamed

The full moon for the orb power comes every ten years and now the next power is till in the next decade. Hence the orb must be kept in good hands by then

     But why Xi tan?

The orb had the power to reject, but why didn't it reject Xi tan. Could it be the orb personally choose him.

Yen gu was not use to this change of gender so he still acknowledge Xi bie as a he.

Xi bie fell down with a loud thud and Yen gu quickly returned the orb back to its case before passing out. Xi bie thought of help and no one came to her mind at the moment. She took her phone and just dialed the first number she saw.

     " Help me, save me" that was what she said before she fainted.
