*Elaine's POV*

I was walking along the shore with the twins heading towards their brother's house, I think I don't really remember what they said

"Elaine!" Yelled Jake I jumped and stumbled a bit almost falling before Jax caught me and said "Woah Babycakes, careful"

"sorry" I mumbled

"it's fine but we're here," said Jake and Jax around the same time: they glared at each other again.

"But before we go inside one of our friends are here and, well he's a pain in the ass," said Jake, as we started walking in I thought oh no please don't be Ryder, please don't be Ryder I thought over and over again until we got to the door of a rather big expensive loft apartment, I slowed down in my tracks before Jax was holding open the back door smiling.

I walked inside and it smelled like eggs and bacon, they must be making breakfast I thought still looking around before a voice I've never heard before said: "who the hell is she, what have I told you, boys, about--"

Jake cut him off and said "she's a new friend, Elaine, meet our older brother Denton, Denton meet Elaine" "h-h-hi" I hate that I stutter when I'm nervous I thought, but I can't help it.

"well nice to meet you Tinker Bell" I blushed for the millionth time today at the other nickname I got awarded today. I smiled and said "It's a nice home you have here" "Thanks, It's not a lot but it's home," said Denton, then I heard the voice that brought the zoo to my stomach "guys you should come see what Zeus is doing," he even had a laugh behind the happy tone, I smiled and blushed then looked at my feet, then I remembered I'm only in my bathing suit, I heard footsteps and I quickly warped the long beach towel around my body. "Kakogo cherta ona zdes' delayet," said Ryder I'm not sure what he said but I knew it wasn't English and I knew he was mad. I backed away and Jake got in front of me and said "why does it matter to you, it's not your house" "well it's not yours either" replied Ryder

"enough already," said Denton loudly I jumped and grabbed on to Jake's arm "she's a guest here you will treat her with respect whether you want to or not, understand Mr. Anderson" continued Denton in a softer tone

"fine, doesn't mean I have to her," said Ryder still clearly angry, "well you could at least calm down you're scaring the poor girl and what's the big deal with her being here except your controlling attitude, Khuy golovu," said Jax pointing to me and Jake then I realized I was still clinging on to his arm as my life depended on it because it felt like it did. "and we want to be her friend so you're going to have to learn to at least tolerate her a bit," said Jake.

I let go of his arm feeling like I wanted to cry but I finally spoke up and said, tripping over my words "y-you d-don't have to be m-my friends, I-I can just g-go, I don't w-want to c-cause any t-trouble"

"No Tinker Bell you're fine and you seem pretty cool, you should come around more often," said Denton smiling

"Thanks, I'll try," I said quietly looking at my feet

"Look up and smile," said Jax loudly chuckling I looked up and saw his smile and smiled myself partly because he told me and partly because his smile is contagious, he seems nice I thought.

"Aw she's cute when she smiles," said all three siblings at the same time, I giggled then shivered a bit when the air vent above me turned on and cursed myself for running in the water. I rubbed my hands over my arms then Jax said "you cold babycakes" "a-a little" I replied I wasn't nervous, just cold. I get cold very easily it could be sixty to seventy degrees out and I could still be cold. Denton left the room and came back with a red sweatshirt that has a hood. It looks comfortable I thought as he handed it to me, and said: "put it on it should warm you up."

"Thanks but you didn't have to do that like I said I don't want to be any trouble," I said taking the hoodie trying not to be rude

"No, it's no trouble plus it's not mine, it's a friend's," said Denton ruffling my hair smiling, I was truly spacing out and didn't hear what he said but I was freezing so I put the hoodie on. It really helped warm me up and it smelled good, it smelled manly but also kind of like the woods, and it's not too strong at all.

I was happy, genuinely happy, I usually only felt that was with Adeline or Violet, but the Cooper siblings were so fun, and bold, and brave, and nice, I wish I was more like them I thought "hey Elaine, does your family know your here" asked Denton

"Oh my God, oh my God! my family is gonna murder me, what time is it, why didn't I think about telling anyone. Dang it, I'm gonna die" I freaked, I totally forgot about telling anyone I was going somewhere, what if they think I got eaten by a shark or got kidnaped

"It's five o'clock," said Jax smiling

"OH MY GOD, I'M DEAD" I exclaimed, I left at about eleven Am "I need to go, thanks for having me Ummm... If I get murdered spread my ashes at the beach" the boys laughed as I continued running out of the door, and ran into the second brick wall this month, I expected to fall flat on my butt so I squeezed my eyes shut ready for the pain but instead of the shooting pain I expected two arms wrapped around me and said "do you insist on making my life harder than it already is" I quickly opened my eyes and noticed it was the same brick wall as last time: Ryder Anderson. Yep, He's gonna kill me.
