4.2: Morgue

The chief officer Mr. Strong came to the morgue in person. He is old, quiet healthy yet week and a very angry man well known to the whole Titto police department for his mood swing and case solving capability. There are rumors of his young age about breaking his coligues head with his black stick; some say it was his senior! Behind his back officers call him the pressure cooker but in front they fear him like an activated bomb. He already ordered the whole team to investigate it thoroughly. Looking at Simon he says to Dan- " I dont want any negligence again". Dan nods fast and Simon remains quite.

After the Chief in charge had left, Simon felt the actual temperature of the room. It was very cold- almost 2 to 4 degree centigrade. He shivered like a winter tree that gets covered by a pile of snow which falls trembling by a simple wind. He felt very uncomfortable from the vaguely chemical smell made up of strong cleansers, preservative chemicals. He remembered his college lab time when they disected formaldehyde sunk frogs covering and squinking their nose, eyes and mouth. He felt like a sick patient admitted in hospital for ages.

An old man with grey hair enters the room. He deiscribes him as the extarnal examination expert and greets Simon. The man then checks the serial tag and notes down a few details. After that, he removes the white cloth that covered the whole body like a robot- pre programmed specifically for the job.  This revealed the face which made him like the kid getting surprised by a sudden birthday celebration- at list his expression said that. His jaw dropped a bit lower and mouth opened. A bit more seconds and you could see his saliva dripping too- but he was not that dumb.

The expert guy could not show this astonishment to Simon and to hide it he says- "See this white powder on her face- its plaster of paris my boy". "So what should I do knowing this?"-Simon replies in disappointment. He explains it can not be put on an alive person easily. It gets hot on skin while drying. Simon nods- he only wanted the killer to write his name on the body so that he could present him in front of Mr. Strong!

The expert moves the cloth a bit more farther to her belly area revealing scratches, marks, bites, blood clots and the whole breast part. Simon felt the discomfort of watching a naked figure with an old man and leaves the area by saying- " Excuse me.. I've some work left.. you do continue".
