Chapter Sixteen

Get dressed? I rolled my eyes at her choice of words. She knew that wasn't possible and that was why we were going shopping. I shoved my cutlery into the slice of cake maybe a little too hard and a loud sound echoed. The sound of the fork hit the ceramic.

"Tch!" I frowned and controlled my hands. I had every intention of enjoying my meal.

I ate slowly making sure to savor the meal just because she said thirty minutes didn't mean I had to do as she said. I took a sip out of the glass I had refilled at least three times. I ate the last piece of cake before gulping the entire contents of the glass.

I cleared the plates and made my way to the—my—bedroom. I was having a hard time getting comfortable. I got dressed in my clothes from last night except for the jacket, I didn't like the idea but it was all I had and I wasn't about to ask Callidora if she had something I could fit in.

I checked myself in the huge mirror that was the door to my wardrobe. I haven't opened it yet, I would do that after shopping. It just felt right that way. I knew it would be as huge as everything else in the room.

I took one last look at my plain features, my brown hair was tied in a ponytail, my short lashes were looking back at me atop my sad-looking eyes which shared the same color as my hair. I smiled briefly before turning my back and walking out of the room.

I found Calli seated on one of the couches, she turned her head to look at me as I walked in and she frowned. I raised my left eyebrow, waiting for her to say something about my outfit. She didn't.

"Are you ready?" She asked and stood.

I simply nodded and remained where I was waiting for her to lead the way which she did, we were out the door in seconds.

Going back the way we came was a lot like yesterday. She clapped and the light came on, the awkward part was the elevator ride. It was thirty seconds of hell.

We arrived at the lobby and headed for the front door, for some reason I noticed it wasn't the receptionist who had protested when we stepped in.

"This is it," a voice said interrupting my thoughts. It was a chauffeur and he held the door to the "it" open.

The "it" the chauffeur was referring to was a brand new limousine. Well, I don't know if it was brand new but it sure looked like that to me. "Holy cow!" I said on reflex immediately expecting to hear language but nothing came.

"This is uncalled for and obviously too much. Are you sure this was what Berg assigned? I asked for a ride, not some chariot."

"I think it is alright," I suddenly chipped in. Of course, it was alright, I have never been in a limousine before I wasn't about to lose my chance.

"You think it is alright?" She asked, disbelief written all over her face and voice.

"Aha," I shrugged. "People go around in limos."

"Is that so?" She asked again and approached the open door. "Well then get in." She yelled when I took too long to move.

I stepped in quickly not wanting to wake up before I got a chance to sit in the limo just in case this was a dream. The chauffeur closed the door as I got in and got behind the wheel. Without a single word as to where we were going the chauffeur started the car.

My first thought when I was comfortable enough was Mia would kill to be in this car. I instinctively thought to text her and that was when I realized I wasn't with my phone. That was very odd, it was usually the first thing I would reach out to every time I woke either to put off my alarm or simply because it was my phone. I was becoming less and less attached to it.

I made a mental note to text Mia when I get back and hopefully there would be one from my parents waiting for me. I sat back and tried to enjoy the ride, it was a freaking limo just cause Miss Vampire was right next to me didn't mean the ride would be bad.

The journey was quick and in a few minutes, we were at a boutique. "Pick whatever you want," were her only words to me as we stepped through the doors. I didn't contemplate, I did exactly that.

By the time we were done, I had about thirty bags filled with clothes, underwear and shoes. I felt sorry for the chauffeur as he made various trips to the car while Calli paid for the items. I had expected to hear her complain when I was done picking what u wanted but she didn't so much as raise an eyebrow but asked if that was all I wanted.

The worst part wasn't the drive back but having to take all that amount of bags into our supposed hideout. The chauffeur stuffed the elevator with all the bags and Callidora said he could go. I didn't know what her big plan was until we got out of the elevator and I had to haul all the bags to my room all by myself.

It took eleven trips, some I could take four at a time while the rest had to be two at a time. By the time I was done I wanted a drink, some food, and a nap but  I wanted to put the items in their respective places first so I got to work. I was finally going to see the inside of the huge wardrobe that took up a lot of space in my room. I was a little excited, not just about the wardrobe but the shopping too. It really was relaxing.
