Wang Hai is the eighth son out of all the 21 princes of the late Emperor Wang Long (Courtesy Name: Wang Jing Yan), as well as the Crown Prince. He have now become the Emperor of the Yun Kingdom after the passing of his father.

The character "Meng" means first month of the seasons or eldest of all brothers, "Kai" means Victory while "Chen" means morning/dawn.
Meng Yue is (ironically) the third son and the youngest of the Meng family who are a family of generals and scholars. His father is serving in the court as the Minister of Defense, the General/Jiangjun of the Yun Army. His older brother, (first son) Meng Hao (Courtesy Name: Meng Yun Jiang) is a vassal of the Qiling continent. His second brother pass away in a war during the Emperor Wang Jing Yan reign against the Kingdom of Lei.
Now Lei Kingdom is in a better diplomatic relationship with the Yun Kingdom.
A rather soft spoken person unlike his father. Meng Yue is skilled in playing the Erhu, Guqin, and the flute.
Wang Zhen
Character: 王珍
The character "Wang" means King while "Zhen" means treasure.

Wang Zhen is the third and oldest prince due to the first two princes dying during their childhood due to a disease outbreak.
Even though he was the oldest and his mother had a high ranking in the harem, he was not chosen to be the Crown Prince for he had declined the verdict, suggesting that Wang Hai was more suitable for the throne.
With his mother's obsession of power, Wang Hai's mother almost died from an attempted assassination. When found out, the late Emperor subjected her to the Cold Palace for eternity.
Imperial Consort Xing then hanged herself when both her husband and son refuse to see her.
Now Wang Zhen is a trusted advisor to Wang Hai. He's also a very skilled medic.

Wang Jin is the 13th Prince and he and his mother are the snake and fox of the harem.
With the passing of Wang Zhen's mother, Wei is considered the highest ranking within the harem and takes absolute pride in it.
She would often belittle Wang Zhen and Wang Yao for having shameful mothers. Wang Jin is also obsessed for the power of the throne that he literally destroyed his chambers after finding out that Wang Hai was the chosen Crown Prince.
Wang Yao
Character: 王幺
The character for "Wang" means King while "Yao" means the youngest.

The character for "Si" means thinking, ponder while "Fei" means luxurious.

Wang Yao is the 17th Prince of the Yun Kingdom and is considered the youngest as the 18th till the 21st princes were all killed or assassinated in their youth while fighting for the power of the throne or have fallen into the traps of others.
Though he is a prince but due to the large difference in the gap for those in line of the throne inheritance, he is often looked down upon. To add more salt to the wound, his mother is a Noble Concubine, an average ranking in the harem, making him the illegitimate child of the late Emperor.
But since he is favoured by the Empress Dowager and the current Emperor, he have some backing power.
Unlike the last few princes, he has no interest in the throne, he rather be a carefree youth and enjoy his life.

"Lei" means thunder.
Hao Tian
Character: 昊天
"Hao Tian" means clear sky.

Hao Tian is the Crown Prince of the Lei Kingdom who is well known for its great power in military and technology.
Childhood friends with Wang Hai, Wang Zhen and Wang Yao.
He have heard of Meng Yue but have yet to see the mysterious Prince Consort of Yun Kingdom.

Meaning river.
A kingdom that is known for its strategic trading port and flourishing economy as well as networking.
Yao Jiang
Character: 瑶江
"Yao" means jade while "Jiang" means river.

"Xuan" means jade while "Mo" means to sharpen.

Yao Jiang is the 5th Prince of the He Kingdom and is childhood friends with Wang Hai, Wang Zhen and Wang Yao.
He have yet to see the Prince Consort of Yun
Yang Kingdom

Meaning Sun.
A rather obnoxious country that have bad blood with the Yun Kingdom on the fact that they have failed to take over the Yun Kingdom.
Bei Fang Liao Ran
Character: 蓓芳了苒
"Bei" means flower bud, "Fang" means fragrant, "Liao" means clear sighted and "Ran" means luxuriant growth or the passing of time.

"Li" means rule and "Zhao" means to shine.

The Emperor Of Yang and is rather heartless man who by all means, have no mercy, even to women.
Bei Fang Xiao Chun

"Xiao" means small while "Chun" means autumn.
