Yes or No

Grand left Dana and Bobby to talk about their own things, but mostly because he doesn't want to lose his temper again in front of Dana and his friend. It seems like his temper when it comes to Dana was a being out of hand.

But he still can't believe that Dana didn't tell her that she is Arbiter. He took the stairs to go down a floor from Bobby's office. He shook his head to chase away a certain memory of a girl promising him that what she is saying is the truth.

He met some guys taking a smoke break when he reached the floor below. He asked for some cigarettes from one of the men. It's been years since he touched tobacco but right now he feels like he really needs a puff.

Dana is different from the girl in his past. Heck, she's different, period. He should stop being a neurotic bastard overthinking everything. Things in the past should stay in the past.

Grand sighs as he drags the cigarettes away from his lips. He laughs at a joke he didn't catch from one of the men in the group. He grins like an idiot with them since everyone is acting like one. He's good at pretending to be in the moment even when his thoughts are running wild inside his head. The only time his brain could focus on one thing is when he is in front of his computer cracking codes.

He checked his watch, flicking the cigarette butt on the ground and stepping on it. The talk between Bobby and Dana should be done by now, he takes out his phone from his pocket and sends a message to someone.

It looks like the men are done with their smoke break too, so he thanked them and excused himself. He slowly walked up the stairs back to Bobby's office thinking if he should ask Dana for an explanation of why she didn't tell him about being the artist Arbiter.

He exhales deeply before pushing the glass door of Bobby's office. The two of them huddle over some bunch of photos, deep in discussion over some designs. He cleared his throat to get their attention.

Bobby and Dana turned around his direction in a synchronized manner, both are surprised that he's back.

"That was a long bathroom break." Bobby grinned, stretching his legs under the table and extending his long arms over his head.

"Are we going now?" Dana asked, looking at him.

"You two going somewhere? Let me buy you guys lunch." he offered.

"No, thanks. We already have a reservation, and it's a date." Grand smirking, playfully holding Bobby's neck in his arm in a locked position. "Three is a crowd, have you heard of it?" he said on his face.

Bobby pushed his face laughing, "Asshole."

Dana watches with a small smile on her lips as the two men play like kids in front of her.

Bobby walked them out to the parking lot. They all said their goodbyes in front of Grand's car.

"It's been a while since you took out that car," he said, eyeing the Bugatti Chiron.

Grand just grunted a reply and opened the passenger door to let Dana in.

Dana waves to Bobby as she gets in the car. She watches the two make a complicated hand gesture that ends up slapping each other's back while she puts her seatbelt.

When Grand enters the driver seat, Dana asks him where they will go, which he just answered with a smile.

She waved goodbye again to Bobby who was watching them until Grand's car got out of the parking lot.

Grand drove for about thirty minutes until he took a right turn to enter a gated private community on a hillside. She glanced at him, with curiosity but he kept mum on their destination even when she continued asking him.

Another half an hour passed when the car entered a courtyard and finally stopped in front of a traditional Chinese house overlooking the city.

"We're here," he announced. Dana's eyes feasted on the building structure in front of her.

Grand watches her in amusement, takes off his seat belt, and leans over to her side to remove her seat belt. "Let's step out of the car and you can enjoy the place to your heart's content.

"Muffins, let me open the door for you," he said getting out of the driver seat.

Dana smiles and watches Grand dashes in front of his car to get to the passenger seat to open the door for her. A warm feeling encloses Dana's heart but she puts a stop to it. She inhales and exhales, then readies her smile for Grand when he opens the passenger door.

"Thank you," she murmurs when she gets out of the car, trying to smoothen her top.

The ground is covered with small pebbles and she almost tips over. Good thing Grand catches her right on time.

"Careful."

Dana's breath was caught on her throat when Grand grabs her waist and pulls her closer to his body. She quickly straightened her back and put a gap between them. She doesn't want him to know the drumming of her traitor heart.

Grand holds her elbow firmly as he watches her take tentative steps on the pebble ground.

"I could carry you princess style if you want." He said teasing.

"I got it," she said refusing politely, at the same time a voice inside her head screams, - please do so.

Dana grins as she gets her balance to walk on the uneven pathway.

An old man welcomed them when they entered one of the side archways of the courtyard.

"Good afternoon, welcome." he bowed as he greeted them.

Grand nodded his head and the man answered, "Yes."

He led them to one of the private rooms with a stunning view of a zen garden. A table covered with food was already waiting for them. A young girl, standing in the corner gave a polite bow, ready to serve them when Grand pulled the chair for her.

The girl handed them a warm towel and poured them some tea. She stepped back waiting for order when Grand spoke. "You can leave us. We'll call when we need something."

She smiled, bowed, and quietly let herself out of the room.

"Let's eat," Grand said, picking up her chopsticks and handing it to her. "Hope you like the food." he smiled handsomely.

Dana surveyed the variety of Chinese food in front of her and smiled in glee.

"They all look delicious!" She exclaimed.

Grand picks up his own chopsticks and watches Dana eat happily. It warms his heart to watch her eat, and it never fails to amuse him how food could make Dana's mood change right away.
