Marriage Talk

She is fidgeting on the sofa trying to focus on Ellise who is pacing back and forth in front of her. They are currently in Ellise's bedroom. She was called over as soon as she arrived home from their Christmas holiday. She's enduring all the rants she is throwing at her because of the photo she posted on her Weibo account.

In all honesty, she knows this is going to happen, but back then she thought it's a good idea to irritate her, now she's regretting that impulsiveness. She can't deal with her nagging.

She's trying to remember in her head all her schedules while nodding and pretending to listen to Ellise.

She still has to study for her Mandarin class, for she will have a big exam at the end of the week. She also has to see Bobby later after dinner to meet the person who will teach her how to drive.

She finally decided to learn how to drive so she doesn't have to rely on Ting's or Madame Bae's driver to chauffeur her around. She wants the independent to go wherever she wants without being reported. Because she knew for a fact that her drivers would report to Madame Bae or her aunt Joy, through Nancy.

Speaking of Nancy, she still has to talk to her about her bank accounts. She was thinking of opening an account here in China and in another country and she needed help with the documents for the money transfer since she is going to move a huge amount of money. She has no idea about taxes and laws.

"Why with all the photos I have in your phone you have to draw that one?" she said still ranting over the photo that went viral.

"I'm sorry." she murmurs another insincere apology to her.

Dana scowled inwardly, it's not like she expected her drawing to gather that much attention to the point of going viral. She honestly thought that the ones who will take notice of the picture were just Ellise's team members. She never thought how big was the fan base of the CTF circle, nor how Ellise is such a big name in the said circle.

Her Weibo account got a lot of new followers because of Ellise photo. Her previous sketches of Grand and his team that she did a long time ago were given a lot of attention too.

She sighed and told Ellise, "Can you just let it go? I mean, all the reactions about your picture were generally good anyway."

Ellise gave her a stare down and said, "Okay then, I will let it go. In exchange, tell me the reason why you had cried on Christmas day?"

An awkward silence floats on the air.

"Hmm, do you think I should take down that photo of yours?" she asked her, feigning innocence, trying to get away from the question while cursing in her mind whoever blabbermouth told Ellise about her crying episodes over the holiday.

Ellise smirked at Dana, "You should consider forgetting Wang Wei."

Dana stared at Ellise lifting her left eyebrow in inquiry. But Ellise kept mum on why she should forget about Grand.

"You should buy it." someone said next to his ears.

He was startled when he heard Seven's voice next to him, also bending over the diamond bracelet he's examining. He has seen the bracelet on the store window every time he passed by on his way to the office and decided to have a look today, he never expected to see Seven at the store and caught him checking the said piece of jewelry.

"The diamonds are exquisite on that one. You have a good eye, any girl would be delighted to receive such a gift," he said solemnly.

He would have laughed at his expression if he wasn't pissed first on how he suddenly appeared while he is contemplating if he would buy the jewelry for Dana. He wants her to use it instead of Bobby's gift for her on her eighteenth birthday.

He hasn't seen Dana using the necklace he bought for her, but he saw her wearing the bracelet Bobby gave her multiple times.

"Do you think she will like it?" he asked the annoying Seven.

"I don't know who she is, but she would absolutely adore that thousand diamond dollars bracelet."

He signaled to the store attendant that was patiently waiting that he would get the bracelet.

"Can I have it specially wrapped?" he inquired.

"Yes sir." was the prompt replied

"Nana, I don't want to go," he complained to his grandmother about her mother forcing him to invite Li Na for dinner. And since he's not doing it, his mother took the liberty to book a restaurant and send an invitation to Li Na's family. Hence, he was cornered without a choice.

Well, he has a choice but it would result in a bloodbath between him and his father. He doesn't need that complication right now, that's the reason why he's using his grandmother as a bridge to escape. He's taking advantage of the fact that he is her favorite grandson.

"The invitation was already sent. Just go for now. I'll take care of it after." his grandmother promised.

He took a deep breath of relief but continued to sulk.

He opened his phone to check Dana's Moments and saw that there were no pictures or any updates, while Bobby posted some posters of events his friends are promoting.

He is thinking over if he should call Dana or visit her home. When her mother unceremoniously entered her grandmother's living room and announced that he should leave early to avoid traffic and handed him a bouquet of flowers that is Li Na's favorite.

He laughed at how ridiculous the situation is, but seeing his mother's glaring expression, he grabbed the flowers and said his goodbye to the two women, then stood up to be on his way to meet Li Na - the girl his father wants him to marry to solidify his business empires.
