We turned to the direction of the sound, ready to attack with the objects in our hands. We stared for a while waiting for something to attack, then out of nowhere, an object jumped right above Elizabeth, but she managed to dodge and strike it. It was only when it stopped moving that I realized what it was. It was the girl from before. When I made this revelation, everyone moved to attack her at the exact same time.
I jumped right in the lane of fire, forcing both sides to drop all hostility and question my sanity. I told them that the girl had saved my life, and lied saying that she was being held captive with me. She, supposedly, helped me cut the ropes, but they went separate ways after they got out. Keith questioned her and asked if what I said was true, but I told them that she didn't speak the language.
Arthur walked up to her, sniffed her, and walked away unbothered to signal that she wasn't dangerous at all. I then looked to the others to get their approval, and Elizabeth just put her sword away and went to her tent without saying anything. Keith walked up to her and welcomed her before following Elizabeth, while Joan and Nara put their "weapons" away and George gave her the acceptance nod.
Joan and I switched tents that night, so that I wouldn't have to sleep with Elizabeth, and Kevin wasn't very pleased with our argument. He condemned Elizabeth's violent tactics, and scolded me for accepting it over a peaceful talk. He also agreed that I should have a say, but Elizabeth was just worried about me. After he was done, I asked him if he knew the girl, but he didn't, and neither did Arthur.
Though, they did think that she was loyal to me, since she only attacked Elizabeth. He thought she attacked her because she most likely saw Elizabeth and I fighting in the first place. He also added that the ability to shape shift is uncertain and often hard to control, suggesting that the girl was older than she looked. The sun began to rise as he told me of magical beasts that used to roam the world during the "Great Purge," but I didn't clearly hear him.
We arrived at the palace by noon and Elizabeth gave everyone orders upon arrival. George and Keith went to address the court in her place, while Joan and Nara were told to go to the town fitter for uniforms. I went to go to my room, but she told me to go with her.
In her room, she asked her lady-in-waiting to get her old uniform. When I questioned her, she said that I had to be dressed appropriately if I want to fight alongside her.
