Seventy Six

I thought of killing her and ending the possibility of her killing anyone else, but I also thought of how that would change me.

I took too long thinking, and she threw me off of her and retrieved her sword. She raised it towards me, and I told her that I would not kill her nor would I hurt her. She didn't care. I tried to remind her about all the time we had spent together, but she didn't want to hear it.

She fought valiantly, while I was slowly running out of energy to go on. After a little while, she managed to knock my sword out of my hand. I laid down there waiting for her to stab me, but out of nowhere, she threw her own sword down and challenged me to hand-to-hand combat, but my acceptance wasn't a choice. It was more like, "either you fight or I kill Arthur." She knocked me over shortly after the combat had begun and held my throat in her hands.

She held me down with one hand, as the other reached to retrieve a vial of yellow powder. She asked me what I wanted her to tell my friends and family as she killed them and I looked her in the eyes and told her, "Don't worry about it, I'll tell them myself." Arthur then ran up to her and stabbed her with one of her arrows, before she violently kicked him away. She pulled out another dagger and stabbed me in the shoulder before she passed out.

I went over to check on Arthur and he had broken his leg when Nara kicked him. I offered to heal his leg, but he told me that the boat was sinking. I didn't mind, but I then realized that if Zephyr knew I was alive, then he was most likely on the battlefield as Paul's secret weapon. Elizabeth was in danger! Arthur told me to leave him behind, but I picked him up and ran off the side of the boat in defiance.

As I jumped, I said an incantation as I did and we landed on the next boat, but Elizabeth was still three ships away. I ran through the boat and jumped off the next edge, just barely missing canon balls. As I was running on the second boat, Arthur spotted Zephyr and he was directly in front of Elizabeth's ship. I ran as fast as I could and made it to Elizabeth with enough time to tell her about Zephyr. She unwilling planned to surrender, but Zephyr was already casting a spell to destroy the ship.

I suddenly got the idea to redirect the blast towards another source and save them. Me. Elizabeth and Arthur were both against it, but I went along with my plan anyway. I climbed to the top of the ship and watched the spell fly above the water. I heard Elizabeth yelling to me as I began to redirect the spell.

I remember hearing a small voice and turning around to see a fog shaped like a small woman before taking the blast head on and flying into the water.
