Seventy Nine

I was filled with relief and excitement when I saw him and couldn't help running into his arms. He held onto me tightly as well and after our elongated embrace, he asked how I got there. I told him what had happened after he jumped off the ship after George, and as I talked about George, I suddenly remembered his injury and frantically asked him where he was. Nathaniel assured me that he was alright, and turned to meet the sailors. After he met with all of them, he saw the wolf, and hugged her.

Everyone (including myself) was confused. Most people don't just hug giant wolves, but Nathaniel does, if they save his life that is. Apparently, she had helped Nathaniel get George to safety and away from the battlefield. I asked him how he was so calm around a giant wolf, and he quietly brought up how I almost set him on fire. It was one time! One time!

Anyways, he led us to the more discreet camp he had set up and that's where he had taken out the arrow and cleaned George's wound as best as he could. I ran over to him, and healed him before he got any worse. He then opened his eyes and held me tight before I told him that he needed to rest and put him to bed. I then took off my jacket and told the wolf to turn back to her human form, since she's so small, my jacket covered her up well.

As we were sitting by the fire, the sailors looked to Nathaniel and I and asked us what we were to do. Nathaniel looked at me, and I told them that we weren't going to let Paul win.

I gave them the option to go back home, but they all stayed. They wanted to stay and help me save everyone. I felt so grateful to have such kind, selfless souls around me, but that wasn't enough. We needed a plan.
