As soon as I heard the door to the driver's seat open, a gush of wind hit my body sending shivers down my spine but I didn't dare to turn my head towards it.
I was drenched in sweat and soaked with fear and anxiety at the thought of what might be waiting for me right now just centimeters away within reach.
What came shooting straight on to my brain was that hideous smirk and that pair of grey freakishly intimidating eyes which got me thinking that right now I'm gonna die a horrible death.
Shoot I didn't even get to do anything fun like clubbing during my whole life as I turned 18 recently and not to mention I didn't get any freaking chance to slap my ex in the face, ugh dammit.
I laid curled up on the seat lacing my fingers around my eyes and hyperventilating like a chicken who just ran a marathon, waiting for my monstrous rival when I heard someone whisper something inaudible as I couldn't even make up the words since the only audible sound I heard was my own heart rate.
I dared to peek my eye and see what it was and oh well I wished I shouldn't have done but at the same time damn the view.
I saw a glamorous handsome man with dark grey eyes and pale white milky skin with full plump luscious pink lips wearing a slight smirk looking down at me from the other side of the seat and as I tried to approach him from the curled position I was in, his face started to change and now blood was running down the side of his forehead.
I screamed in terror and that's when I woke up with sweat beads escaping my forehead and with a slightly a teeny tiny bit of a fuming mother from outside the car window.
"Hey! What are you doing here all curled up on the seat?! How many times did I call you now already? Didn't you hear me ? And what's with this sleep? Didn't you sleep last night? What were you doing?" she bombarded with tons of questions.
"So her calling explains those tiny whispers I heard in my sleep"
"Oh well what can I do....typical mother's"
I thought to myself whereas my mom was fuming with anger and I was just staring at her, a gist of relief flowing through my veins as scenes of the nightmare I just had came flowing into me.
Woah what a nightmare and a hot one at that, jeez I have to stop watching rom-coms my head is messed up!!!!
"Ari stop day dreaming and get out and help me up with your luggage child" mom screeched from the window.
Okay mommmm I'm up I'm up!!!
I took my suitcase and mom picked up the other "necessary stuff" which she says will be needed later on and by necessary stuff she meant a smol growing cactus and a baseball bat which I don't get on how necessarily needy it can be.
We carried the stuff near the rusting gate and set them down and mom tried on the 1000yrs old looking lock which didn't even budge a millimetre.
"Shit what's up with this lock now"
"Mom gimme the key let's see if I could just..."
*crack* *crack* *crrrraaaacc--*
It still wouldn't budge so I had an idea and clipped out a clip in my hair and started my work...after a few seconds I was able to crack open the lock and get in to the garden leading to the house.
The garden was half way within to grow up to be a forest of it's own as the shrubs, trees, weeds and grasses have grown to a length of two ft.
I wondered how long the previous owner stayed here as it can't be just yesterday he or she moved out because the garden itself was a living disaster as flesh of rotting fruits and wild flowers can be spotted almost everywhere along with some pieces of broken glass scattered anonymously around.
We finally arrived at the doorstep and oh well the silly me tried on the fragile doorbell as if just now someone will come and open up the door.
"Seriously?! Ari! You do know that this is your house now right and umm who could or might be running behind that door to greet you now".
"Sorry mom"
It has always been my manners as I always tend to apologise or excuse when I hit with something although it isn't ap person and let alone knocking on a door as I'm used to it like that.
Mom tried on the lock and well it turned up pretty smoothly unlike those rusty gates yuck.
Once we opened the door we were greeted with a musky, dusty smell of cobwebs and gave it's mushy usual scent of houses which haven't been opened up for ages.
There was a bit of furniture, a coffee table, a dusty sofa, dusty curtains, and so on.
I found something shimmering on the floor in this pitch darkness and bend down to see what it was.
pTurns out it was just a scratch on the floorboard resulted from something or someone forcibly moved some object outta it's place or more like someone left the house in a hurry, dragging away something that it scratched the floor so bad.
I wonder what the hurry was.
Ouch! Someone just hit the back of head--- oh it's mom hi mom! And there she goes again---
"Where the hell are you going about in circles on the same spot and what are you daydreaming about so much?!"
"Noooo mom I was just observing the house to know a little more about it"
She glared a little and gave a sigh
" I know it's hard on you sweety but you have to move on and live your own life, make friends and who knows get a boyfriend and crush your ex without getting stranded together in one house with me and get old"
"Oh c'mon mom I'm fine and you're not ever gonna get old so what if you get old....I'm still gonna love you"
"Ok enough chit chat let's get going now you still have to attend college remember and your classes are gonna start after a few mins"
"Thank god it's a minimum ten minute drive or else you'll be late now chop chop out"
We locked the house and headed out closing the half-broken gate and got on the car.
My mom started the car and was halfway down the pathway downhill that house when I caught a glimpse of some silver haired boy around a corner of that house I'm gonna move into, but with his back facing me, therefore I couldn't catch a glimpse of his face as it was slightly dark around the corner.
"Mom does the landlord have a son?"
"Umm no sweety he's single and hasn't had a son" "Why do you ask?"
"Arrr no never mind just wondering..." well the curious me never planned to scratch that thought and move on but eventually dozed it off.
We arrived at Barksville College and saw the swarming students running past the car to get in before the gates get closed as it's past opening time.
I kissed my mom goodbye and ran to the gates too when I spotted a slightly familiar face which I hope wouldn't be able to see or rather hoped to not see.
Thought he'd not recognize me but speak of the devil there he comes towards my direction with a stupid smug look on his face.
With all this drama going on with my ex, I felt a hand slip around my waist pulling me towards whoever had that stinky hand on me.
Ready to charge at the intruder I snapped my head back to see who it was but oh what a view it was.
It was .....
