Chapter Twenty-Seven: Past: Past Teachings

I had woken up earlier than usual, dreams of Justin and I had returned. Bad ones had seemed to constantly overlap the good. So I tossed and turned, till the sun started to give a glimpse of itself. A new day but still the weight on my shoulders was sinking me deeper and deeper into my past.

Unico Thora.

I couldn't seem to understand why my mom had given me such a rare name but I knew it was influenced by my godparents. My mom and dad weren't rich but when they got some sort of power it was enough to help them get some sort of control. Finally, it seemed like their life was going in the right direction after years of suffering.

They got to a point where they worked for ministers and were given a vacation at a private home, shareholders. They welcomed my mom and dad with such wide-open arms that as time went on, they became as close as family. They became my parent's backbone. My parent's shadow.

While pregnant with me, my mom and dad had traveled all the way to the same location but joined with more people. Mom used to say that, 'we met the rest of the family, the rest of the ties, that we would forever be intertwined." Her voice sounding like a lullaby.

The day I was born, I was early, I was due almost a month later but what made matters worrying was that I was eight hours away from the hospital. So those very people, cut my mother open, and low and behold I was born. Though the blood loss was too much, they were able to organize a blood transfusion. They were also able to stitch my mother up easily as though professionals but then again they were.

My mother and father had decided that they would be part of my naming process and they would be given the title of my godparents. So if anything happened to me, my life would shift into their hands. If only they had realized earlier that my life was already in their hands the moment they met them.

"How long will you be inside?" the timer asked, his brown eyes bored but his headphones blasting with metal.

"Thirty minutes to probably an hour," I responded, he typed a couple of things onto the system then gave me a check out card.

"Once done, insert the card into the machine on the left side of your both. It will click in and out the card. Ensure to bring back that card to me for exchange of your Identification card. Understand?" he asked

"I do."

"Great you'll find your selection within the booth given to you." He said, nodding I continued inside the pathway and outside the close both I found headphones and hand gloves waiting for me. After placing them on I entered then closed the door behind me, then chose the lightest weapon for starters.

Weapons.

Yes, you guessed it, I was at a private shooting range. It had taken me a while to find it but I had eventually. Pricey but worth it since it came with so much privacy.

My godparents had taught me how important it was to know my weapons. Their range and reload. To be picky with each selection. So my favorite two weapons were the sniper and shotgun. One quiet and another loud enough to deafen you.

Today they would clear my thoughts.

"You will not grow up weak! Not in this line! Not in this clan." My godmother snapped as she hit me with a stick several times trying to teach me to have a strong stance.

"I'm not your family," I grumbled under my breath. I was exhausted beyond measure and this shit was literally draining me more.

"You are part of this family." She said with a huff.

"I said. I. Am. Not." I snapped. Finally having reached the point where I was angry. "I'm not your daughter! I will never be. You have two sons. Go shove a stick in their hole!" I shouted and threw the stick down. Every time, train, train, train. I never got a chance to breathe or even be. Me! I walked away angrily done with this stupid lecture. She could go turn her sons into girls for all I cared but this shit wasn't for me. thirteen and already fed up with life.

I felt something grab my leg and pull me back roughly, causing me to fall face first. I groaned as I felt the pain spread. I growled but rolled away as soon as I saw the stick coming down, nearly hitting me in the face.

"You are part of this line. I don't raise failures. Now get up otherwise I will kill you child and you know it." she growled.

Headshots.

That's all I had accomplished. All I would forever know.
