Chapter Fifty-Three: Past: Unseen: Bloody Miracles

I felt no pain, heard no sound from the gun, and I hoped my death had come quick as the years of my innocence had flown by.

But I knew

The gun didn't go off, it couldn't have…

It should've. 

I had been waiting for close to two minutes but it hadn't. 

The room was silent. The clock was as loud as my heart and I wondered whether or not this was my hell, to forever wait for my death, and then when it came it would hurt more than it was supposed to.

I slowly opened my eyes and caught eyes with my reflection on the floor, my tears dripped as though rolling stones. 

Now or never

I quickly looked up, only to find him looking down, his gun still pointed at me. my heart still hammered in my chest as curiosity made its way in. I looked down to see what he watched and I saw her hand clasping his ankle. Her eyes still slightly closed.
