Chapter Fifty-Five: Past: Unseen: Death knocks

The gates automatically opened as I approached the house,  having taken a car from Devano place, I had made it to the airport to find my private jet still waiting and now I had finally gotten home. I had sent for one of the men to pick me up so I could avoid the questions as I hadn't changed my clothes, hadn't allowed myself to wash off the stench and the blood. The smell of alcohol was like a stubborn stain on a white shirt and for once I didn't want to pretend that it bothered me. 

It really didn't.

"Gracias hombre." I thanked as the door was opened for me, slipping out, I felt the stares from the staff and the guards. For once I did mind that… as I continued to the stairs I decided to descend underground so that I could apologize to Veno so that I could see if she had made it.
