Element Platforms?

It takes a while, but as the time flies by

"I'm Alex nice to meet you, Mia!" at this point you would think he had put his face in boiling water, it was quite hilarious actually.

Suddenly Alex felt a piercing gaze from behind, he turned around to see who it was but by then all traces of hostility was gone. 'Hmm, I wonder who that was.'

"SORRY MISS!" suddenly a particularly loud voice sounded, it was Milo, "Sorry about that my friends are stupid, don't worry I'll help you discipline them, thank you for understanding!" in the next moment grabbing both of them by their shirts he ran away to another corner. He had clearly misunderstood the situation.

"Wha... t?" and yet again she was stunned at what had just happened, 'How dare that kid ruin this moment for me I'll teach him a lesson when I see him again!' she was about to explode from what had just happened before her eyes if only Milo knew how close to death he was I wonder what his expression would be like.

The next hour Alex and his friends sat at a corner of the grounds, far away from Mia, chatting as they had already made their decision half an hour ago. Alex was angry at Milo, but then again what could he do, he could only wait till everything was over to apologize to her.

Suddenly a voice rang out which caused everyone to stop what they were doing.

"Everybody gather up in an orderly manner! You have been given an hour to decide your Class! There are five Students of the Academy behind me! They will be at those tables taking down your names and the class you've chosen! So I'd suggest you get in line and wait for them to get in place. We will also awaken the elements that you are connected with. If you are 13 and younger it will be relatively easy to awaken but if you are 14 or 15 we might have to take more extreme measures, but don't worry it won't endanger your life!"

" Name, age, and class." It was a Student of the Academy that was behind one of the tables.

"Martha, 14, Mage!"

"Ok, I'd like you to sit on top of this platform for ten breaths, don't worry it's only to awaken your bond with the elements." the student was rather nice and explained it to her with patience.

"What's that?"

"I don't know, does anyone know what that platform is?"

Whispers could be heard among the children. Then suddenly, "I've read about this before!" the voice wasn't particularly loud but everyone heard it, and as soon as they did they turned to him. Alex knew what it was but he was surprised there was someone else who knew about it as well.

"What is it?"

"Come on don't keep us in suspense!"

They were all eager to know what it was. When the owner of the voice from earlier saw that he'd built enough suspense he said, "If I'm not mistaken, that platform should be called the Elementary Element Platform!" he said this in one breath.

"Elementary Element Platform?"

"What's that?"

They were still confused, Alex was even more confused. It was fine if the person only knew what the platform was, but he also knew the specific grade.

"The Element platform is used to awaken the element your body has the closest bond to, by fusing the certain element with your body. This particular platform is called the Elementary Element Platform and this platform can sense the element you have the best connection with it will also glow with the color of the element."

"There are two instances in which this platform would fail, one is when you have no talent for magic, and the other is that you have an affinity with more than one element. In which case you would use an Advanced or Superior Element Platform!" he finished saying all this in a few breaths and when he was done he had a smirk on his face.

'This kid is quite knowledgeable.' Elder Frost was inwardly surprised at how accurate the kid's knowledge was.

'I guess I'm not the only person who likes to read.' Alex smiled and shook his head.

Suddenly the platform started glowing blue, "Ok, it seems you have the water element Next..."

Everything was going smooth until, "Elder Frost, the platform doesn't show any color!"

'Could it be!' everyone had heard the explanation from earlier so they suspected that whoever was at that platform might have more than one element.

Suddenly a domineering voice sounded, "Go get an Advanced Element Platform." it was Elder Frost, he was clearly anticipating something as well

"Yes sir."

A few moments later the Student came back with a circular platform a little bigger than the Elementary Element Platform, this was clearly the Advanced Element Platform.

After it was put down the kid who caused all the commotion from earlier sat on it. Time seemed to have slowed down.

1 breath...

2 breaths...

5 breaths...

10 breaths...

And suddenly, three colors shone brightly from the platform, they were blue, brown, and green.

"Splendid! Kid what's your name?" who else but Elder Frost would be do happy.

"Tyler, 13, Weapon Specialist, and Mage."

"Good good!" Elder Frost couldn't calm down, 'I just hope he won't end up being one of those two...' Elder Frost thought to himself as for what he meant time would tell.

"I'm Alexander, I'm 12. I choose Weapon specialist and Mage!" while everyone was still in a daze of what had just happened, Alex stepped up to the same platform that had just been used.

"What's that kid doing?"

"You don't think he's trying to imitate what just happened?"

"If he is, then he's quite high if I do say so myself."

Whispers could be heard, even Elder Frost was confused by what this kid named Alexander was doing.

"Ok, please sit on the platform." Elder Frost suddenly said.

"Gladly," Alex said with a smirk on his face.

Alex was born into a family of the Wind Element, yet he had a connection with the Flame Element, but was it really just the flame Element?

Once he sat down, they waited again for another 10 seconds, it felt excruciatingly slow.

And finally 4 brightly coloured lights shrouded the platform.

RED.

BLUE.

PURPLE.

AND GREEN, the element his family cherished so much...

...

"ALEX!!!" if Alex was here he would realize that it was his Uncle Merlin.

"What is it father?" suddenly a child about Alex's age walked into the room that made the racket from earlier.

After a deep breath Merlin said, "Nothing Seth, it was merely a bad dream." or so he hoped...
