" Who was that girl?"

As he saw her, his face lit up. He got up and hugged her. My face went red and I scrunched the bottom of the dress I was wearing. I sat there totally lost as the two got their memories freshened up. I took the kid by the hand and walked away. I turned around to see if Dan was looking to see where I was going but unfortunately he wasn't. The whole afternoon I sat in a corner and thought about the thing that had happened before. My blood boiled thinking about it. I was still lost in my thoughts when a lady asked me to join them for lunch. I got up and brushed my pants which were covered in dust. I walked over to the field where all the children were packing up. I wheeled over Mia to the dining room. It was a huge room with many tables for four. I wheeled her to one of the tables near the kitchen and removed a chair. I left her at the table to see what we were getting. I saw a lady coming out of the kitchen with two big bowls in her hand. I took one of them from her. She smiled and asked if I could help her. I willingly said yes. I headed over to the table near me. I gave the kids mac and cheese on their plates and their faces lit up with joy. I reached a table to where the director and the producer were sitting and were playing with the kids. I served them the mac and cheese. The director got up and whispered in my ear softly that I was doing a great job. I smiled at his compliment. I nodded and moved onto the next table. Dan and the girl were laughing with two kids there. I was so angry. He had just forgotten about me after he had seen the girl. I walked over and served them the food. Dan said hi but I did not respond. I went on serving them. I narrowed my eyes and saw Dan with a confused look. That angered me even more. How could he not know what was happening? He began introducing me to the girl. As he was done, I bowed my head and left. I was sitting at the table with Mia when Kabir joined me. He asked me about yesterday night and I just laughed at his question. Kabir and I sat eating together. He was a very funny guy to be honest. It was almost evening when we said bye to the kids and headed to the bus. As I was about to get on I saw Dan and the girl giving each other a goodbye hug. I clenched my teeth and went to sit in the last seat of the bus. I closed my eyes and sighed. As I opened my eyes I saw Dan towering over me. I was shocked and immediately turned my head towards the window. Before he could start, I asked him to go away. His lips turned slightly downwards and he sat on the seat right in front of me. I covered my eyes with my hands and lied back. I assured myself that I was the one Dan liked but I could not stop thinking about that girl. The driver dropped Dan and me off at the university. I bid everybody goodbye and got out of the bus. I was heading to the dorm when Dan took me by the sleeve and pulled me towards him from the back. He asked what had happened. I tried not to say anything but the words made their way out of my mouth without my permission. I asked with tears almost falling out of my eyes " Who was that girl?" Dan understood what was going on. He smiled. I scrunch my nose with anger. He asked if I was jealous. Before I could say anything, he bent down leaving very little space between our faces. He asked me if I was jealous. I pushed him gently and turned around to leave. He shouted from the back that she was like a sister to him. I was surprised at his answer but did not turn around. I kept on walking. What he said next was more shocking. He said that she was the only one who had become his friend when he was a child. I stopped in my tracks. I felt guilty for ignoring him the whole time and making him sad. I slowly walked back to him. I gulped looking at his sad face. I apologised for being so rude to him. He asked me if I wanted to join him for dinner. Glancing at my watch, I thought about it for a moment and said yes. It was almost 8 at night and my stomach was growling. His face lit up when I said yes. I wanted to invite Natalie, Suzy and Joy but also wanted to spend some alone time with Dan. I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard a familiar voice from behind. It was Ryan. I was too busy with all of the shooting and had completely forgotten about him. His face looked pale but at least he looked much better. He waved from a distance and then walked close. I asked if he was okay. He shook his head in a no and pouted. I chuckled. Dan and Ryan shook hands with smiles. Although there were smiles on their faces, there was a hint of jealousy and annoyance. I figured that Dan would be super jealous if I acted nice to Ryan. I wanted to punish him for leaving me alone that afternoon so I asked if Ryan would like to join us for dinner. He said yes and we headed to the streets where there were great restaurants. I could definitely see a little annoyance on Dan's face. As we were walking to the shops, Dan asked us what we wanted to eat. I was craving some chinese at that moment. Both of them thought that it was a good idea to have chinese.
