School. Morning.
Once Siren notices the newcomer enter the classroom, she frowns. Peach, the said newcomer smiled and said hello to everyone.
Siren is okay and gets along with her classmates just fine, but not with this one. She does not know why she's constantly irritated whenever she sees her. It's not like she's done anything wrong to her. The only reason she could come up with is probably how nice Peach is to everyone. And she hates overly nice people.
And, being the jerk that she is, she automatically placed both of her feet on Peach's chair when she saw her approaching their seat. Siren's fortunate she's seated beside the wall since she can lean against it while staring at her surprised expression.
"Ah, that's my seat." She said hesitantly, pointing to the chair.
"So? Can't you see I'm using it?" Siren then played with her pen while secretly observing her facial expression.
'C'mon, get mad.'
Peach surrendered in defeat and nodded. "Then, I'll just wait for you to get done with using it." She then, at that point remained behind the seat while casually glancing at her, also giving her a small smile which irritated her more.
'What the heck. That is not the response I wanted!'
Siren's friends, Hana, and Lea couldn't help themselves from meddling and offered the empty seat beside Lea. Yet, Peach declined them happily and said, "I want to sit there."
"Let her sit, Siren. Don't be so mean." Hana said.
Siren took a glance at Peach once again before surrendering and eliminating her feet, looking irritated.
"Thank you!" Peach cheerfully shouted before jumping to her seat.
Siren just glared at her and continued to gaze at the window.
'Tsk. So annoying.'
Breaktime
Siren, Hana, and Lea's number one spot to hang out throughout their break time is the old flight of stairs at the old faculty building. Students and teachers rarely go there due to ghost stories floating around adding to the building's questionable structure, making it their perfect hideout during breaks.
They were sitting on the flight of stairs, Siren sitting on the higher step while Hana and Lea sits on a step below her. They are drinking their favorite flavored milk. Lea drinks strawberry milk, Hana drinks banana milk, and Siren drinks chocolate milk.
"Hey Peach," Lea called ending the silence.
"What?"
"Why do you hate Peach?"
Hana nods in agreement. "I notice it as well. You're the type to ignore people. However, with Peach..."
"Who says I dislike her?" She replied while slurping her beverage. "I just don't like her."
"Why?" She looked at Hana. "There should be an explanation."
Siren just shrugged her shoulder in reply. Honestly, she doesn't even know why. She's even wondering why every time Peach is around, her blood boils, and her temperature rises.
"But Peach is still so nice with you, She'll still smile at you regardless of whether you're impolite to her," Lea remarked. As though on signal, Peach's smiling face showed up at the forefront of Siren's thoughts. She's smiling so broadly, it made her heart skip a beat.
'What the hell...'
"W-why are we talking about her? It's getting irritating."
Lea shakes her head while Hana giggles at her. "Calm down. We're interested so we're asking."
Siren felt irritated by the flood of questions from them. "I don't know, okay? I don't need to have an explanation, I just don't like her."
Hana felt like somebody is watching them so she gazed upward and saw Peach behind them. Her eyes broadened, and she quickly tapped to get Lea's attention to which she also responded with something very similar.
"P-peach..." Hana called anxiously. She's sure Peach heard what they're discussing.
However, Peach, being the beam of sunlight that she is, smiled and welcomed them. "Hi."
"What... What are you doing here? This is an abandoned building." Hana then, at that point asked, subtly taking looks from Siren to check whether she responds. There's nothing. She didn't appear to mind and kept drinking her Choco milk.
"You all eat here?" Peach asked and gradually strolled down the steps until she stopped beside Siren.
"The cafeteria's packed, and it's quiet here," Hana replied.
"Oh. Really? Hi Siren!" She greeted cheerfully. Siren just glanced at her like she heard nothing. "Is that Choco milk? I like choco milk as well!"
"So?"
"Can I have a sip? They've run out at the cafeteria. I wanted to get it."
"What? No!"
To their surprise, Peach face lights up as though she didn't hear Siren's rude answer. "Really? Thanks!"
The three of them watched in shock as Peach grabbed Siren's Choco Milk, drank it, and fled like a deer.
"Siren..." Hana called, feeling somewhat terrified at Siren's silence. "She... She took your Choco Milk." She added. Lea slapped her on the arm quietly scolding her for stating the obvious.
But what the two didn't know is that Siren, then again, couldn't think of anything except their hands touching each other when Peach took her beverage. She gazed at her right hand; it was shaking, and it was as if she could still feel Peach's cold hands brushing against hers, and her heart thumping quicker.
'What the hell...'
