Getting A Dragon

I stayed in that world for very little time before becoming bored and leaving. I retrieved Eclipse from the world I left her in and we went to a new world. We appeared inside the castle that Eragon had made into the home of the dragons.

"Who exactly are you?"

"Damn. Wrong time." I disappeared once more and appeared in the center of Urû'baen in front of Galbatorix.

"Who exactly are you?" The man with black hair and eyes asks, his face setting into a frown. "Why are you here and how did you get here? This place should be safe."

"It is. At least, for all but me. You see, I use a different kind of magic than you do."

"Interesting. Please, show me more."

"Gladly." I slide off Eclipse's back and dash forward, making my hand as sharp as a blade, and jab him in the neck. He made a faint choking noise and died. If I timed it right, Eragon should be coming right about....

Now. "What happened here? Who are you and how did you do that?"

"Magic." I smirked. "I'll be meeting you later."

"What?" He looked confused as I disappeared, hopping back on Eclipse.

"You again!"

"Hello." I chuckled at the dumbstruck expression on his face. "Now, mind showing me where the dragon eggs are?"

"Why would I do that? You show up out of nowhere after I found you in Galbatorix's throne room and demand for a dragon. Absolutely not!" I hear a faint echoing voice say something but am unable to understand what they said. The voice that answered was masculine rather than feminine. "Fine. Follow me."

As we walked into another area, I saw a huge blue thing appear. In an instant, I realized exactly what this massive being was. "Nice to meet you Saphira. It's a pleasure to meet such a beautiful dragon."

"She says thanks."

"Now. I'd assume you're the one who called for me?" The glimmering scaly head nodded. "What did you need?"

"She wants to talk about your wish to see the eggs."

"I see." I smile. "What did you want to say?"

"She says she wants to meet you properly." I nod and brush her mind softly.

I hear the smile in her voice.

The great dragon laid her head down and I approached, resting a single palm on her head, strengthening our connection.

I mentally switch my thoughts into the Ancient Language.

Saphira's head lifts slightly. She turns to Eragon once more.

"But-"

"Fine." He sighs and looks to me. "Let's go."

We walk through the structure, and I glance around looking at everything. "This place is really well-built."

"Right." Eragon is curt and sounded annoyed.

"Did you make it?"

"No." I sigh, my attempts at small-talk failing. I fall silent the rest of the way there. "Here you go."

"Thanks." I smile and walk into the huge chamber.

"You want your horse?"

"Ah. Yes, please let her in." I chuckle softly. :Horse, eh?:

:Not like I can talk to him and correct it!:

:I'm sure you could.:

:Maybe.:

"Let's go!" I giggle, excited. We walk through the many shelves of eggs as I brush my fingers across the edges of each egg. "Woah." My eyes go wide as I notice one that glowed more than all the rest.

"I believe you've been chosen." Eragon chuckles. "That ones rare."

"What do you mean?"

"Of all the eggs that could have chosen you, it's that one."

"Why's it so special?"

"This one is the egg we've kept the closest eye on."

"Really? How come?"

"Because, by the coloring, it seems like it will be the most powerful of them all."

"Perfect." I smile and pick up the egg. "Thanks for your help."

"Wait a minute-" I was already on Eclipse's back and gone.

I went back to Ashera's castle and knocked on the door to her room. "Come in."

"Hello Queen Ashera." I give her a curtsy, having set the egg on Eclipse's back. "Might I ask to rest in your world?"

"Which one?"

"The one you made."

"You may. Just don't destroy it."

"Of course." I smile and rest my hand against Eclipse's neck. "Sweet." I chuckled and hear a crack. "Ah. Hello my little friend." The little dragon gives out a sound not unlike that of a kitten's. "Come here." I reach out a hand and it climbs up. "What should I name you?" I murmur. "Hmm... Vir?" The little dragonling shook it's head. "Farn?" Again. "Dagon?" Still no. "Valdir? Fangr?" Not one. "Wait a second.. You're not male. That's why." I smile. "Hila?" Her head shakes. "How about... Hmm... Thila?" There was no response but I saw a twinkle in the colorful eye. "I'm glad you like it." I pull out a chunk of meat I made from thin air. The little dragon hatchling gobbled it up happily. "Let's go." I smiled and brought them into the small little cottage-style home where Ashera had raised Phantom.

:What next?:

"We wait." I smile softly and stroke the top of Thila's head. "Then, we travel."
