Impersonation

The sun has risen and so has Hebrew...

Rubbing his right eye, he made his way towards the bathroom. As he looked at himself in the mirror, he could feel how sleepless he looked. Dark circles accompanied those bags under his eyes, making it much worse.

Though he had been sleeping a bit, he still was feeling tired and dizzy. Headaches often knocked on his doors and he had no urge to work now. But if he wants to live...the only way is to solve the case and earn a living...

"Ugh!" He groaned and looked down into the sink, his hands on either side of the sink.

The doorbell rang...Wait! The doorbell rang?!

So thought Hebrew. Thinking about who was this new person wanting to enter his house, he ran towards the door.

But before he could, the door opened, and there stood a lady. She was dark-skinned from what her slightly exposed forehead said. Her golden eyes looked sad, and a biscuit coloured scarf she wore covered everything else. Hebrew looked at her from head to toe, and his eyes narrowed a bit, but he quickly composed himself.

"Yes?" He asked monotonously.

"Mr Hebrew...don't you remember me?" The lady asked, her voice low and calm.

Hebrew narrowed his eyes, thinking about her appearance. No one came to his mind.

"Sorry but...who?" He eventually asked.

"Oh...um...I'm the woman from that night." She claimed.

Hebrew's eyes grew wider. He looked down, then here and there. What was he thinking?

"Woman, from that night? Am I supposed to understand what I'm understanding right now?" He mumbled.

"The woman who came as a witness for the case of the last woman who died, Martha."

As she spoke up, Hebrew sighed, "Oh! Yeah! I remember...actually your face..." And he acted out how it was covered with a scarf.

The woman nodded, " I understand. So, can I...come in?"

"Huh? Yeah! Of course..." Hebrew shifted to the side and gave her a way in.

She walked in steadily, gulping in the details of Hebrew's house with both of her eyes.

"It's a friendly house." She said.

"Oh! Really?" Hebrew walked behind her.

"Yeah!" She turned around and Hebrew stopped, looking at her. She was standing too close.

"No. One. Told before." Hebrew uttered out some words and made his way towards his chair near the glass board.

"You may sit over there." He pointed out on the sofa.

The lady nodded and sat down on the sofa.

"Would you like to have something? Coffee, water...anything?" The lady shook away as an answer.

"O-kay then...why have you come here? I mean...Is there anything you want to ask?"

"There is...but before it, can I have a glass of water?" She requested.

He nodded. 'This lady has strange behaviour. If she was already thirsty why not ask for it before?' He thought.

He made his way towards the kitchen, which was just in front of the sofa. His mind wasn't calm. This woman was suspicious and Hebrew knew who she was.

On the kitchen counter, he poured her a glass of water. His back facing her. Not knowing the purpose, he could still feel her eyes stuck on his back. He was getting curious about why was she here in a disguise.

And he got to know her purpose when she spoke up.

"Actually...I know who the murderer is."

Hebrew froze at his place, his mind failing to understand in what way he should react. As soon as he gained the confidence to turn around, he looked at the lady standing.

"Who?" He asked, keeping his voice calm as much as possible. His one eyebrow lifted.

"First...can I have that?" She pointed at the glass.

Hebrew looked at his hands and nodded. He walked swiftly towards her and handed the glass to her.

She kept her face covered with the scarf in front of Hebrew. Turning to the other side, so that he couldn't see her face, she drank it in one gulp and as the glass parted away from her lips; she breathed in heavily.

Covering herself back with the scarf, gave out the glass, looking at him. Hebrew looked at her too, trying to read the mind which was trying its best to deceive him, and didn't even know that it had failed.

"Now, tell me. Who's the murderer?" He asked out confidently.

One thing was for sure, she...didn't know who the murderer was.

"I will...but first I wanted to know something." She sat back on the sofa.

Hebrew kept the glass beside the telephone and sat in front of her, on another sofa.

"Go ahead!" He spoke.

"I heard...another murder took place. And that, you were at the scene as soon as it took place."

Hebrew nodded, "Yeah I was."

"If you don't mind, can I ask, how come you were there?"

"Sorry but...why am I supposed to tell you that?" He questioned out quickly, and simply.

The woman cleared her throat. "Because I want to know if I'm giving out the information to the right person or not."

Hebrew nodded, not at all pleased by her reason.

"I see...well, if I were to tell then...I would've but. There ain't any specifications why I was there. It was just so random."

The lady's eyes narrowed. "You want me to consider that you usually go out on a walk on Ewer street? Does that make sense?"

"Well, Winchester was also there. Why don't you ask him about his whereabouts? Cause I'm not answerable to anyone."

She was getting furious at Hebrew's behaviour.

"Oh really? Don't you think you're acting suspiciously, Mr Hebrew?" She questioned.

"And don't you think you're acting suspicious, Ms Lennon?"

Hebrew quickly asked as she finished her question, giving no time for her to register what he said.

"Answer me, Ms Lennon?" He called out her name dramatically to make her realise what he has said.

As she realised, her eyes grew wider, and she was utterly shocked.

"Now will you tell, what are you doing her wearing a disguise?"

He stood up and picked up the glass and walked towards the kitchen casually, as if not at all shocked or surprised by her behaviour.

Jessica kept staring at his back, but her words went numb.

"Why are not you answering, were you really thinking you had deceived me?"

He turned towards her, a slight disappointment in his eyes. "Come on, Ms Lennon. Do not you remember?"

She frowned and narrowed her eyes. His question wasn't quite understandable to her.

"I am the finest one!"

"If you thought that after drinking, just two-three glasses of hocks could make me drunk then...you are really quite naïve."

She clenched her fist, eyes glaring at him.

He walked towards her. "You thought you'll cover your face and I won't ever recognise who you are?"

He hovered over her, his hands placed on the arms of the single sofa she was sitting on.

Staring at her, he spoke up. "The way you walk, talk and look. I know everything, Ms Lennon."

He gritted his teeth. "Now tell me why? Why are you here?"

Jessica uncovered her face, only to show him the smirk she wore, her eyes glittering with confidence. She looked at him. "If you know everything, then find out the reason too?"

She stood up, pushing him back. Folding her arms over her chest, she looked back at him. "After all, you're the finest one, aren't you?"

She simply walked out of his house and Hebrew didn't stop her. She was challenging him, Flynn Hebrew. No one had done this before.

"What are you up to Jessica Lennon?" He clenched his fists...
