Author Note: As there might be some questions regarding how there is a foreign student in this school, I will explain a little bit about it. "Kokusai high school is an international high school that accepts foreign students" that's all. You can search the internet for further information, although I am not really sure as I never go to that school and there might be some wrong information.

Chapter 3: Hero summoning part 2

Mirtas - 26 month of fire 3728 (throne room in the day of summoning)

Tetsuo POV:

After arriving in front of the gate, we are told to put our belongings in a separate area as we aren't allowed to bring them in front of the king.

(Tetsu) 'Looks like even though we are heroes, we aren't allowed to bring our belongings with us to the throne room huh?'

After putting our belongings in the prepared place, we get inside the big room as the armored guys who I assumed to be palace knights open the door to the throne room.

(All knight) "The summoned heroes have arrived!!!"

We walked to the front of the king as we faced him in an unorganised crowd with our teacher, Matsumura sensei standing in front of us. We stand at a distance as allowed by the knights which are 15 meters in front of the King who is sitting on the throne with his lazy but scanning eyes.

(Tetsu) 'Shit, somehow I start regretting that Rei is not here with us since he might be able to tell whether the king is a good person or not? After all, I know that most summoning is done with no good intention.'

(Tetsu) 'Is there any way I can solve this? Right!, I can just record it on my phone secretly and rewatch it later! While it is impossible for Rei to be coming here, I can still show it to others later for analysis as Rei is not the only smart person in this class! There is that class rep Uehashi Ririko and Erick, the second nerd of this class.'

(Tetsu) 'Not only that, I can also show him our adventures later to him when we come back! It is lucky for me to bring a power bank with a solar charger as I always anticipated this kind of event for my whole life!'

With that, I record the scene while putting my phone in my chest pocket to not make it obvious. I then focus on the king again to inspect him.

Unaware of him, this method is very risky as he still didn't know the level of civilization the world has achieved and whether there might be a previous hero who brought a smartphone to this fantasy world. Luckily for him, this is the first time that this kingdom has ever summoned a hero from another world and never knew what a smartphone really is.

Returning to Tetsu's inspection of the King, the King appeared to be in his forties with a golden hair and beard which still glowing brightly from the light in this room that I presumed to be a magic lamp or something of the like. He is of warrior build with fierce facial features and a strong body. Unfortunately, I am unable to guess his height as he is sitting on his throne, but if I have to guess, he is very tall.

After a 5 seconds silence, it appears that he finally starts his greetings.

(King) "Greetings oh summoned heroes. I am the king of this Kingdom, Willes Siges Betfield. As told by the legend, we are hereby requesting your assistance in exterminating the demons that have tried to destroy this kingdom and end our races."

(Tetsu) 'pff.... what a lame excuse. Well, with or without his request, I am still not going to help this kingdom. It is not because I don't trust him as I can't really tell, but because.... there might be some cute demon girls out there for me to befriend!! So no way for me to follow his request like this!'

It is a good thing for Tetsu for his sentence to only be inside his mind and not said out loud. While it can be seen from his face for those who know him enough, from those who didn't, they will just think of him as weird. If somehow the King were to hear his sentence, he might puke blood immediately from how ridiculous his reasoning is to this world.

(King) "We of the Betfield kingdom have been oppressed and tormented multiple times by those unruly demons. They have killed lots of children and innocent people anywhere they conquered. As of now, we are at the forefront of the battle of survival between us and those vile demons as we are nearest to their home ground "Nevileland" compared to the other kingdom."

(King) "As of now, all of you might be tired from the summoning. We have prepared a place for all of you to rest in this castle and you will be given a further explanation of the demons by someone tomorrow. We also prepared you dinner by the hall, so please come and eat as much as you please."

(Tetsu) 'Eh? We aren't allowed to accept or refuse?'

This sentiment is not only present in this particular boy but also the whole class including the physic teacher who is dazed out of his stupor from thinking how it is possible for them to be teleported from a location to another entirely different location.

As someone hailed as a young genius of his generation who has achieved a lot of things in his relatively young age of 22 years old. This now 30 years old male is now thinking about whether he can finally advance his personal research by studying and researching the potential of teleportation from this world technology. Despite his fame at his young age, due to his research in the field of space and time being stagnant for a long time, his fame decreases as he grows older.

However, despite his decreasing fame, he is still hellbent on trying to understand the concept of space and time until he is able to manipulate them. This intrinsic quality of him is the reason why he is still a smart person in his core. In fact, the reason he teaches in this school is to try to gain some ideas from the younger generation while also because of being invited by his old friend who became a principal of the school.

But his fantasy is shaken off as the King ends his speech about how the student and he are going to fight demons as their heroes or more specifically as their soldiers.

(Matsumoto sensei) "Wait a minute, what do you mean we have to fight demons! I am a scholar and they are students! We are not soldiers. How come we are going to fight demons? You also are not even expecting us to agree first before excusing as for the day!"

(Some classmates) "Yeah! That's true, send us back already!"

(Tetsu) 'ah here comes the debate that usually happens in every isekai story. Well, not like it is gonna matter to me. But, what do they mean as dinner? Hmm... maybe it is already night or noon in this world? I forgot to consider time dilation between our world. But since our lunch is interrupted, our dinner in this world is gonna be our lunch I guess..'

(Tetsu) 'Though, I hope we don't come back as old men and old women when we finally go back to Earth while seeing Rei still in his high school years. Well, not like I am gonna care whether I can return or not. While it might be fun and interesting to see the people on the earth and Rei's reaction to magic, it is not worth it to spend my whole life looking for a way back'

The rest happen similarly to the usual cliche Isekai summoning, the teacher and students protest and ask to be returned to their world. Then the King informed us that there is no way back to our home. This is then followed by our heroic figure which most of the time becomes a joke speech to motivate the whole class. Though from the corner of my eyes, I can see that only half of the class is listening to him while the rest is rolling their eyes.

(Tetsu) 'Huh? Are they rolling their eyes because of his speech or because of the cliche progression of isekai because they know it? I only know that Suki rolled her eyes because she is an otaku and the 3 troublemakers roll theirs because they didn't respect that guy as for the rest? I don't know?.'

After the usual conflict, we are then excused to our room while the maid leads us to our respective places. After leading us to our respective rooms, the maid leaves us while telling the location for our dinner and that it will start in 30 minutes. It also seems that our belongings are already placed in our room as I can see them placed on the floor after entering my room.

(Tetsu) 'Shit! Those bastards! I hope that they don't take anything from my bag and also not handle my stuff carelessly. There are many things in my bags that are supposed to be confidential(manga(ecchi)) and important (phone). I don't know about Rei's bag, but I hope they also don't take anything from him as it seems they also give his bag to my room, probably after seeing me carrying it."

After lots of searching and checking...

(Tetsu) 'Phew… Looks like all my stuff is ok. As for Rei's belongings, I am not really sure?'

I found something that looks like a pyramid made out of unknown metal that shines from the light in my room. Is this a detection or spying tool? Are the king and his servant the one who put it to spy us and unknowingly put it in Rei's bag? After all, I never knew Rei's ever talking or showing this thing to me if it is something important for him.

(Tetsu) "Well… better to throw it away then. I don't want those old man to spy on me especially if I was doing my personal stuff to release my stress or reading my newly bought manga"

With that, I open the window which seems to be made out of wood and brownish glass, and throw the object as far as I can. ~thug~

(Tetsu) "Hmm… it seems that it landed on some dirt. Well, looks like the problem is solved!"

Unknown to him, He is throwing the SES beacon which is supposed to let Rei teleport to this world.

(Tetsu) "Now! Finally! The moment that I have been waiting for since coming to this world as I want to keep it as secretly as possible. "Status!""

(Tetsu) "What? Maybe it's wrong? Let's try differently, Open Status!...Status Open!....Show Status!...Menu!....….Open Menu!... Menu Open!...Show Menu!....Hmm…. what else? Oh right! Inspect Status!"

I think I will ask Suki about this in the dinner secretly"

With that, I waited for the dinner time while reading my probably last manga in my entire life and left my room after dinner time arrived.

Narrator POV:

In the silent night, lay upon the forest behind a huge castle is a silvery metallic object with a pyramid-like shape. The object shines upon the moon which shone its blue light to the forest, a different moon than what people of the Earth have ever seen. As the object shone in the dark forest, a bird with feathers as dark as night took interest in it and started to close in on its location. The bird took the shining object with his claw as it flew toward the deeper part of the forest in the night sky.
