~ 4: Asking Out ~

Days have passed and my strength has finally recovered.

Governor Saturn told me that there had been small group of people who would raid from a side to another, he told me he planned to let us, heroes, blend in with the villagers and then handed me a contract from another town and thought of reading it while I'm still at bed rest.

After a few hours, I finally decided to go out.

I went straight to the fields to greet the farmers who were just harvesting wheats to supply the bakers for their breads.

Mrs. Crusille, the wife of a baker, handed me a basket full of freshly grabbed apples and mangoes.

"Oh, welcome back dear Fionnè! How have you been? Can you finally do work again? Maybe these fruits can help you, at least it would give you sugar to keep you energized!" She said.

I smiled.

"Don't worry about me, Mrs. Crusille. But I sure do like to make these as an additional flavors for my crepe cakes at home." I glowed.

"How are the crops while I'm gone?"

"Oh they're doing magnificently, as usual, Fionnè. We've harvested hundreds and added it to our stocks! It should last around 5-8 months!" She said.

"That's good news! But, I do have something important to say. A nearby town has decided to buy 1/4 of what we can harvest today. I haven't really thought of a price for them to pay in exchange of these." I scratched my chin. She smiled.

"That's not a problem at all! 1/4 of our freshly harvested crops would be a thousand and fifty gold coins!" She said.

A thousand and fifty..?

Isnt that... A bit expensive...?

"Well. I'll think about it later. But for now, let me help all of you."

Mrs. Crusille happily stepped back and watched me do what I usually do in the fields.

I closed my eyes and channeled my inner energy to the tip of my fingers. It felt warm and ticklish. I motioned my hands, helping the flow of the energy reach my fingers fast. I knelt down with my right, and touched the ground and drew a star.

It glowed very bright.

As I open my eyes,

I felt my hair fall down.

Mrs. Crusille hurriedly walked towards me.

"You'd always look so majestic looking like that! You and your glowing white hair and eyes! You somewhat look like a goddess!"

The crops around us started to dance, producing more fruits, vegetables and herbs to harvest. All of our farmer cheered in glee.

"Please do remind the others that 1/4 of the harvested crops here will be sent to the town of Eastenwale." I said.

Mrs. Crusille nodded and started to call everyone's attention.

I decided to head back home.

I've been informed that there had been a change in living in our headquarters.

It really could have been better if we blend in the villagers rather than staying in one spot. If we did, we wouldn't be capable of expanding our guards to protect our town from raids.

I headed to a nearby giant tree; a hundred and six foot height with 200 sq. meters width, covered with long and thick vines with a lamp at the tip of it. Fireflies swarmed the tree as it would look like night time once you've stepped into the tree's shade.

There was an elegantly designed door at the trunk of the tree. It was filled with carved stars, a moon and a sun.

This was said to be my home now.

I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it and pushed it open.

"Hey there." Marshall greeted. He was laying down on the wooden couch filled with small star shaped pillows.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I got bored in my house, so I went to check out yours. Pretty cool." He said.

I looked at him with disgrace.

"You didn't ask permission though." I said. I marched towards him and pulled him up.

"Please leave." I said.

"Nah, I wanna stay. Heard you're making a crepe cake." He said as he looked at the basket that I was holding.

"Were you eavesdropping on us earlier?" I raised a brow. He chuckled and stood up.

"I want to ask you something. It's been a while." He said as he caressed my cheek. I looked away, dodging his hand and walked towards the kitchen. He followed eventually.

"I'm not kidding this time Fionnè. You know how I joke about liking you, but..." He scratched his head

"What, you like me now?" I crossed my arms.

"Yeah..."

I can't help but laugh.

"What?! I'm serious!" He said.

"Yeah, sure." I placed the basket on the kitchen counter.

"Come on... Allow me to ask you out this time." He said.

"You really don't know how to ask a girl out?" I scoffed.

"If ever I learned about it, would you want to go out with me?" He said with a straight face.

"Nyeh, I'll think about it." I said.

"Knock knock! Look at these lovebirds!" Autumn entered from the front door.

"So much for blending in with the villagers!" Dex went inside and spins, looking at the house.

"Your 2nd floor looks like a balcony! How does a tree with this size able to make such space and rooms for an individual?" asked Gino.

"But the most important question of all, is the lovebirds dating already?" Autumn gave us a wink and a nudge with her elbow.

"No. We're not." I casually said as I turn around and started to prepare everything I needed to make a crepe cake.

"I need you guys to, uh... Help me out. Can we talk about it in my place?" Marshall said as he pushed everyone out of my house and shut the door behind him.

I didn't mean to offend Marshall if ever I said something that hurts him.

He's a cold hearted guy, I've witness him kill children, women, harmless animals and more! I don't know, the idea of it just sinked in me. Or... Did it..?
