Back in the present day, Nath was barely standing and his father came to his aid, some other rushed to scene, whispers filled the halls as everything was going on. This is not a good sign, his father thought I'm in a tight situation then an idea popped into his head. "Get your act together", he whispered to his son.
"This is a good sign" Pastor Jeff said as he took the mic, "For anyone to be a leader in the church you have to be drunk in the Spirit of God and as you can all see my son is deep in the spirit. He has transcended the normal plane", he went on about how his son was God's selected, slowly the people stopped their whispers, he had taken over the situation, he had the people back in his control, he hoped his son would snap out from his trance any time soon as he tried to buy time for him. The congregation as gullible as ever eat up whatever he said, he was their man of God after all or maybe their god.
Meanwhile, Nath was having a confrontation of a life time, he couldn't believe his eyes, was this real, what's real how, why, sweating profusely in a well ventilated auditorium, his heart was no longer with him. I can see but that's not supposed to happen, I killed her with my own hands, she was real but how
"Hey, Nath" Ada called out to him "A crowd is waiting for you go play their prince like you've always wanted, I just came to support you like I've always done".
She circled him.
"Don't worry only you can see me" she whispered into his ears.
Nath began to regain consciousness, his breathing was returning to normal, his grip on reality came back, everything seemed to come back to normal except his mind which was racing with fear.
He got back to his feet, look ahead to see his father, the man he always wanted to be but at that moment he was scared of being like his father he hated everything about his father for some reason, he found himself blaming his father for this situation he was in. But he couldn't tell anyone, as he stared at his, his dad replied with a big smile as he made a gesture for Nath to get up.
Nath felt like running off the pulpit but once again he put his Father's reputation ahead of his feelings. He walked up to his father and grabbed the mic from and in that short instance his father's told him it's all set for you.
What am I ?
Who am I?
It doesn't matter
A good name is better than silver or gold
Nath asked himself
He took a deep breath
"Praise the Lord" He shouted
"I said somebody praise the Lord" with that the crowd went wild on a normal day he would be one of the happiest man on earth, but today he was the most terror-stricken man on earth.
He tried as much as possible to forget what happened but couldn't, she was everywhere he looked he saw
She cheered for him, sadness and guilt filled his heart.
He gave his speech like he had practiced.
The congregation roared. He could control the crowd just like his Father. It made his father who was behind smile from ear to ear, the ministry goes on. The legacy of Pastor Jeff just got better, I wonder what other Pastors will think of me. They will be so jealous. The media will respect me more, we all know how hard it is to raise a child in these modern time and I not only raised a good, I made him follow my path.
Now I have to start prepping him for a big wedding, I wonder which other big Pastor's child I should have him marry. He never complains such a good boy.
Nath ended the speech and applauds increased, He turned around to see his fathers big and bright smile
Though they had almost similar genes, their emotions at this moment was far from similar.
Pastor Jeff hugged his son, but Nath wasn't feeling like a son.
Ada looked down on him and felt nothing but pity
Why didn't I force my way into his life?
Why didn't I try to save him?
He is not happy, he has never been happy
Nath filled with guilt, sadness and terror.
After the service was over lots of people came over to congratulate him. He responded them with a cheerful smile, he had a turmoil within him but made sure his smile was as bright as it could be and he was a good actor that no one even noticed he was going through.
The fact that no one could notice his pain made him worsen.
Pastor Jeff boasted loudly as he celebrated his son. "Which other Pastor in this whole country can raise a child like me?"
"Wait I want you to tell me
My son is perfect, no fault. The want their children to be like mine but it can't happen.
I live what I preach" He went on and raved more about himself.
The crowd cheered him on
"Man of God, Bishop, Prophet, The Chosen one" The crowd called out
"Yes, I am the Chosen One" Pastor Jeff responded.
Nath slowly hid himself from the live of the party.
Rushing to find a private spot, he landed in a small toilet.
He washed and kept on splashing water hoping this was some kind of bad dream. If only I can go back in time I would have done things very different.
Now water no longer splashed his face, they left his eyes.
What have done?
Why did I do it?
He couldn't hold the flood gates anymore, it came rushing down.
Someone help me
Someone save me
Please someone save me
Anyone, daddy, anyone, Ada.
Please help me
Ada I am sorry.
