Chapter 17 One Week

After the church service, the coffin was sent to the cemetery. Unlike ordinary burial scenes, fewer people were left for the burial ceremony, only three or four middle-aged people in black dresses. After the pastor read the prayers, he looked at his relatives and friends, but found no one else had anything to say, and gestured to the people of the Grande Funeral home.

Matthew instructed the hired farmer to put down the coffin. After the deceased's relatives and friends sprinkled a handful of soil, he waved, and several sturdy farmers began to fill the grave with the soil...

It was always awkward to watch a stranger's funeral. The Grande's people stood far away, waiting for the end of the funeral process. However, Zach and Benjamin have become accustomed to this real job, not just them, but also others.

Matthew has already memorized the funeral process, and Benjamin could watch it without any intervention.
