Chapter 33 Dark energy

Chu Yunsheng leaned against the wall and lit up another cigarette, feeling depressed. It was not the return of those people that depressed him, but the shrieks of those who were being killed by the insects below the building. It reminded him once again that the insects had increased to a number that no matter how fast he increased his strength, he would still be on the losing side.

The girl saved by Yu Xiaohai also came back. Maybe she didn't even leave very far. She sat on the side next to Chu Yunsheng and Yu Xiaohai, which was far away from Gu Liming's squad.

Whenever a scream appeared on the street, she would shiver nervously as if she was a panicky bunny.

The screams on the street had already stopped, but the sound of insects still could be heard from time to time. The girl near Chu Yunsheng was still crying quietly and Professor Sun's group had been gathered together as if they were discussing something.

Yu Xiaohai was still unconscious. If it was not for the fact that he was still breathing, Chu Yunsheng would have given up already.

Raising his head, Chu Yunsheng looked at the sky. Suddenly, he noticed that the dark night appeared to have a trace of hazy shimmer. His heart started to jump rapidly. He immediately pushed up the visor to look at it carefully again.

He was not wrong. The sky clearly had a trace of weak light. Although darkness was still enveloping the Earth, under the hazy dim light, people were able to see the shadows and outlines of the surrounding objects. At least, they were not completely blind without fire, torches, or other light sources now.

What is this? Are we finally going back to the age of light? Chu Yunsheng was very excited, his eyes even teared up. It was not that he was emotionally strong, but he had always been hiding his weakness deep inside.

He quickly jumped up and pushed Yu Xiaohai several times. "Xiaohai, wake the fuck up. It's back. The sunlight is back! Stop pretending you are dying!"

"He won't be able to wake up anytime soon," Said professor Sun. He slowly walked towards Chu Yunsheng with a crutch and sat in front of him.

"He is in the awakening state. Based on our study, dark energy is currently transforming his body. So he won't be able to wake up anytime soon." The old man explained.

"Dark energy?" Chu Yunsheng was confused. Originally, he thought that this old man was going to ask him more questions about the armor, but he didn't expect that the old man would tell him this.

Chu Yunsheng seemed to have heard this word before. Probably, it was from the neighbor who lived above him at building No. 8.

Professor Sun nodded his head and explained, "Yes, dark energy. Combined with dark matter, they made up 96 percent of the whole universe. It could be even more."

"You are saying that this dark energy is transforming his body?" Apart from the book, this was the first time he heard that someone actually had some answers for the ability awakening. But he had kicked this old man earlier, so he did not know if this professor would tell him more about it.

However, Professor Sun seemed to have forgotten about what Chu Yunsheng did. He sighed, "Yes, but not all types of dark energies have this kind of power, and in terms of this particular type, we are still studying it."

Chu Yunsheng suddenly thought of the ancient book. The book mentioned that Heaven and Earth Yuan Qi could only be gathered after Tian Gui's seal was broken.

In order to confirm if what he guessed was right and if he understood the book correctly, he asked, "What about before the disappearance of the Sun? Why wasn't there anything like this?"

The professor smiled, "During the age of light, the only dark matter we could detect was Neutrinos, but the amount of them can be ignored in the world of dark matters. The rest of the dark matters and dark energies were all just hypotheses. There was no evidence to support them, until the dark age… But…"

Chu Yunsheng was enthralled by the information he received, he immediately asked, "But what?"

Professor Sun waved his hands and said, "It doesn't really matter now if I tell you this. We did intensive research on dark matters and dark energies just after the Sun disappeared. Unfortunately, our time was limited. Because of insects, our research was terminated. So we still couldn't answer all the questions. This is an esoteric subject. If we could understand it, not only would we be able to eliminate the insects, but also we would even be able to fly out of our solar system."

Chu Yunsheng nodded his head secretly. Maybe Yuan Qi is also a kind of dark energy. Perhaps the people from ancient times just called it differently.

When Chu Yunsheng was still in building No. 8, his neighbor once told him that the power that the Ice-punch man had might contain dark energy. But he didn't expect that it would be true!

Looking at the old man who was explaining his research result to him, Chu Yunsheng suddenly remembered that he had kicked the old man earlier. How could a normal person withstand his kick?

Last time, the thug he kicked had a serious injury. Even Gu Liming, who had also been kicked by him earlier, was still rubbing his belly in pain at this moment.

Professor Sun didn't know what Chu Yunsheng was thinking. He shifted his attention to Yu Xiaohai and said, "Your friend's condition is very strange. Chu Yunsheng suspected that it was because the energy shield was suppressing the chaotic dark energy. But he didn't want to tell the professor this. "It's a pity that we don't have lab equipment here." Professor Sun sighed. What he said sent a chill down Chu Yunsheng's spine. 

Seeing that Chu Yunsheng's face had turned pale, Professor Sun quickly realized what Chu Yunsheng was thinking. He couldn't help but laugh, "Haha, people are always scared of human lab research. However, in my entire academic career, I've never seen or heard anyone hurt any awakened humans."

Chu Yunsheng didn't expect that this old man would mistake him as an awakened human, but it was best this way. It meant that everyone else wouldn't find anything strange about him.

After he heard the old man's explanation, he smiled. He still did not know when Yu Xiaohai would wake up, and the time to retreat from this city was getting closer and closer, but the impression of the old man in his mind had improved a lot.

After all, he had told him a lot of things that he did not know before. Thinking that he still had a lot to learn, he made a deal with the old man. He gave the old man a half bag of bread, but the old man needed to tell him everything he knew about the awakened humans.

Chu Yunsheng was relieved when he heard the old man say that in his knowledge, no one was more powerful than Chu Yunsheng.

Suddenly, a shout burst out on the quiet roof. It was Yu Xiaohai, he finally woke up!
