Chapter 12-Undercurrents

2 People sat huddled around a monitor showing a screen depicting the 2v2 fight that had happened yesterday.

"What can we gather from this?" The mouse spoke to a skinny blond haired man who was none other than All-might in his weak form.

Nezu had also filled him in on his suspicions about young Killua, and he was now taking firsthand information from All-might's opinion

Toshinori Yagi pondered for a moment "Very skilled one close range combat almost like he has had a lot of experience. It almost looked like he was toying with them" he replied since throughout the entire fight, the white haired boy never even looked like he broke a sweat

Nezu nodded "His combat experience makes him look like an old veteran. He even used a bo staff which he was quite proficient in knocking them out with a hard blow to the head with no hesitation at all" he added a little too harshly causing Toshinori to frown

"I know your quite suspicious of him, but simply knocking them out was less dangerous than for example Bakugo exploding the building. I think it was considerate of him to do that since they woke up soon after with no lasting injuries. This is a much better result than broken bones or a concussion" he concluded

"You have a point there, but there was another thing I found quite strange" the mouse said tapping his finger on the desk

"The way he crept up behind him without them noticing him. Instead of being simply being cautious with quiet footsteps like I originally thought, it is a much more likely possibility that he can control his presence to a level making him almost undetectable similar to a few talented pro hero's I have met" he said with a deep look

"Hmm I noticed that as well. It is quite hard to do. I was never talented in that field" he said with a chuckle gesturing since he wasn't exactly the stealthiest hero

*Sigh " I just want you to watch him as well as Aizawa. Besides, you should be going with him to the rescue training tomorrow. Anyway, how is your successor coming along?" He asked since he was one of the few who knew the secret

All might looked conflicted "He has great potential, but he has had the quirk for far too little time, so his control over the quirk far from great" he said with a sigh

"Another issue, is that he may be having self confidence after seeing the fight between Todoroki and Killua. Both of them are at a much higher level, and especially Killua who took Todoroki out relatively quickly." All might spoke up obviously very concerned with his successors wellbeing

"Hmmm, it might be negative or a positive effect, it depends on the mindset. It could also be a major motivation for the students especially for people like Todoroki or Bakugo who are very confident in their abilities. It showed them that there is an even higher level for their age group so they don't get complacent. " Nezu spoke after a moment with a thoughtful expression.

He sighed "I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out..."

"Bye Killua" Himiko stood near the door waving in a half dressed state

*Sigh "Try not to kill anyone today" he replied taking the typical route to school

She had rejected the league of villains invitation, so he had been quite cautious for a reprisal, but they didn't seem to care much.

Much to his annoyance when he arrived, there was a large crowd of reporters outside harassing the students for interviews and such

"How is All-might as a teacher?" One reporter asked Bakugo who was walking boy getting completely ignored. The guy tried to follow him but the violent kid's signature death glare sent the reporter packing looking for easier prey

"Hey kid, do you have all-might as a teacher?" Another reporter said excitedly noticing him rolling up on a skateboard

"Who are you?" Killua responded disinterestedly

"I'm Sugo Wakkanabe reporting for the Kyoto times" he said proudly puffing out his chest

"Never heard of them" he said with an amused expression before rolled through the crowd hopping the curb as he picked up speed. A few people tried to block him, but they soon got out of the way seeing the kid didn't plan to stop anytime soon reaching near 25 miles per hour with just a few pushes.

The interesting thing was Aizawa was nearby likely having gone through the gate quite recently, so Killuahopped off taking a few steps to break his speed before he stopped right next to the disheveled man "Reporters pissing you off?" Killua commented with a raised eyebrow noticing Aizawa looking more annoyed than usual which was saying something

He seemed to give Killua a strange look for a moment before he replied in a gruff tone "All-might comes for 2 days and I already have to deal with this nonsense" the eraser hero said looking back towards the reporters near the gate with a mix of disgust and annoyance

Killua shrugged "It's good to have someone the public can rely on like him, but I would never be able to stand the constant annoyance that would come with the fame" he said with a small laugh and Aizawa nodded in agreement looking at him in a slightly new light

"You know, you aren't really mentioned much online even though your quirk is probably one of the most useful abilities for taking out villains there is" Killua said with a curious look "Guess its because you don't like the spotlight too much?" He questioned

The aforementioned man nodded "Something like that. Another reason is that the less people who know your abilities the better" he said with a smirk raising an eyebrow towards Killua like he was hinting something

Killua ignored the look making his way inside with the teacher as home period soon started

"Today we are going to be deciding on a class representative/president" the eraser hero spoke lazily looking around as quite a few people jumped out of their seats

"I want to be representative" said Mina excitedly

"Naturally it should go to someone capable of handling the work that comes along with it" Tenya spoke in a hinting manner

"If I'm president, skirts have to be shorter than 12 inches," Mineta said cheerfully raising a fist up in the air as he looked around for potential support instead. Instead of receiving support however, he only got glares as Jiro the resident goth girl, brought her finger across her neck in a threatening motion.

"If I'm president, we tie Mineta to a pole and beat him with sticks every homeroom" Killua said with amusement as the purple haired kid sent him a look of fear

"Get out of the way losers, the position should obviously go to the strongest!" The fiery blond yelled attracting looking like he was ready to fight which attracted a look of contempt from Tenya "Glad to see you're supporting Killua" Tenya smirked pushing his glasses up on his nose in a disdainful manner causing Bakugo to become enraged "Like your one to talk you four-eyed freak. Why don't you come to test your chances" he spoke raising a hand up provocatively

"Now now, getting provoked so easily. Certainly not the proper manner of a class president" he continued to look at him with scorn

It was at that moment, that a clear calm voice came from the back "We should settle this with a vote. That way no one can complain" Momo Yaoyoruzo spoke calmly with a business like voice as a few heads nodded in agreement "Mr Aizawa, is that okay?" she asked and the man shrugged "I don't care, you figure it out" he said zipping up his sleeping bag and laying on the ground resembling a caterpillar

The class proceeded to write who they were voting for on a slip of paper before putting it in a jar towards the front. Since Momo Yaoyoruzo had suggested it, she was the one to draw them up marking tallies on the board for each person.

Finally, the scores totaled up and showed the results of the voting- Killua 4, Tenya Iida 3, and Momo Yaoruzo 3 with the others either being 2, 1 or 0

Immediately everyone looked towards Killua expectantly as the white haired boy stood up and walked to the front of the class.

He cleared his throat like he was about to give a speech as he paused for a moment

"I am honoured to have been selected as the president for the class and I thank all of you who voted for me" he spoke with a wide cat-like grin

"My first act as president of this is to elect both Tenya Iida, and Momo Yaoruzo as my vice presidents" Killua spoke professionally gesturing for them to move up as they took their places next to him

"Now that that's all clarified, I resign as president of this classroom leaving Tenya and Momo to duke it out" he said with a amused grin as he quickly went back to his seat pulling his phone out to play a mobile game

"..."

"....Asshole"

Ummm Okay...." Momo soon recovered from her shock before she looked towards the board with a frown

"Me and Iida both had 3 votes, how should we settle this?" she asked with uncertainty

"Idk Rock Paper Scissors, Does it really matter?" Killua idly commented from the side flicking at his screen with an almost frightening intensity

Tenya turned towards him with an affronted expression "How could we use such a childish method to decide an important position like the class representative of the prestigious 1.A Hero class" he said before the human caterpillar in the corner stood up as Aizawa's face poked through the unzipped hole

"Can you finish this up? I don't have time for this" he spoke in with his typical deadpan look

"Grrr Alright Rock paper scissors it is"

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!" Tenya Iida, and Momo Yaoruzo both exclaimed throwing out their hands scissors and rock respectively

"Hmmph Victory is mine" Momo spoke holding her hands up in a victory pose

*Sigh Tenya Iida looked at the floor in melancholy. "I lost..."

"Don't be so down, after all, I didn't get the position either" Killua spoke up cheerfully

"I hate you..."

The rest of the day had passed and Killua went home without anything interesting happening besides an alarm during lunch.

Apparently the reporters had somehow gotten into the campus triggering a bunch of alarms that sent the entire lunchroom running out into the halls screaming.

Tenya Iida along with a few staff tried to calm everyone down telling them that they weren't in any actual danger, and eventually they succeeded in calming down the mob. Killua had originally hadn't thought much of it, but the security should have been much better which took him back to a conversation he had earlier-

It was near the end of the day,a few hours after the incident during lunch, and the hero course class finally ended so they were prepared to go home.

They didn't really do anything interesting this time, instead doing more classroom work instead of practical. Much of the hero course was studying different guidelines and rules for heroes, along with learning textbook-style information on rescue techniques. Some of it was actually quite smart such as different scenarios including natural disasters, fires, and other similar catastrophes that would need a hero to help save people.

It had many details of how you should approach the situation and many other things he was sure Leorio would have been into.

Eventually, the class ended, and picking up his skateboard he walked towards the door pausing since he remembered something that had been plaguing his mind "All-might, what all happened during the alarm earlier" he spoke wanting to see what the man would say

"No need to worry young Killua, it was just a small breach of security from the reporters getting too eager, nothing to worry about" he saw with a light chuckle but Killua could instantly tell he was lying

"I looked over towards the security breach where the gate broke, and it didn't look like something a mere reporter could do" Killua countered him giving him a suspicious look

The symbol of peace's sweat dropped "Uhh We are still looking into the issue, but there is no need for concern" he said and Killua nodded not challenging him any further. After all, sometimes it's a lot easier to find out the truth from the way someone reacts, rather than the words they say themselves.

All-might's reaction had pretty much confirmed it. It seems that someone or some group was trying to target U.A.

He turned his back walking down the hall

'I could use a good game of detective' Killua thought already going over all the possibilities. His head was still wrapped around this as he walked around the corner out of sight leaving the number 1 hero behind.

Toshinori Yagi, better known as All-Might, collapsed tiredly onto the couch going from a buff nearly 500 pound muscled hero, to a weak skinny guy with an exhausted expression.

"It gets harder to keep this form by the day" he spoke to himself with a tired look

Standing up, he looked back towards the mirror in his room looking himself one again

'Here he was, the great symbol of peace' he thought with a self mocking look as he scanned over his weak scarred body with a giant wound on his side that looked like it would collapse at any moment.

He just wanted to rest. Decades of fighting and conflict have left him physically and mentally exhausted, but how can he afford to rest when he was needed more than ever?

Especially now, he had to prepare the next generation to face the incoming threats that he knew were coming.

The entire hero community had been wary lately. Villain activity grew more by the day, and there vague undercurrents of something larger at play which worried him to no end. 'I wonder if 'he' has a play in this' Toshinori thought remembering his long time enemy. *Sigh "As long as they are given proper time, I won't have to worry about the future" he murmured going over the talent this year.

Todoroki, Midoriya, Bakugo and Killua all were students he could retire easily knowing they were there in the future. Especially killua he thought remembering the video he had been shown earlier from the entrance exam and he chuckled contently

'I barely came close to that speed in my prime' he thought wryly. 'It really is true that the young will surpass the old although I may have to help him learn how to better control it without hurting his body' he thought mistakenly thinking Killua's body wasn't strong enough to bear traveling that fast.

Midoriya just needs time to adapt, and Bakugo needs to work on his personality.

'Overall, I'm excited about the future' he grinned the gloomy mood cast aside. He stared into that mirror reflecting back at him, and despite the weak skeleton looking back at him, he had broke out into a reminiscient grin

"I may be getting old, but I got some fight left in me. You what the best thing about this pain is?" he thought with mirth as he touched the horrible wound on his ribs

His smile held a grim determination as he looked over the skyline of the city with a confident look

"It tells me I'm not dead yet..."
