Chapter 19 - Selling Herself to the Rich Man

After Wati left the room, there was only Mumut, her mother, and Risa, the nurse who replaced Muna. The nurse was feeding Mumut's mother when several people came into the room. They were Harti, Hari, Yeni, Arti, and Lambang.

"Wow, I never thought that your mother was treated in such a luxurious place. We were already looking around in the third class ward and arguing with the officers. Luckily we met Auntie Wati when we were about to go home, Mut," said Yeni. Enviously, she glanced around to look at every detail of the room.

Yeni was a staff member in the finance department. She couldn't believe Mumut's mother was occupying this VVIP room because a few days before, she saw Mumut coming out of Ms. Padma's room with a very gloomy face. She also remembered being asked by Harti to raise money to help Mumut so that Mumut's mother could receive further treatment.

"Thank God, there are excellent people who are helping my mother," Mumut answered with a smile.

After greeting Mumut's mother and making small talk, they sat on the chairs on the terrace. Assisted by Risa, Mumut served the cookies and bottled drinks that Randy had brought to them. Because the distance between the third class ward and this pavilion was quite far away, they seemed thirsty, so they immediately took the bottled drinks and drank it immediately, except for Hari. The man silently looked at Mumut as various suspicions flashed through his mind. They also had luxurious cakes that were served on the table.

Suddenly Mumut's mother called Mumut, and the girl immediately approached her mother.

"I think she sold herself to a rich man. Otherwise, how could her mother stay in such a luxurious room?" Yeni said, expressing her guess while putting a piece of cake in her mouth

The others nodded. Arti and Lambang also declared the same opinion.

"Hush," Harti put her index finger to her mouth, gesturing for them to be quiet. Harti felt she had to confirm this with Mumut. But even though Harti had told them to be quiet, they still spoke about it with lowered voices.

Hari was upset to hear what his friends had suspected. There was a sense of disappointment on Mumut in his heart. It turned out that the girl was not as good as he thought. Ah, no wonder that girl had always refused him gently whenever he tried to confess his love.

When Mumut came out of her mother's room and joined them again a few moments later, they immediately stopped the hot gossip they said earlier. They chatted for a while before they finally said goodbye. Mumut thanked them, but she was upset. Mumut felt that tomorrow there would be rumors about her in the office because Yeni was the gossip girl.
