We was back, back in hell.
My head was pounding and the only thing on my mind was what he said to me about being his.
"That symbol. It means your mine..."
The way he said it fluttered through my head, I didn't care that we had a nice night with each other.
The dancing was amazeing yes, but now all I could think about was that he owned me, I was his property, no matter what I was always going to be a part in his life because of a deal, a deal I made to save someone who wasn't even In love with me, a deal that was pointless from the beginning.
I searched the libary for ages, the time was passing by slowly and all I could do was hope that one day I wouldn't be his to own, that I would be someone elses or that I would find someone good here to love or maybe be able to find a better life here.
All the books I opened didn't help it just told me the things I already knew or rather thought I knew about hell and the devil, then again everything has to start somewere, even if it's hard to believe all myths are true in some kind of way.
After a while of looking a white owl with long thin stawk legs strides up to me and tilted his head, a round golden crown was sat upon his head like he was a king, a king of all birds, a king of all creatures.
The owls body was mainly white but had a few blue and purple feathers on its wings, as his eyes were a strong peersing red that looked like he was looking deep into my sole.
"Are you okay my dear?" The owl asks with a hoot and a clack of his beak against each other.
My eyes widened and I stared at the bird.
"Y-you can talk?" I Yelp out in suprise.
The owl nodded his head slightly and clacked his beak, he was eating and pulling something off of his feathers making them look as clean and as tidy as he could.
"Yes I can talk did you think I was some sort of ave or fledgling?" he screeched riling his feathers up more so he looked bigger in size.
I didn't know what to say, I knew things in hell were different but how could a bird be talking right now, it was impossible. 'Am I losing my mind now?' I ask myself as I stear into the birds eyes.
"Now what are you looking for?" The bird asked picking up one of his long legs and pecking at it carefully pulling small peaces of mud and small objects off that had gotten stuck and tangled up around his legs and claws.
My mind had gone blank, I didn't really know what I was looking for, all I knew was it was on this mark the devil gave me, but I was sure that I checked all the books already.
I hadn't realised how impatiently the bird was staring at me till I heard the drumming of his claws against the table.
"Well?"
"I was looking for something on this" I say simply showing him the triangle marking on my hand.
He looked at it quickly with a raised foot in the air and his wings clasped closed tightly against his body.
His eyes observed the mark slowly his large irises following the lines immaculately taking in all of the small details like the small vights that popped out around it or the smoothness of my skin.
After a while he pushed off of the floor and began to sore slightly then flap his wings.
His landing was gentle and clean, his claw lifted once again and grazed itself over the books just hovering over them slightly, cautiously he moved his claw slowly avoiding the actual touch of the book.
He swooped back down after a while placing a thick book into my arms.
Some of the pages were badly damaged and you could tell they had be stained or had became damp at some point in time.
The cover was black, the spine of the book slowly falling apart, strands of ribbon and string sticking out like bookmakers holding something important or a reader in place.
I quickly skimmed over the pages in the book, looking at strange symbols that I didn't understand and a language that i didn't even know existed.
It was all so confuseing, but on one page was bold righting and patterns surrounding them, it was some sort of family tree.
The first name was at the top looked very old and like ink had been smudged over the top of the righting as if it was being erased from the records.
I slowly unfolded the rest of the paper but I couldn't let it go, there was tones of it, looking like it went on for years beyond the age of the world itself, I slowly unfolded the last page and saw the names Asher and Alex sat underlined at the bottom with only one decendant from Alex's side.
"Its a family tree" i said gently but suddenly saw the gap between Ashers dad and leviathan.
The top name was ironically one in neat cursive spelling out the name fallen star but the letter m stud above it meaning they was a Male.
I folded the paper back up and flipped it to the next page looking over all of the information and text, still nothing, only a few bits of information on deals and how he dealt with them but nothing on the mark he left behind.
"There is nothing in this book for this symbol" i say frustrated and slam it against the table with a huff.
My anger was over flowing me, I had no way of being free and this demon wasn't helping me at all.
He stud there stearing at me, like he wanted me to get angry, like it was some how helping me in some way.
"There is. Your not looking hard enough. Take it with you and look some more" the bird insisted.
With a sigh I picked the book back up and took it with me.
The walk back to my room was once again different but I some how knew were I was going around here, I always knew my way back to were I wanted to be or were i had been already, I just never knew my way back home, that's what scared me the most, maybe I didn't have one.
I skimmed threw the book as I walked slowly, my hand skimmed against the pages of it and took in what it could as did my eyes.
Half of the book was in another language so maybe i had to translate in some how, the only thing was it didn't look human, it looked made up, like a fairy tale.
Some of the language had been translated into English so that it was easier to read.
I could pick out the words king of hell and the serpents leader but I couldn't make out what that meant.
The next page drowned on about how the devils home changed due to the people in it, it took them were the devil needed them to go, not were they wanted to go.
My door creaked a small bit as I pushed it open with my back.
The room was quiet as always and so relaxing, nothing was loud here, not even the people in the cells from below could be heard, somehow I had even forgot about them in till now.
I placed the book down gently on my sofa as I walked over and turned on the small sterio I had hidden on the back of the book shelf.
The music slowly filled up the room making me smile as I plopped myself back down onto the sofa and began to scan through the book slowly trying to make out what it said over time as death of a bachelor surrounded the room.
☆☆☆☆☆☆
Yelling started to come from the outside of my window snapping me out of my trance and back into reality.
I quickly sat up from my seat and ran over to the window and looked down to see who was yelling, I couldn't see there face, all I could see was the short white dress and there long silver hair walking into the front door with varsity.
After a while I walked back over to the sofa and sighed board out of my mind.
In the quiet the words eco around my head again.
"Mine..."
"My pet..."
"My property..."
He was right I was his, this mark ment I made a deal to be his and never go back home unless needed to that was it.
"What could I have even done?" She asked herself with a huff of breath.
Out of curiosity I get up and look at the book again, I sit up at the picture of the devil with another male with small pointed horns and a portrait sat behind them of some sort of man goat.
It must have been satan, his dad.
After a while of re-reading I realise the chapter i was trying to find had been ripped out of the book the only bit left was a small rim were it originally would have layed.
Quickly getting back up I pick the book up in my right arm and speed walked back to the libary.
"Its missing" I pointed out.
"What's missing?" He asked again picking at his fethers and picking his claw up again to get deeper into his wings.
I frown more and point at the small shreds of paper left in the margin were the page was ment to be.
The bird looked over the page and nodded slightly as he examined over the details.
He pulled out a large book from under a desk and flipped through the pages then sqwaked.
"That's the page on the old family of hell" the bird exsplained and looked at me gently.
"They ruled long ago but after a while they died and the only one left was a angel named lucifer but you know the story for that" he said and sqwarked again.
"Then how is this book any use to me?" I aske and sigh looking down at the book trying to flick through the book again for some kind of clue to what this mark was.
After a while I noticed the small decorative shapes around the outsides of the pages.
They were triangles and stars.
I puffed out a harsh breath and growned at the frustration of not knowing how to fix my problems.
I hadn't seen the devil in a while not even heard from him him since aware small date had happened.
"Why did he even want to go on a date with me?" She asked her self and sighed again.
She traced her hand over the page and looked at the book again.
In the middle there was a book mark held into the spine.
I slowly pulled at the book mark opened the pages it layed between.
It talked about how the mark started and that none but a certain family could weld the power to mark people with it, but it wasn't a type of devil it was a type of subject from hell.
"The devil.... is a demon?" She asked with a raised brow.
The bird nodded and bowed his head at me.
But why?
The bird slowly lifted his head back up and his beak some how had a smile laying on them.
How was the devil a demon? I ask myself looking at the book with wonder as to who the real family would be to hell.
"The devils family in ruling starts with his grandfather but he was never put in the book as he wasnt affishiol. The devils were loyal to the real rulers the fallen star family and the crowning." The bird whooted out with he Claw waving around like he was moshaning to what he was saying.
"After that I know as little as you do only what's in these books and were I have served hell with" the bird exsplained.
With a nod I left the book and sighed moving over to the fiction section.
I pulled out a book on art and sighed flicking through it as I made my way around the halls reading my book.
I had gotten so frustrated and over loaded with finding out about the mark on my arm that I had to distract my thought from the idea of being someone's property.
The book was one of those stereotypical stories about people falling in love.
It was based in london England in the 1830s when queen Victoria ruled.
The main character was a noble woman who loved books and dreamed of a day were men and woman were equal, it kind of satisfied me reading something about the old times but have a futuristic twist in it as she ended up being the owner of a company.
After a while of waking bumped into something small and gentle.
Moving my book out or the way I see its varcity floating around in the hallway as if she was a lost puppy looking for attention.
