A Hero’s Resolve (Part 3)

Void smiled as he put Ms. Harper's phone down. "Alright, that should do." Dabi deactivated his flames and undid the restraints. Ms. Harper stood up and began to shapeshift. Toga returned to her normal self and took the gag out. "That was fun!" Void rolled his eyes as he whispered under his breath. "Fucking lunatic." He then picked up Dabi's phone and called Shigaraki. "The bait has been set. How is Boardwalk Tower looking?" The League of Villains Leader's raspy voice could be heard from the other end. "As always, the power of emailing an entire organization from the correct email account has ensured that the entire building will be vacated." "Really? How did you do that?" Twice could be heard on the other end as well, in his normal cheerful yet psychotic voice. "Termite infestation!" Void chuckled a little bit. "Alright. We'll be over there in a few hours." Void hung up and then called Wake. "Hey Dabi, what's up?" "It's Void, actually. How is the hostage doing?" Wake sighed. "Just as I told you an hour ago, she is fine. And when you call back in an hour again, she will still be fine. Is there anything else you need?" "Do you still remember the plan?" Wake was fed up now. "Yes!" "Then no, I don't need anything else." Void hung up. Dabi looked over at Void. "Why do you care so much?" Void threw Dabi's phone back to him. "Because despite her being the mother who raised that piece of shit Chris, she's still the woman who raised me."

Chris was on the verge of breaking down. Momo was doing her best to comfort her boyfriend. Kirishima and Mina, who now knew the full story, stayed close to the couple. Aizawa, All Might, and Nezu burst into the dorms, seeing Chris in the lounge area. Aizawa sat across from him. We got Momo's call, but details were vague. What exactly did Void tell you?" Chris didn't answer. Momo looked up at their former instructor. "Perhaps it's best if we wait for Fatgum. He is currently driving over from the Endeavor Agency." Aizawa sighed and nodded. Luckily, Fatgum entered only a few moments later. "Sorry I'm late!" The pro hero sat down as well. "Ok, so Void called you and threatened you. What else happened?" Chris began to tear up. "...they have her… the League of Villains… has my mother…" The room was silent. All Might took out his phone and called Naomasa so he could investigate Chris's residence. Fatgum pulled out his phone, messaging Tamaki to begin looking into possible league of Villains locations. Aizawa remained focused on Chris. "Did they say what their demands were?" Chris looked up for the first time since Aizawa entered the room. "...Void's only demand… was for me to meet him… at the top of the Boardwalk Tower… in 24 hours… and to come alone..." Momo glanced at her phone. "...23 hours now…" Nezu shook his head. "Chris, I'm afraid I can't let you do this. Let the pro heroes figure this out." Kirishima was the one to get angry and stand up. "Pro heroes?! The last time pro heroes tried to take on the League, Endeavor ended up in a coma!" Mina nodded. "For some reason, you pro heroes continuously fail to fight the League of Villains effectively. Yet, us six are holding our own out there. Maybe it's time for you so called 'professionals' to step aside and let us deal with the league" Momo looked up. "I'm inclined to agree. Given how often we battle the League and come out alright, and then compare that to the pro heroes who either die or lose to the League of Villains, it would be wise to send us instead." Chris stood up. The despair was gone, replaced by rage and determination. "I'm going. I'm going to save my mother and to make sure I beat Void once and for all."

The teachers glanced at each other. Fatgum bit his lip. Finally, All Might spoke up. "Ok." Everyone immediately snapped their gazes over in shock. All Might shrugged. "Principal Nezu has been telling me that I need to take a step back and start seeing you all as heroes." The former Symbol of Peace looked at each of them. "Red Riot. Pinky. Creati. Impact. Shoto and Endgame, wherever they are. You six have long since proven yourselves to everyone who sees you that you are more than capable of being some of the greatest heroes the country has ever seen. Now, unfortunately, you lot are the best chance we have against the League of Villains." Aizawa sighed and nodded. "Very well. Please get some rest. Then we will come up with a plan tomorrow."

The four friends were on their way back up to Jason's room when they saw a small crowd standing there next to Shoto. Momo blinked a few times. "...uh… hey guys…" Kyoko looked over. With my quirk, I heard everything. You guys are seriously going to take on Void tomorrow?" They all nodded. Denki stood up straight. "Not without me you're not." Tokoyami nodded in agreement. So did Itsuka, Iida, and Kyoko. Kirishima smiled. "Thanks guys." Shoto also smiled. "With all 11 of us, we have a real fighting chance to stop the League of Villains once and for all." Chris sadly looked at Jason's door. "...pretty sure it will just be 10 of us going tomorrow…"
