Nosy

He realized how sad his life was at the time: being a spoiled child who could barely do anything on his own. He had no doubt that everyone thought that of him, because it was the truth. Maybe that was the downside of living a life full of luxury or maybe it really was useless and he was just trying to justify himself with the life he had had. What had he achieved without his father's help? He couldn't live a day on his own, of that he was sure.

"That's ... interesting," Sebastian commented after a few seconds. "I didn't know that you liked producing music so much."

"There are many things we do not know about others. That's what makes us interesting, isn't it?" Nathaniel smiled, showing his dimples and narrowing his eyes. "It was a good opportunity to get to know each other a little more."

"And it wasn't so bad after all..." He also smiled sincerely. Maybe he thought that knowing that about the silver-haired guy would be quite an unnecessary piece of information in his life. However, that conversation made him clear a bit of all the problems that he carried on his back. If that day had been of any use, it had been to kill time on something relatively entertaining.

He closed the notebook he had used earlier and set it aside. It no longer made sense for him to continue "studying" when his mind had been distracted by the conversation he had had with Nathaniel. And, apparently, this one didn't mind leaving his homework unfinished. Wasn't he supposed to force him to review his topics?

The silver-haired smile was still on his face, but it soon disappeared when his cell phone rang inside his pants pocket. "He has to go now," Sebastian thought, glancing at the alarm clock. 16:26. It was still too early for him to leave and something inside him felt sad that he had to be alone again. At least Nathaniel kept him company on his lonely afternoons.

The sound of the minor's clicking made him look up. His face was serene and his fingers worked quickly. He was curious to know who he was sending the message to and what was its content, but he preferred not to give it much importance. After all, it wasn't something he was interested in, anyway.

After a few seconds, the silver-haired guy put his cell phone back, but he did not stand from his place, which surprised Sebastian.

"Aren't you leaving?" He regretted his poor choice in his words, as he hadn't planned to be rude this time, not after having had a nice moment together.

"It's not five o'clock yet," he clarified, again showing a smile. "I can't leave until it's five o'clock." Sebastian couldn't help but wonder if it was a rule he had to follow or just a time that he had chosen. "Mom wants me to be early for dinner. They seem to have some rather important news."

"Are you going to another place after being here?"

"It's not like that." He leaned back in his chair, rocking from one side to the other. "Sometimes I like to walk slowly so that it takes a little while to get home."

"You don't like being at home?"

Honestly, Nathaniel didn't look like one of those guys who hated being in his home. In fact, he seemed to be very close to his family –despite the fact that his parents refused at the occurrence of being a musician by their son–. He didn't appear to have family problems or a problem with anything in general. He was the true example of the perfect son.

"It's not that either," he clarified. "I like being at home, but there are times when I need to think and I don't think my home is a suitable place to do it, as my sister always has her stereo on very loud. However, the other times where I am late is because I go out with Yoram and Hir..." he stopped his words suddenly, realizing the mistake he had made in saying that. "Sorry, I didn't have to mention it."

"It's okay," he shrugged trying to pretend it didn't matter, even when it still hurt. "There is nothing wrong with having friends' outings."

"Still, I don't feel like it's okay right now." He shook his head in denial as he let out a heavy sigh. "But I see you've been with Jack and Jade."

"Oh. Yes." He did not know what else to say and he waited for the other to speak, which did not happen and he had to keep talking to avoid leaving the uncomfortable environment. "We are childhood friends. At first it was just Jade and me, but then Jack joined us."

"How did you two meet?"

"Our dads have been friends since college. Our mothers were friends too, so we could say that we've known each other since we were in the womb." He cleared his throat before continuing. "When we were born, our families got together frequently and, therefore, we lived together. But Jack was constantly on the road so we didn't see each other much, until they let him stay at my house while his parents traveled. In short: the three of us are like brothers."

Nathaniel gave a slight laugh, clasped his hands and stared at the ground for a few moments.

"It's a beautiful story," he commented as he looked him in the eye. "That explains why they are so close."

"We have always been together for anything. We go to the same schools, we go to the same activities, we share the holidays,... It is something entertaining, yes. We are commonly close to support each other."

"And the three of you stayed in the student council."

"Well..." he scratched the back of his neck somewhat uncomfortably, "Jade has always been the most organized of the three and her kind heart wanted to take position in the congress. Instead, Jack wanted arts, but, since Jade is the smallest of the three and who he loves the most in this world, he decided to apply as well."

"And you, Sebas?"

"I came in with them," he answered obviously. "I thought you already knew that."

"What activity did you want to try?"
