Soft music made its way to my ears when we entered the restaurant. The second thing I noticed was the cream shaded lights which brightened the whole area giving me a warm and cosy feeling. The place was just how it appeared from the outside.
Judging by the people's outfits it seemed as if we had invaded a rich people area. Not that we were poor, I simply didn't have enough money to call myself rich, but it was enough for me to survive.
Skylar guided her hands around my forearm. She wore a knee-length classic black dress which matched her perfect short black hair. Her brown eyes gleaming under the lights. "How's the place?"
Skylar always had a good taste when it came to things like this. Whenever I had to shop for clothes or any necessary things she would suddenly turn into her expert mode and choose stuff of s good quality and in my budget.
I nodded with a smile.
She glanced down at my attire. "Heaven you have no idea how ravishing you look in this dress."
I looked down at my full-length maroon dress where the sleeves ended up near my forearm. By looking at me people wouldn't think that I was on a blind date, but Skylar pressured me to wear it since it was late evening and would suit the place she has chosen.
We walked up to the reception, Skylar pulled out her hands from my arm placing them on the desk. "Excuse me?"
A lady dressed in a white full-sleeve shirt and black skirt moved around to look at us. Her raven hair pulled into a professional bun as she welcomed us with a bright smile. "Good evening, how may I help you?"
"We have a table reserved under Samson. Would you mind helping us over there?" Skylar politely asked.
I frowned, Skylar's last name was Brooks, not Samson. Did that Michael guy book it? Somehow I recognised the surname, I was familiar with it, but I let it go since many people around the world use the same last name.
"Sure," the lady said. She called out to a young girl who was dressed in the same outfit as her. The young lady turned around with a confused face as she approached us.
"Show our guests room number twenty-three, on the second floor," the reception lady commanded.
We were ushered inside the elevator as the doors closed.
I placed my hand horizontally to the side of my mouth as I leaned forward to whisper into Skylar's ear. "Did Michael do the reservation?"
She did the same thing, coming closer to my ear she said, "He insisted."
The doors to the elevator opened revealing an elegant cream coloured wall, it had designs of leaves and flowers on it. It looked beautiful. The young lady walked out motioning us to follow her as she walked down the corridor.
This floor was nothing like the ground floor. Brown doors were fixed between the walls on each side. Numbers engraved on the gold oval shaped plaque. It appeared as if this floor was used for personal affairs.
Why the hell am I here? Wasn't I on a blind date? It seemed more like a business meeting. Oh, God.
"Skylar, what is this? Weren't you taking me on a blind date?" I whispered.
"Apparently, Michael dislikes being in public places for too long. He prefers having personal conversations."
Wow, I was on a blind date with someone who was slightly affected by agoraphobia. It would've been better if I had spent my night at home doing nothing.
I let out a defeated sigh.

Lucas paid no attention to the lady sitting across him, asking about his and his pack's well-being as he cut the small piece of the meat bringing it to his lips. They were sitting at the same restaurant on the same floor as Heaven and her friend, but far ends of the corridor in different rooms.
Lucas did feel something in his chest though—some weird sensation. However, the annoying woman retained him from pondering anything but her.
Lucas wasn't fascinating in meeting her, but she just wouldn't budge off. She just had to keep on pushing him off to the edge as if she didn't have anything better to do. He had many more things to do than sit with her.
"Is this the reason you wanted to talk to me, Alpha Ava?" He wearily questioned.
She crossed her arms over her chest and gave him a pointed look. "Do you think my concern towards you is boring?"
"No, you paying attention to unnecessary things is boring," he corrected her.
"How is it unnecessary—"
He cut her short. "Can you just come to the point? Why did you call me?"
Ava just stared at him for a moment. Observing his features. Anyone who would take a glance at her would surely be amazed at how beautiful she looks. Ava was surely an Asian beauty, although her looks didn't give away the fact. Born like a princess, raised like a warrior, a girl like Ava was tough to challenge.
"Alpha Ryan is blackmailing me."
"How is that any of my concern?"
"We are Allies. You should help me." She spoke. She didn't appreciate how she was taken so lightly by him. It angered her when Lucas didn't give even a slightest bit of interest.
"Never in my twenty-six years of life shook the hands of my enemy, let alone be my ally," he specified.
"Alpha Lucas, please. I accept that what my father did to your pack was wrong. I agree. But I should let you know that I'm nothing like him. I don't share the same ideology as him. So, it's better you forget it and move on," she asserted. "All I want is to build a friendship with you. Is it so hard for you to acknowledge it?"
Alpha Lucas stared at her blankly, her eyes were angry and he was out of words. What else could someone expect him to say?
He was a type of a man who respected women, who believed no woman is less than a man and who looked up to their great achievements. Ava was no exception. He admired her—not because she was beautiful, but because she was a strong woman with a strong will. She stood up for her pack. There was just a slight something in her which Lucas loathed. A person standing miles away could see how much she craved for his attention.
Lucas huffed as he brought his red wine close to his lips. "What did he do?"
She blinked, perplexed out of her mind. "Huh?"
"Why did he blackmail you?" He repeated. his voice hinting irritation. One of the things which Lucas hated was repeating himself. He never liked it. He was a patient man, but just there were these few things which triggered him in seconds.
Ava licked her lips before saying, "You must be knowing the disturbance between Alpha Ryan and Alpha Stephen." Lucas nodded, a signal for her to carry on. "Well, apparently there's war ahead between them and Alpha Ryan has been bugging me to support him. I refused at first, of course, since it wasn't my thing to meddle with, but he wouldn't let go. You have no idea how much it's driving me nuts. Recently, he entered my territorial lands and sent me a threat message. That man has even got guts to enter my bedroom."
Lucas was speechless, he had no idea that Ryan would step out of his boundaries like that. He was known for his cunning ways, but he wasn't a bad person as far as Lucas knew. His story with his mate was one hit plot. He loved her dearly. Lucas just didn't get it why he would go that far.
"You have a mole in your pack."
"I know, I'm just not able to pin him or her."
A moment of silence crossed between them. Lucas was staring at nothing, he was aware of Ryan cunningness but all he focused on was how to block it.
"What are you thinking?" Ava asked.
Lucas looked up at her. "I'll help you, but you need to explain this whole situation with more details."
