I pushed the hangers into the necks of my tops and folded my other clothes before organising them in my vacant dustless wardrobe. Arranging them properly so by the next time it would be much easier for me to choose.
Last night I was too tired to even open my eyes and much to my dismay I even dozed off in Alpha Lucas' car and that poor guy had to go through a lot in waking me up without touching me. I'm an actual deal when it comes to waking me up so Skylar never really bothered waking my ass if I overslept.
Even though I didn't like Alpha Lucas he didn't really show any negative action towards me, even in my sleep he respected me by not carrying me like how usually mates do. But still, my devil side repeats itself saying that I might be thinking the wrong way about him—that maybe he was just showing it off until he had a firm grip on me.
Well, I couldn't help but consider the possibility.
This world was full of lies and betrayals and only a small per cent of good exists which was as good as non-existent in my life.
I huffed as I successfully completed the job of my clothes as I pushed the empty bags under the bed. I stretched my body satisfied when I heard a few cracks here and there.
A knock interrupted my little exercise as a young boy stepped in, his blond hair covering his dark chocolate eyes as he ducked his head not daring to lift it up.
"Alpha Lucas wants to see you. He told me he will be waiting in his office."
"When should I—"
He rushed out of the door as soon as he informed me, not bothering to wait and listen to what I had to ask, but I didn't miss the blush on his cheeks. He was shy and was surely not used to talking to new people.
What could you expect from around a six-year-old boy? Well, his age was purely a guess.
I unrolled the small bun on my head, pulling my hair into a messy pony. I puffed out a few breaths from my small lips before walking out in search of his office. I wondered if it was even in the packhouse, usually, Alphas have their office either in their home or packhouse or their workplace. In this clueless situation with no navigation, I don't think I would find his office by today.
I pushed open the main doors of the packhouse just to be attacked by the unwelcoming cool air. I rubbed my arms feeling the cotton sleeves of my blue plain top, today was one of the days where the sun refuses to show up or maybe the clouds were too angry at it to not give the poor shiny ball it's satisfaction. I chuckled at my own phrase but anyhow, my smile grew bigger when I spotted two girls chit-chatting while making their way to the packhouse.
"Excuse me." I stopped them as they raised their heads to look at me, holding a questioning look.
"Where can I find Alpha Lucas' office?" I asked.
"Which office?" The one with blonde hair spoke in her sweet voice.
"Hm?"
The same girl clarified, "Alpha Lucas has many offices. Which one are you looking for? The packhouse or the one in his house or his workplace office?"
I chuckled nervously, this guy surely knows how to surprise one. Was this some kind of payment for how 'well' I understood him?
"Which one... is he in now?"
The other girl with boy cut red hair said before pulling her friend into the packhouse, "We don't know."
I threw my hands up in the air. Now how am I going to find that brainless sleeveen?
"May I help you, Luna?" I turned to find yet another impressive-looking man with his short brown hair and dark brown eyes. All my life I haven't seen a single werewolf who doesn't have an over the manly body, it's kind of become a habit of mine to consider every abs-holding man a werewolf. Well, one of the epitomes was standing in front of me.
"Um...I was actually—wait, how do you know I am a Luna? Who are you?" I gave him a puzzled look, expecting to look intimate and tough.
He chuckled. "This is probably the first time I'm introducing myself, but anyway, I'm the Gamma of this pack. Gamma Mason."
"Oh..." Realization seeped through me as I clapped my hands in the process.
"So you are the Gamma. Sorry for my clumsiness, I'm not a sort of a person who keeps myself updated with the world around."
"It's perfectly fine, I don't mind it."
"Thank you," I said. "I was actually wondering where the Alpha's office is—I mean in which office he is?"
He slightly frowned. "He's right in the packhouse. I'm surprised you don't know his office is right next to your room."
A mind-boggling expression crossed my features, my eyes switching between him and the packhouse. I pointed my forefinger at the building and posed a question, "Is he in there—right in the room beside mine?"
He softly chuckled, "Yes. Actually, the room you're staying in was Alpha Lucas' before he moved out, so that's why he preferred to have his office close to his room."
I nodded, slowly gulping down his words, "I see." I chuckled. "I didn't know about that."
"No problem, If you want I can guide you to his office."
I quickly responded, "No. it's fine. I can find my way back, you might be very busy, I shouldn't bother you."
"It's an honour to help Luna."
"I appreciate it, but thank you."
He bowed down respectfully, muttering a soft farewell before going off to where he intended to. I pushed my dark hair behind my shoulder, observing the white building standing tall and proudly showing off its beauty.
I sighed stepping back into the building, familiarizing myself with my purlieu which I couldn't do last night. I walked back in the same corridor before stopping myself in front of his door, glaring at the fancy oak door hoping it would attack him straight where the sun doesn't choose to shine.
"That jerk," I muttered, gently bringing my hand to knock on his door. When I didn't catch him saying anything I chose it as a hint and pushed the door open. My eyes automatically fell on him as he sat behind his fancy executive desk with a computer angled towards him. His hickory brown hair messy as his honey pools shined when they captured my presence. I stood there like a lost child with an unknown reason.
He motioned me to sit a chair in front of him as I followed his instructions. "Why did you call me?"
He intertwined his fingers on the table and watched me with those gentle pools. "Have you had your breakfast?"
"Is that it?" I raised a brow.
He chuckled in his melodic voice before replying, "I called you to discuss a matter, but just curious if you had anything yet."
"I did, don't need to worry."
He nodded satisfied with my answer. "I got to know that you have been struggling to find a new job and—"
"Who told you about that?" I asked, stupefied by the piece of information he held about me.
A glint of amusement swirled in his orbs, a small smile found pairing with his plump lips. "Are you forgetting that I rule over this country?"
I fisted my hands as I gazed at him. "Just because you hold a high position doesn't mean that you could misuse your power like that and collect personal information without the owner's consent. This comes under illegal methods, Mr Anderson."
His eyes widened as he stiffened, raising his hands in surrender. "I didn't collect any of your personal information, it was a mere coincidence when I heard Skylar talking about you to Jake. I just happened to be there at the right place and right time, trust me."
Something about his voice was off, he looked scared and his eyes panicked figuring out how to convince me into this. I mean this a possibility too, but just because he babbled some shit doesn't mean I'm taking it.
"Then why do you look like you broke out in a cold sweat?"
He closed his eyes and breathed in before looking at me with an impassive look. "Just listen, it's up to you whether you want to believe me or not, just let me tell you that you don't have to look for a job anymore. You can take up the Luna job."
I breathed out in surprise. "What did you just say? Mister if you haven't noticed my interests yet, let me fill your brain once again, I'm not interested in being your Luna."
His lips pressed into a thin line as anger consumed his whole body, just by looking at him anyone could tell how much he wanted to snap at me right now, but then his eyes told me a different story. Even though anger layered the top of his eyes, he didn't bother to show me the hurt I was causing him. I mean I didn't completely mean what I just said. If I weren't so weak then I might have considered the bond, but the majority of my thoughts protested and held me down from exploring the positive about him.
He sighed a deep breath. "I'm not asking you to become my Luna.... yet, but I'm requesting you to take up the job that Luna is supposed to do. That way you can earn more money."
I stared at him, my eyes travelling down to the surface of the table. My brain contemplated the idea, he was right. I needed to earn money to get stable and buy a house for myself. I even planned on selling the apartment which my dad had passed to me.
He continued, "I'm giving you four days to think about it. Choose wisely."

"How long are you going to sit here and drag on our chance?" A woman around her fifties questioned as she crossed her leg over the other graciously before resting her arm straight along with the head of the white fluffy sofa tapping the forefinger on the area constantly.
Ava averted her eyes from her paperwork glancing up at the woman who wore a grim expression on her bright face, the makeup making her look younger than the expected age. Her white dress fitting her model-like body faultless.
Ava silently kept the paperwork on her table as he leant back on her desk chair while looking at the woman. "Aunt Sheryl, it's not easy as it looks. Do you really think that person would agree on any of this?"
Sheryl bent down and took the white glass cup of hot coffee in her hands, her pink lips forming a perfect 'o' as she blew the coffee.
"Of course he won't, but don't you think we should find our own way to our own destination. You are an Alpha. Try to persuade him, please him, tell him that you like him. Try to pull him into your trap or you'll lose him before you can have him."
