Percy and the Girl

Daniel could only utter in disbelief at the sight of the knight-rank warden. Despite being a Level 9 wielder himself, he was ready to pack up and run. But he wasn't a coward and he knew he had a duty to fulfill.

"All troops listen! Do not let those lasers hit you!"

But everyone already scrambled in panic. What could they do, at the sight of impending doom?

"Colonel!" called Tierra. "Doctor Orquez is reporting an unusual situation in sub-level five!"

"What does he want now?! We're about to get wiped out!"

"Colonel!" Adonis' face popped on the screen. "A girl emerged from inside the ore!"

"What?!"

Percy didn't know how or why, but after touching the ore, it cracked and it started glowing really brightly. Then he passed out.

He found himself in a dark space. It had nothing except for Akeras that was glowing in front of him.

"Are you him?" a voice asked. Somehow, he knew it wasn't coming from Akeras but from someone else. "Are you the owner of Akeras?"

"I wouldn't say owner." he replied. "More like we have a mutual relationship."

"I see. Has she not fully awakened yet?" asked the voice again.

"What do you mean?"

"No matter. I can feel them. They're closing in on us. They are also looking for the master of Akeras. That's why you have to wake up."

Percy found himself kneeling in front of the ore. He glanced around and saw the worried faces of the staff but he noticed that his brother was nowhere to be seen.

"There was an emergency. A warden had shown up." said Adonis.

"A warden?" he was surprised. "There hasn't been one sighting for the last sixty years!"

"Well there is one now, or rather two. The colonel has deployed everyone, including that new squad."

Percy's eyes widened. His team!

He was about to stand up, but he found his hand still stuck in the ore.

"Get it out." he growled.

"We had been trying to do that for the last ten minutes. But none of our equipment is working!"

Percy started pulling out his hand harder, but it was really stuck. A change in the pressure suddenly enveloped him. He knew his team was in danger and he had to get to them, fast. With one last pull he managed to get his hand out but the ore started to break apart. He could hear Adonis behind him squeal in delight.

Layer by layer, the ore unraveled. And finally the last layer peeled itself off, and a girl and two small figures dropped. Before the girl fell to the floor, he caught her while the two figures landed on them; one on his head while the other was on the girl's abdomen.

The girl had silky silver hair and a fair skin. She was wearing a leather-made armor and a red hooded cloak hugged her body. Somehow, Percy could feel power around her. He looked at the two figures and found out that one was a grey wolf pup while the other was a white fox cub. The two were releasing energy that resembled relics but more... powerful.

The girl's eyes opened and locked her gaze on him. He could see her jade-green eyes slowly turn into gold. And all of a sudden, she kissed him.

Percy couldn't explain it, but a rush of energy surged through him. He could feel himself become stronger and he could feel Akeras pulsating with power.

Everything happened really fast, like quite literally. The moment the girl stood up and held his hand, he was whisked away into the place of danger, Kal-anan Area.

The girl was bathed in a glowing light and started flying. A clap of thunder resounded then a bolt of lightning ran from the skies and hit the knight-rank warden that was shooting anything and anyone it sets its eyes on. The warden's attack ceased for a moment. Hundreds of icicles formed around her and shot the pawn-rank wardens that were swarming around.

Percy then activated Akeras. He was also bathed in golden light and sped his way towards the big warden. He hacked its way to it, cutting the smaller wardens perfectly into two with its cores in a perfect clean cut.

The knight-rank screeched for the second time and started shooting lasers from its eyes again. A wall of ice appeared in front of the silver-haired girl which blocked the laser. She held her hand upward and dark clouds formed in the skies. She pointed her finger to the warden and an arc of lightning hit it again!

"NOW!" she yelled.

From the ground, Percy used Akeras and boosted his jumping skill to the maximum level and jumped really high. He landed on the knight-rank warden's head and stabbed the core that was in its forehead.

The warden thrashed around but Percy held tight until the core's light, which was slowly seeping into Akeras, fully turned black. The red lines disappeared and the warden stopped as well. Akeras returned into its pendant form and Percy went free falling.

The members of the Zero Squad only watched in astonishment as the unknown girl with a silver hair and their captain kill the warden that cocooned them with fear just a while ago. And when it was finally killed, the remaining pawn-rank wardens ran back inside the rift and it closed.

[Dimensional rift closed. Security threat level, all green.] said a female robotic voice in their communicators.

They all panicked though when they saw Percy went free falling, but the silver-haired girl flew to his direction and caught him. He was unconscious.

The girl slowly descended to the ground. When her foot reached the ground, she collapsed as well. The four of them immediately ran to the two. Cam and Lisa checked on Percy, meanwhile Kitty and Neri checked the unknown girl.

"Bring all the injured back to the base. Major Ramos, Captain Alfafara, supervise the collection of the warden metals back to the base." Daniel ordered.

Unfortunately, it wasn't only Kal-anan Area that was attacked.

Everyone was surprised at the sudden warden attack but the years of waiting was finally over. They understood that the hero, Isagani Ashtein, only bought them some time so they could prepare and finally stand a chance against the inter-dimensional creatures.
